Ok, so I didn't go cycling this morning. I woke up (at 7:00 again) and my quads & calves were sore. I'll bike another day & see the sights. We lazed around for a bit, made the kiddos some pancakes and discussed what we should do for the day. The verdict? Kayaking. Never done that one before & I figured a good way to get some different kind of cardio in. We got to the boat rental & were going to rent a boat with a tube instead, but they didn't have any more tubes left. So, kayaking it was. We all had to divide into 2: DH w/ the princess, Elie with his friend, Tzvi with his friend and Isaac got stock with ME! We all got suited up and had our lessons. Everyone got into their kayaks and off we got pushed. Well, Isaac & I didn't do so well. We couldn't figure out how to steer or anything and ended up circling back to the shore. The guy saw we were having trouble and helped us out. Once we got going, we had a blast. We were out for about 90 mins. You can burn a lot of calories in 90 minutes. There was one criteria I had: NO TIPPING MOM'S BOAT OVER!! They kept on telling me it's so shallow, come on Mom. Nope, I stood my ground.
After kayaking, we went out for lunch. That's the only picture I got for today. Wasn't taking my camera on the kayak.
We had a great lunch at the Driftwood Cafe. Ordered the fish tacos and only ate one. Got full right away (and we were all pretty hungry). After, we got some ice cream (Cold Stone) and I had the sinless sans ice cream. It was only 3 points for the small & it was pretty good. Came home, caught up on some emails, read a bit & now, we're waiting for the boys to come home from golf so we can make dinner. It's almost 8:00 and they're not home. We're hungry!! Not sure what's on tap for tomorrow, but you know, I'll blog about it.

I got to sleep in again today, 7:00am. However, I didn't go to sleep until 12:00 b/c I had to finish my book. Woke up and went to sit in the little nook again to start a new book. Yes, I'm a reader!! At about 8:45, DH and 15 y.o. son went on a bike ride. I decided to go running. Oh man, elevation didn't help. Ran about 3 miles. However, the last .25 miles was all up hill. I don't do uphills. Walked some, ran some. Came home and ate some breakfast. I was hungry by then. Oh, I was out for about 30 minutes. I read some email, sparked a bit and then, read some more. We decided to have lunch at the beach and then, hike. So, the beach:
They said it was pretty cold
Love that little girl
The boys playing football in Lake Tahoe
The water was just beautiful to look at. After, we packed up and got back into the car to go to Eagle Lake. It was a great hike. Lots of up!! But hey, you get to come down on the way back. Here are some pics:
Big bro helping little sis across
Matthew & Eric at the top of our rock climbing
Elie contemplating life
All the kiddies being goofy
my boys being crazy
We were out for about 3 hours: hiking, rock climbing, swimming in Eagle Lake (okay, not all of us went swimming). A beautiful day. Came home (after stopping off at the market again) and made some yummy dinner: chicken, pasta (which I didn't have), salad and sauted cauliflower. My DH made cookies (which the boys just said are burnt). Good, no temptation there. I'll have my WW latte bar.
Tomorrow, I'm hoping on going on a nice bike ride in the morning. My DH found a bike path for me. The roads scare me w/ the narrow lanes and cars. I'll let you know how it goes.

I got to sleep in this morning, til 7:00am. That is late for me. It felt good and definately needed it. I got up and went to sit a little nook and read my book. My DH was up for an hour already. He decided to go biking and I decided to sit and read. Mistake on my part, but, I wasn't in the mood to get up and go yet. Here's a picture of the boulder in the middle of the house. Take a look on the top:
Rachel decided to climb up the boulder. How fun is that!!
After DH, came back from cycling, the boys went to play some golf and we & the princess went into town. We wanted to find the visitor center to get some info on hikes. We did just that. We came home, had some lunch and after awhile went to Fallen Lakes. The ride was amazing. Very narrow road at times and not much space for cars going the other way, but, we made it there. The kids had a good time. Here are some pics:
Climbing up a waterfall
Across the lake
Crossing back over on the log
We were out for about 1 1/2 hours. At least I got my cardio in today. Came home and made dinner. Here's what they had:
The 2 friends that my boys brought. Enjoying their burgers w/ EVERYTHING on it!
I had a turkey burger w/ mushrooms and onions. I won't tell you what they had. It'll clog your arteries just reading about it. Trust me!! Or, you can use your imagination.
Now, it's 9:50pm and I'm so ready to go read my book. So, I think I will.

Yeah!! Vacation time. We left today at 7:40am to south Lake Tahoe. I got to drive the first leg of the trip & after lunch, my DH drove the rest. Nice to fall asleep for a few. Didn't sleep well last night, so it was good to close my eyes. The house is amazing here. It's 5,000 sq. feet, but only 4,000 is livable b/c there are boulders that take up 1,000 sq, feet. Pretty cool, huh? I'll take pictures and post them tomorrow. Too tired.
After we unpacked and checked things out, DH and I went to the market. Well, almost $500 later, we got home. That's what happens when you have 3 teenage boys and 2 friends. I don't count the princess. She doesn't eat anything like them. LOL We made the boys empty the car. So cruel, but, hey, isn't that the reason we have kids?? I think tomorrow we're going to hang out in the morning and after lunch, do some hiking. I'm hoping to do a little biking tomorrow. A little nervous b/c of the elevation (and to get back to the house, it's all up hill). We'll see. I have to be strong and keep up my workouts while we're away. I also promised myself that I wouldn't let my eating get so out of control. If I don't gain anything on this vacation, I'll be happy. If I lose, I'll be overjoyed. And yes, I brought my scale with me. I don't go anywhere without it. It comes on every vacation. But hey, I also brought my scale to measure my food, too, so it's all good.

I had a few more pictures to share from the wedding:
Me with the oldest and youngest
Dancing with her big brother
Getting her groove on
Today was a good day. Worked out at home this morning. Did my own spin class and it was good. Did a few errands before I went to WW. It was good: lost 1/2 a lb. I'll take it. Came home and called my friend to tell her I was ready to hit the road. She picked me and the princess up (my car was getting a hitch put on it, so I was carless) and off we went to the American Girl store. What a day the girls had. We got to the Grove and started off with lunch at Woodranch. I had 1/2 a tri-tip sandwich (didn't eat the bread, just meat), sweet potato fries and a side salad. Very content. Then, it was off to the American Girl. Rachel wanted to get her doll's ears pierced, so we did that first. Then, I told her she can get one thing. Dilemas, dilemas, dilemas. She finely chose a very cute plaid t-shirt dress that came with boots, a long sleeve shirts and a beanie. The doll looked adorable. She wanted the matching outfit, but I told No Way!
Rachel, Sarah, Lauren and Alli (Rachel's friend)
How cute are they???
We walked around a bit, got some Starbucks, did some shopping and came home. I got dropped off to get my car and Rachel went to her friends house. They didn't have enough of each other.
Now, it's way after dinner, my 18 year old went to Blockbuster, so he's picking up Rachel and I'm trying to figure out what to have for dessert: either a WW latte bar or blueberries with cool whip. Not sure yet. Decissions, decissions.
Eating went well today. I was happy with how the day went. Hoping this continues, especially when I go on vacation.
Until next time-
