So, 24 years ago today, I married my man!! We've done a lot since then: he graduated law school, we had 4 kids, we moved a few times, finally bought a house and just keep on loving each other!! An uneventful day, but, that's ok. We went out to dinner after my daughter's soccer lesson. And, yes, she came with us. That's what happens when you send your 3 babysitters to Europe for 9 weeks. He asked me what I wanted and I told him that when the boys come home, the 2 of us are going to go away for a long weekend. Sounds so inviting!!
Didn't do much else today. My nephew came over to pick up our house key b/c he's going to house/dog sit for us this weekend. We have my husband's work retreat. Relaxing for me, not so much for him. I'm not complaining!! My daughter is going to one of her soccer friend's house for the weekend. She has 2 games this weekend. We'll make the Sunday one!
Met with my trainer this morning and got in a really good workout. She killed my butt and legs. Then, I walked on the treadmill for 30 mins at a 22.5% incline. I felt so tall on that thing!!
Here's my low carb meals:
breakfast: oatmeal and egg whites
snack: protein drink w/ low fat string cheese
lunch: quest bar
snack: 1/2 c cottage cheese, tomato, cucumber, sunflower seeds and salsa
dinner: 6 oz barramundi (delicious!), steamed vegetables
my daughter wanted frozen yogurt, so I had some tastes with their taste cups.
Now, going to make myself some decaf coffee and relax.

Before I get to that, just wanted to write a little about yesterday. Started off the day with my weigh in. And, (insert drum roll here......), I lost 1.8 lbs!!! Ecstatic! That's a total of 6.4 lbs. I'll take it!! Busy, busy day. Woke up early so I could take care of the dogs and get a work out in. Went on the treadmill for 50 mins: walking on a 15% incline. Gets the heart going! Quickly showered and then, woke up my daughter and her friend to get ready for the game. Man, it was hot out there. Unfortunately, they lost, 5-3, but fought hard. This was a very tough team and I feel they did a good job. After that, we ran to catch the USC's woman's soccer team. 12 of the 15 girls went. Here's a pic of some of them:
And, here's one of my daughter getting an autograph from the player who wears her number, 7!
The girls had a blast. They were running around the field after, getting all the players autographs. So cool. And, USC won, 5-1. Even better.
Got home later then we thought and then, it was out to dinner with friends. We had a great time and an awesome dinner.
Today, my daughter was home b/c she wasn't feeling well. Got to ride my spin bike for 75 mins, Felt good. Got a late start to do errands and totally threw off my eating plan. One of those days!! Did get my p.t. exercises in though. Yeah! Still waiting to hear from them. Keeping my fingers crossed that I'm approved for more.
So, here's my cheat day. Nothing exciting, but I think that's good!!
breakfast: almond milk, low fat granola, protein powder and raspberries
snack: quest bar
lunch: baked sweet potato with greek yogurt, pirates booty
snack: grande skinny vanilla latte, Fiber one chocolate chip brownie bar (yum)
dinner: 1 c whole wheat pasta w/ homemade tomato sauce, salad, cod and fruttare bar
Still going to have a something to get my calories up a bit more! Not sure what yet.

