Alright, so after a horrible night sleep, my alarm went off at 4:30am. I was up, dressed and out the door (after updating my status and checking email) by 5:00am. Heading out to pick up my partner in crime. Got to Seth's house at 5:30am and both he and his friend, Mary Louise, were waiting for me. Back in the car and off to Camp Pendleton. We made great time. By 7:00am we were in the long line to get into the parking area. Out of the car w/ all of our stuff and onto the bus to take us up to the run area. Before heading in to do registration, we had to take a "clean" picture of the 3 of us:
Off to registration. We had to redo everything. Seth and I had a 5 man team. Three cancelled on us (one on last minute, one never told me exactly that she wasn't doing it), so, Seth and I decided to run as individuals. After we got our free t-shirts, I bought my tank top souvenoir. Checked in our bags, used the porta potties (so gross!), and pushed ourselves into the crowd. It was packed. We were pretty close to the front. 9:00am, the horn sounded and we start to go. So far, so good. Then, bam, the water hoses are spraying you, hard. Water all in the face. Soaked. Ok, running some more. I'm keeping up with my buds and then bam, I get a stictch in my side. I tell them to go, that I'm fine. I'm at my own pace, just running along. Then, the water comes: have to run through little streams. Oh man, my clothes and shoes were so heavy. But, I keep on going. Then, the first hill comes. I'm half way up and I'm like, "nope, ain't going make it." I walk. But, at a good pace. And, I just keep on walking. And, the hill keeps on going. The first 3 miles is just running, running and up hill. All of a sudden, there's Mary Louise. She wa nervous about my side and she waited for me. She's the bomb! She stayed with the rest of the way. We did a lot of walking, talking and running. Then, there's the mud. Oh my GOSH! Mud and climbing over a wall. They don't mix very well. Almost fell backwards into the mud (foot slipped), but someone behind pushed me up. Thank you whoever you were! More running. Then, the crossing of the lake. Everyone I spoke to said, "Don't worry. It's about knee deep, so about waist on you." Ok, I can do that. Well. The people I saw in the water were neck deep. Mary Louise said, "We can bypass. It's ok." (that was after telling her about a water phobia I have). "Nope, Mary Louise, I'm going to do this." And, we did. Couldn't reach the bottom at times and there was no putting your face into the muddy water. But, we did it. Running some more hills until we get to the slippery hill of h*ll. A steep hill with mud oozing down while the marine is squirting water hoses at everyone. Made it up and then, we're almost done. Alright Mary Louise, let's finish strong. So, we're running. Heading around the corner after running awhile and we hear, "This is it. Just through the trenches of mud and you're done." Ok, huh?? You are crawling under "barbwire" in mud. Have to say, that was my favorite part. All the specators are cheering you on. It was great. Up and out and to the finish line. Mary Louse and I cross the finish line in 1:34:41. Not great, but not bad. It was tough. We found Seth and took a picture of the 3 of us, the after pic:
Got our bags and headed to the communal showers. Can't get back on the bus until you shower off. The coldest water ever. Freezing!!
Then, they had changing tents for the men and woman. Got into cleaner clothes, got some water and back on the bus to our car. We went out for a celebratory breakfast. I was good and had an eggwhite omelet with mushrooms, onions and fresh spinach, 1 piece of whole wheat toast, some black beans and a taste of pancakes. Oh, and coffee. Then, we headed back home. Dropped Seth and Mary Louise home and I got back on the freeway to go home. Got home, relaxed a bit, had some dinner, took a normal shower and now, on the computer. Gonna go to bed early tonight. I think I'll sleep well tonight!
Thanks Seth and May Louise. We'll see about next year. But, save the date for the Marine Crops!

So, yesterday was a busy, but good, day. I started it off with a 5:40am run outside. It was nice to be out, but i could have done without the wind. At one point, I was so ready to give up and I thought, "Hey, Michael fromthe BL ran a marathon. I could at least do 3.5 miles." And, I did. Was out for 40 mins and ran 3.6 miles. Felt good. Got home, showered, got my princess ready for school (so nice only having to worry about one. My boys don't need me for the mornings!!), and we were out the door at 7:40. I had a PTA mtg in the morning and then, off to a llunch at Robinson Ranch Country Club. More PTA stuff for next year. That's what happens when you get elected for the board for next year. Back to school to pick up the girl and then, her brother. Then, it was time to go to the dodger game. My hubby got the suite from one of his attorney's. So much fun. We got to bring the kids and he invited people from his work. Okay, in the suite, they have food. For dinner, I had: lots of vegies, 1/2 of a chicken wrap in a whole wheat tortilla, and a bite of a dodger dog. Well, then, they come knocking on the door. "Dessert cart is here." so, here it is:
And, here is what I had:
I did take a bite of two of my son's desserts and had 2 slices of apple with as much caramel off of it. Everyone was saying, "You're not getting anything? Wow." And I said, "Yup. This is my dessert" and showed them my WW bar. I have to say, I was pretty proud of myself.
Wanted to update everyone who was so concerned with my daughter: every morning I get the, "my stomach hurts" and she clings to me and doesn't want me leaving the class. But, the teacher distracts her and she stays in class all day. Kind of strange if you knew my daughter, but, who knows. At least I'm not getting any more calls. Maybe by next week, she won't be so clingy.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. We're going to watch the Tour of California on Saturday and Sunday. Very excited even though I just heard that Lance is hurt and is done racing for this Tour. Maybe I'll see him walking around. I'll let you know.
Until next time-

