Yesterday was hectic!

Thursday, August 19, 2010

The last blog I posted was about the wedding we went to on Saturday. I wasn't finished posting the pictures, but i hit the wrong button and posted the blog. Oh well. It's been crazy since then. Sunday morning, I just couldn't get up to go hiking. I was way too tired from getting home late from the wedding. So, I slept in until....7:15. Wow, so late, NOT! Anyway, DH was going for a short bike ride and then he said he was going to stop for coffee. I told him that if I left now, I could meet him there by walking. Well, I didn't get out of the right away. I started walking and once I hit the corner, I just took off. I ended up running the whole way, gradually up hill. Took me less then 30 minutes each way: 54 mins for a little over 5 miles. I felt so good. Came home, showered & then, took my eldest to Ikea & Target for apartment stuff. What a crazy place, Ikea. Never again!!

Monday and Tuesday were just normal days: usual workouts, some errands. Tuesday, my 15 year old started his 10th grade year. Carpool! Ugh! Tuesday night, i couldn't decide if I should put my alarm on to get up early to workout or take my chances and workout after I move my son into his apartment. Well, early one. I went on the treadmill for 35 mins, showered, took my son to school and was out the door with my oldest by 7:50 with a WW bar to eat. We had to be at the apartment by 9:00 b/c they were delivering the mattress between 9:00 & 1:00. We arrived at his apt. at exactly 9:00. Emptied out the car & the two of us tried to carry up his desk. Let's just say that one of his fraternity bros was passing by & I was off the hook. 2 major flights of stairs & a heavy desk is no fun. We walked probably a total of 3 miles. Back and forth, up and down, shlepping stuff. My biceps today are sore!! I didn't get home until 7:20. I was exhausted. But, his room was put together and we got everything done.

A few pics:

His bed all nicely done

The BATHROOM. Don't go in there!!

Elie's new ride!

Today, I worked out early in the morning and then, did absolutely nothing. i was so exhausted. Tomorrow is another day!

Busy Week that ended with a wedding!

Sunday, August 15, 2010

What a crazy week I had. Got in all my exercise this week, but, was crazy with getting ready for a wedding on Saturday. Had to find a dress for Miss Princess to wear & I didn't want to buy one. Finally, found a friend who had 2 to choose from. Then, had to get last minute stuff for the boys. Oh so crazy! But, the wedding was great. DH's cousin's son got married to the girl he was dating for 10 years. About time!!! The wedding was at the Four Season's Biltmore in Santa Barbara at 4:30pm. We left our house about 2:40 (it only takes 90 minutes to get there). Well, that's without traffic. We got there at exactly 4:30. Found the ceremony and sat until 5:00 when it finally started. It was very short & sweet. Love those type of ceremonies. Then, we walked over to where the reception was taking place. Cocktails (none for me) and hors devours (don't know how to spell that). Tasted one of everything: seared tuna, cavier blini, chicken w/ mango & fontana cheese pizza w/ truffle. They were all little, so, I felt good. Finally, at 7:15 , they let us into the hall. It was beautiful. We all got to sit together which was nice. The menu was great: spinach & ricotta ravioli (I only had 1), salad w/ papaya, choice of salmon or meat. I chose salmon. Dessert was an ice cream bar, kind of like Cold Stone. I had NOTHING!!! That's right.

Here are some pics:

And the moment truth....

Tuesday, August 10, 2010

So back to routine since coming back from vacation. Was at the gym on Saturday for 3 hours & then, on Sunday, went on my usual hike with my gym buddies. Got stuck at home for about 3 hours b/c DH went to play golf (& this is where I vent) & b/c he decided to buy a two seater car, can't take more then one child w/ him. So, who's car does he take? Mine. And, can I drive his car? No, it's stick & of course, he won't teach me on it. So, I was stuck at home, by myself for 3 hours. I did get a lot accomplished, but it's the principle. You want a two seater, deal with it, right? Ok, venting is over.

Today, I went to my WW meeting and....... I lost .6 after being on vacation for 10 days. I was very happy with that. Ya know, it's so funny. This was the first time on vacation that I did so well. Didn't gain anything, didn't over indulge with the food, nada! Then, I came home & totally lost it for the first few days. What the heck is that all about? I got myself back on track yesterday & bam! Lost at WW today. Feeling good about that. I didn't eat enough calories today: had a fiber one bar at the meeting, had a venti non-fat misto for a snack & then, for 3 1/2 hours, I was at school registration with my 10th grader. Yes, you read that right: 3 1/2 hours. I have never experienced that w/ the other two. Next year, he's taking himself!! By the time we got home, I was famished. Had 3 oz of tofu (love it!), sauted cauliflower and brocolli slaw. Was missing something when I was done, so I had a mini bag of popcorn. Love that stuff: 1 point for the whole bag. Later on, I had 2 of the WW candies (1 point each). For dinner, 4 oz. of tilapia and salad. Not sure what I'll have for dessert. Haven't decided yet.