Yom Kippur is over and I got to eat my meal. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Towards the end, I wasn't even hungry!! But, I did eat!!! I had cod, salad w/ low fat cheese and COFFEE! And, now, I'm full. Don't want anything. Funny how a little meal like that after not eating all day would just fill me up and I'd be happy. I am thirsty though. Need to drink something. My cousin and I went to Temple and enjoyed the services. Later in the afternoon, I took my daughter and her friend to my sister's house so she can hang with her cousins and I can schmooze with my sister. Passed the time away. My only thing I didn't like, no workout today. Was thinking of at least doing my p.t. exercises, but, I'm not feeling it. Hopefully, I'll get up early enough to workout before our busy day tomorrow: soccer game and then, woman's USC soccer game. Oh, and dinner with friends. But, that's for tomorrows blog!!
Yesterday was my last p.t. They're going to send in a progress report and hopefully get another referral. As I was leaving, I asked the main therapist when I can start running again.
"Does it still hurt when you do stuff?"
"What do you mean," I asked?
"Does is hurt when you do the elliptical, stairs, spin?"
"Yes, it does."
"Well, there's your answer!"
So, no running until it doesn't hurt when I do everything. However, he did say that when I do get to run again, I can't just go out and run. I need to take it slow, only run half of what I normally did and continue to take care of myself: exercises, stretching and icing. Oy, this is taking too long. Getting so antsy! But, don't worry, I'm following orders. So, UFEDAK85, we're going to have to hold off for a bit!!
Before I sign off and go to bed (I'm tired and want to make sure I get up early!), wanted to share a picture from my boys. They traveled to York today and sent this picture for their sister.
They decided to buy beanies from their sister's club soccer team with the logo on it. Every new place they go, they're going to take a picture with them on just for her! From left to right:

Aren't they so adorable?? Love them to pieces and just hoping they're having a great time. According to their blogs, I'm not too worried!!

After 2 days of low carbs, it was nice to have a high carb day. Today was a good day!! Got to text with 2 of my boys today. I think they're adjusting to being away and starting to have a lot of fun. I'm enjoying reading their blog and seeing what they're up to.
This morning, I met with my trainer and we did chest. I was pretty proud of myself: bench pressed 48 lbs. And, my trainer didn't have to help me at all. She told me that my form was perfect. Since I forgot my headphones at home, I decided to do cardio at home instead of the gym. Just can't get on those machines without some music to keep me going!! Got on my spin bike and just pedaled away for 65 minutes.
Had to run to REI to return some coats my boys didn't take with them. By then, I was starving, so stopped into Subway for lunch. Felt better! Picked up my daughter and she wanted Get Shaved so I had some shaved ice with sugar free syrup. Nice and refreshing!
After soccer practice tonight, my daughter and I went out for dinner. Dad wasn't home, so I wasn't cooking. Giving her 10 more minutes and it's bed time!
Here was my menu for the day:
breakfast: oatmeal and egg whites (creature of habit!)
snack : 1 c of Greek yogurt w/ grapes and raspberries
lunch: 6 in whole wheat turkey sub: turkey, lettuce, spinach, cucumber, tomato and mustard
snack: quest bar
dinner: Chipotle salad bowl: brown rice, a drop of black beans, chicken, salsa and a bit of corn
I'm full just typing that!!

Got to face time with my son today. I know, it's only been 3 days, but, it was nice seeing his face. And, my youngest actually texted me to find out about the dogs. I texted my middle one and asked him why he didn't text me? He said b/c he was with his brothers and read what was going on. So him!! Love him to pieces though.
Today was a good day. Had physical therapy this morning. Only one more session left and we'll see what happens after that. Hoping I can try running soon. Came home and got on the treadmill (walking at an incline of 15%) for 60 minutes, texted with the boys for a bit, showered and then, went for a mani/pedi. Love it!! Didn't have time to make lunch, so I brought a quest bar. Banana nut! Love these bars.
Now, drinking my coffee (had my snack and still hungry. Figured I'd make some coffee to stave off cravings until dinner!). Daughter has soccer clinic tonight from 6:45-8:30. (I'll be bringing my dinner along with me!!) She loves it! Oh yeah, my friend texted me, asking if I wanted 25 tickets to the woman's USC soccer game on Sunday? Uh, yes please!! Made my daughter's day. Going to ask the team if they want to join us. Stayed tuned for pics on Sunday!!

snack: 1/2 c nonfat cottage cheese w/ 1 1/2 tbls sunflower seeds
lunch: banana nut Quest bar
snack: chocolate protein shake w/ 1 tbls better then peanut butter, coffee w/ creamer
dinner: 4 oz yellow tail with salad and 1 oz low fat shredded cheese
If I'm craving anything, I'll probably have 2 nips candies.