I want to thank everyone who has given me advice with my daughter. this morning, she started in again that her stomach really, really hurts. Crying and everything. As I was trying to get out of her classroom, her teacher came over and said, "Rachel, I need your help. Can you put these in everyones cubbies?" Out the door I went and never got a phone call. My friend texted me to tell me that she came into class after lunch and Rachel had a big smile on her face. Who know what was going on. she was sick a few weeks back and her teacher thought that she was anxious about getting sick again. I'm hoping we nipped this one in the bud. Fingers crossed.
Aside from all that, it was a good day. Did a body sculpt class and 35 minutes on the elliptical, intervals of level 8 & 14. Came home and watched the Biggest Loser and, of course, cried! I'm such a sucker for these things. Did my carpool and took Rachel to tennis lesson. Nice to see the change in her. After dinner, Rachel, DH and I went to the farmer's market and stocked up on some fresh fruit and vegies. Can't wait to have a peach tomorrow. yum!!
Have a bust day tomorrow, so I'm up early (about 5:30) to get my run in. Tired just thinking about it.
Ok, gonna go watch American Idol and have my WW Ice Cream Latte Bar.
Until next time-

Before I get to my weigh in for today, I wanted to add to yesterday's blog. While I was sitting at the pool in Palm Springs, in my new bikini, I felt wonderful. I didn't feel that I didn't belong there wearing that bikini. It was such a great feeling. I wasn't self concious at all. Haven't felt like that since last summer. Still not 100% where I want to be, but I'm getting there slowly.
So, to my weigh in: I lost .6 lbs. which put me at losing 5.4 lbs in 6 weeks. I'm so not complaining. I'm at 126.8 and I'm getting there. Yeah me!!!!!
Now, if I could just fix my daughter and her "stomach aches" life would be so grand. She actually stayed in school the whole day yesterday. However, today, I got the phone call. They did get her to go to lunch and I haven't heard back yet. Lunch isn't over yet. She gets out early today, so I don't know what the deal is. I promised her this morning that if she stays in school all day, I'd take her to Target to shop for shorts (she doesn't have any.) Well, she is in school, but she was in the office for most of it. I'm at a loss. She says everything is fine in school, but I'm not buying it any more. I'll keep you all posted.

Ok, so we got to the hotel around 4:30pm and dinner wasn't until 6:30pm. Wasted time in the room by watching t.v. with the kids. Dinner was ok. It was different stations of shrimp, vegetable or chicken kabobs, assorted grilled vegetables, ceasar salad (in a martini glass), sausage, paella, cheeses, bread. I had shrimp kabobs and lots of vegies. Oh, they also had pork and beef. Stayed away from that. Now, get this, they had 3 fountains of chocolate with strawberries, marshmellows, brownies and pretzels to dip into it. Guess what I had? That's right folks, NOTHING!! After we went around schmoozing and getting goodies from the vendors, we went back upstairs to drop the little one off with her brothers (and I got a ww mini bar). Then, DH and I went back down to the dessert room. He was in heaven. I had my 3rd cup of coffee and a little truffle ball. I had enough.
Saturday, DH and I went to the gym and ran side by side on the treadmill. I ran a little more then a 5K. I made a deal with myself that i wouldn't stop running until DH was done. Well, after running for 38 mins, I was done. I walked it out and ended up getting in 50 mins of cardio. Breakfast was fruit and a dannon light & fit yogurt. Oh, I did taste my sons muffin. After that, back to the room to relax a bit. At 11:45, we went down to the pool for lunch. A seared ahi tuna salad, dressing on the side. Rachel and I stayed at the pool for 3 hours. It was so nice and relaxing. I totally forgot my magazines in the room, so I spent the whole time with her. While my son was golfing, my hubby took the other two to play tennis. i went to the shops, but they were closed. Got there at 4:15 and they close at 4:00. So, I went to Starbuck's & got a frappacino made my way. It was so good. For dinner, we went to an Italian restaurant. I had a spinach and beet salad with chicken and 2 small pieces of bread. It was really good. For dessert, they wanted gellato. I didn't order any, but my hubby left some of his over, so I had some. it was so good.
Sunday wasn't the best of eating days, but I guess we all have those. Breakfast started off with some lox, fruit, dannon yogurt and a bit of granola. Went to the Cabazon outlet mall and on the way home, stopped off at McDonald's. Not much to eat there, so I got nothing. And, of course, my bars were all melted, so ate nothing. When I got home, lost it a little. But, when I weighed myself this morning, I only gained 1/2 lb. I'm okay with that. I'm back on track today. Ate really well and exercised. Tomorrow is weigh in at Weight Watchers. Hopefully, their scale will be nice. I will let you all know tomorrow.