Now, I have to catch up on the blogs I've missed today. Hope everyone has a wonderful night.

Until next time-

A loss after vacation??? Awesome!!! I'm hungry ... all the foods you mentioned sound delish. Are those WW candies the chocolate, pecan things? I saw those in a magazine. Yum! I'd want the whole box. Good for you for having two only. And, I also LOVE the popcorn. I eat the jolly time healthy kettle corn and it is YUM!!

Back to Reality!!

Friday, August 06, 2010

My alarm went off this morning at 6:30am. I could have slept for another hour, but I had to get back into my normal routine. Got dressed in my workout clothes, had a fiber one bar and off to the gym I went: Arctrainer for 55 minutes, shadow boxing for 35 minutes, strength training for 25 minutes, Arctrainer for 25 minutes. I know, CRAZY! But, it was good to get back into my usual routine. I was there for almost 3 hours.

Came home, showered, had an apple for a snack. DH came home from a meeting and we went to CostCo. Isn't it fun to go shopping there?? Came home, had a sandwich for lunch: orowheat sandwich thin, laughing cow cheese wedge, turkey and tomato. Then, it was off to my son to Sprint to get a new phone. He wanted the EVO & the guy I always go to at Sprint gave us a good deal. I have a very happy son!! Came home & caught up on my shows that I missed while I was on vacation. Veging out is always nice!

DH bar-b-qued chicken & made quinoa. It was very yummy. Now, I'm trying to decide if I want to go to Tutti Frutti with my son. Kind of tired and don't want to go out, but they all want. Can't decide. I'll let you know tomorrow.

Until then-

10th Day of Vacation and More!

Friday, August 06, 2010

Ok, so I didn't blog the last day I was on vacation. Those boys of mine wouldn't let me just sit by the computer and do what I wanted. I had to play cards!! It was fun. So, to the last day of vacation: Got up early and went to the gym. I did my own hour of spin class. It was good! Then, I took a full body pump class. It was good, but not great. I was planning on taking the next class which was spin/yoga, but they cancelled it. So, I did the elliptical for 40 minutes. I had to burn some extra calories b/c I knew the next day I wasn't working out. Got home, took a shower, and then, we went out for brunch/lunch. We went back to the 1st cafe we went to. It was just as good. Had an eggwhite omelet w/ turkey, mushrooms and spinach. It came w/ fruit and a muffin. Ate it all. I was hungry. We walked around for a bit and then went back to the house. Dropped Isaac off & went to the skating rink. I took video and pics while DH, Tzvi & Rachel skated. It was oh, so cold in there!!

Rachel and Daddy skating together

Thank goodness, we only stayed for 20 minutes. DH bribed Rachel to leave early if we would buy her a webkinz. It worked. Warmth!!! Stopped off at an ice cream shoppe. I got iced coffee b/c they didn't have any frozen yogurt. Ran to the store for ice packs and etc, and then, went home. Decided to pack then. Basically got everything ready to go, packed up the car & after all that, played some more cards. Those boys of mine were in a mood. Laughing and joking. I almost peed in my pants at one point. After awhile, we played some Scattegories while we ate dinner. Then, it was bedtime. Couldn't fall asleep for the 2nd night in a row. Tossed and turned. By the time I fell asleep, the alram went off at 5:30. Ugh! Got up, got ready and off we went in our packed car. My DH took pics of it, but I didn't. I'll have to get him to send them to me. DH drove the frist half & I got to sleep a bit. Stopped off at Jack in the Box & gas. Then, it was my turn to drive home. Got back at 2:00. Unpacked the car, unpacked the clothes & then, did nothing until DH decided to take me out for dinner. Sushi!!! Nothing like sushi in the valley! Ran to Borders, then to Tutti Frutti for frozen yogurt (got the kids order and brought it home). It was an amazing trip and we had a great time. Wondering were we're going next. DH & I already started talking about it!! Hopefully, we'll do something in December.

This was the pic my DH couldn't find of us at the stateline: California & Nevada at the same time!

So, that is it. Don't think this means no more blogging. I'll keep it up, I promise. I enjoy it!

Until next time-

It sounds as though you had a wonderful trip. Good memories. emoticonIt also sounds it was a very active trip. Good balance of food choices. You engaged in a greater variety of activity than you realize simply packing and unpacking. I enjoyed the pictures-thanks for sharing. Glad you plan continuing to blog. Updates are always enjoyed.

I love how it was a family vacation and you guys spent it together hiking, kayaking, and playing games - very cool. I can't wait until the little one is old enough to do everything we can do so we can do it all together.

You have inspired me to think about putting together a little Big Bear trip!
