Back to work

Wednesday, August 15, 2012

Wow!! It sure has been a long time since I was here. I have been very lazy about diet and exercise for quite a while now and the scale shows it. I have gained about twenty pounds over the last two years since we left Michigan... always some excuse for why I don't have time to exercise or eat as I should. So now my clothes don't fit and things that were easy to do are getting harder again. .

I have been on vacation from my jobs for the last two weeks. Tomorrow I go back to work so this is a good time to get back to work on myself again.

I'm right with you - gained back the weight because I ignored it. I just re-started 2 weeks ago, and it feels great. I think you'll feel the same way, too.

Best wishes getting back into the swing of things. You can do it!!

I have only two days left of my vacation. SO today I am doing some laundry and house cleaning so tomorrow I can just be lazy all day. This time off has been OK. Just stayed at home. I had really wanted to go to LA to visit my oldest son and his family. He is set to deploy to Afghanistan in a few weeks and we have not gotten to see them for two years. Now it will be at least another year before we get a chance for a visit. THIS IS TOO LONG FOR PARENTS NOT TO SEE THEIR KIDS AND GRANDKIDS!!!!! emoticon

Taking Time Off

Wednesday, October 13, 2010

We have been back in Omaha for six months now and I am just getting back to SparkPeople. I have been going to the gym on a regular basis and eating fairly well, esp. since my daughter, the dietician, has been doing the cooking. But I have not lost any weight in a long time. I know the problem is giving in to snacks I don't need and not tracking calories. SO today I am resetting my tracker, and starting again to log my food intake. I am on vacation starting today. We are not going anywhere, DH is working a contract job so he does not have any benefits, no paid time off so we can't afford a real vacation, no trips or anything like that. So in addition to working on some projects like getting my kitchen reorganized I am having my own personal Biggest Loser Week. My goal is to burn at least 500 calories a day in arobic exercise and stick to no more than 1500 cal. Maybe a week of tracking closely will get the scale going down again.

I love the idea of your own BL week! how fun! a week where you can focus on YOU - and yes, projects around the house count, since they'll benefit you in the weeks and months to come.

you can do it! let us know how it goes!

Still Here.

Thursday, June 10, 2010

Hello Spark Friends!!

This is just to let you all know I am still alive. I have not been using the computer much lately. I have been going to the gym several days a week and have started taking classes there. I have tried a step class and a weight training class. They are both a new challeng and definately out of my comfort zone. Hopefully something wil help me loose some this summer. So far my weight is stuck where it has been for the last several months. It doesn't seem to make a differece how much I work out it just stays the same. I know I have gotten stronger. I just want the scale to go down , have a lower body fat percent, and fit into a smaller size.

I have not had a chance to look for a new gym yet and I doubt it will fit into the budget. So I am back to walking outside. At least I am walking again. I did 30 minutes on Sat. and walkied again today. It was so windy and rather cool so I broke it up into two sessions. I did get in almost an hour total so I feel good about that. It is a great way to find my way around my new neighbood. I found the park which is about a mile from my house so I think this wil become a regurlar stop.

Don't they say the best things in life are free? You are so awesome for getting out there and exercising despite life's little adversities.

Snap fitness is a GREAT gym for a VERY low price! I am broke as heck and I wouldnt dream of cancelling my membership!

I love walking to introduce myself to a new neighborhood, or even on vacation. Great job! And good luck!
