Camp WannabeFit Kickoff to Summer Scavenger Hunt

I dare say I am a bit behind. Being 13 hours ahead of ET, it was after work Thursday when I got the kickoff info. So, I took pics Friday by phone and yesterday by camera while on our mission trip to another island. We usually get back by 6 pm, but got back later due to crowded ferry and heavy traffic back home from the port. The phone pics, I'm not sure how to transfer to my computer, the camera ones will be okay once I find my card reader. My computer is broken on that side, but the card reader works.

Anyway, on Friday, I took a coworker to lunch at a garden restaurant, then on to the airport. I took pictures of flowers and butterflies. There are no robins (or hummingbirds) in Okinawa-maybe in mainland Japan; but I did attempt to take a picture of a bird, but he is not clearly visible.

On the mission trip, I took pictures of paper plates (not Dixie, but a Japanese brand) , flipflops (zoris) , sunglasses (on my friend) , a Japanese picnic table at one of the look out points, more flowers , a water bottle (in my friend's hand) , people walking down below (and up where we were) , a motorcycle belonging to a hiker who was climbing the "mountain" , a bicycle belonging to another hiker , a watering can and the new farmer's market .

I hope posting them when I get back from the hospital will do. I had church this am, and my bi-monthly doctor/med check this afternoon; but wanted to at least post the text before I get back.

*Update-the micro card from the phone would not come out, and the one from the camera is too big, so I am going to have to wait till work tomorrow to ask the IT guy for help.

**Update-the micro card pictures are still not here. I was able to find an USB cord that fit the hand-me-down camera, and it worked! Yea!

    Mary, you could check with Dar, but I think you should take the points for the items you found, even if you can't get the pictures posted. I saw in a couple of conversations that people did that.

As I said in my last blog, I only blog when I have to to so-to help my team in some way. This blog is to write about m action plan for after a setback. The only action plan that ever helps me is to tell myself to stop the poor choices and get right back on track the next meal. That minimizes any damage from the poor choices and better ingrains my new lifestyle eating plans.

Christmas Goals

If you know me, you know that I only blog when I have to do so. But it is important to have goals and to have them where I and others who will hold me accountable can see them!
Holidays are renown for wrecking the best diet and fitness efforts through unresistable treats and family and friend fellowship activities that draw us away from our health plans. So,...
During the holidays (November/December) I will:
Do my fitness activities-ST Mon/Thurs. walk/stairs at lunch, swim laps Tues/Fri/Sat
Eat within my eating plan template fitting in those holiday foods that are within my plan and avoiding those that are not.
Get 8+ hrs of sleep each night to keep the stress at bay
Take me time, again to avoid the stress associated with the holidays
Get a massage at least once while home for the holidays

If I stick to the above, I should easily weigh in with a loss during the holidays instead of the gain that usually follows holiday eating.

    Sounds like a great plan. My mom and I have one goal (in addition to our other goals) that we've been trying to stick to for the last couple years: Eat only the homemade goodies. We try to save the calories to indulge in things we can only get once a year instead of spending the extra calories to eat things we can get all the time. I hope you have a great holiday season! :)

    Resistance bands. You can change the amount of resistance easily with them and there's hundreds of moves you can do with them. :)
