Over A Hurdle

You know I have been on weight loss journeys so much I was almost sick of it ! I mean come on tell me the truth we have all been there and done that am I right? But it is up to us to get back on the horse and try again and again till it finally sinks in and when it does it feels like it is meant to be am I right?

Well that is what happen I fell off and I fell far but then it hit me it was time to get it right and I am so glad I did and I will tell you why..
I have lost 59 pounds but even with that I know I have a ways to go I was happy with that but the other day I had to go down to my husbands work to check in with our insurance it was to check my BMI and ask me if I smoked and no I do not smoke thank goodness for that. Well anyway my husband doesn't smoke and he has a low BMI why is this so important you ask well here goes the blow that really hurt me and opened my eyes even wider.. What our BMI and smoking issues where is how much we would have to pay on our health insurance we both got 450.00 off a year if we both hit our targets well I only hit one of ours but my husband hot both his and saved us from a real high rates and I earned a great deal for not smoking. The thing is thanks to me we had to drop our low deductible and and take the mid and that is a deductible of $1000.00 a piece thanks again to my BMI and I do feel discriminated against I watched others my husband works with get mad and most of the women who work there break down and cry including myself.
My husband come home and called insurance companies and several told him they would insure him but not me and he was so mad it wasn't funny not at me but the insurance companies.
But after talking to the HR Manager and she explained things to us she told me if I loose 10% of my body weight by next Fall I would get allot of reimbursement from the Insurance in the form a of a check and that is about $250 dollars just for loosing weight something I had already started doing anyway.
So here I am again working harder than ever cause what if my husband got laid off and we didn't have insurance I wouldn't be able to get it cause of my weight so off it goes.

I am on a mission and I will succeed you just stand back and watch.

Davy Jones

I grew up watching the Monkees and I was so in love with Davy his poster and Shaun Cassidy where always on my wall.. I will always remember Davy on the Brady Bunch when Marsha gave Davy a kiss on the cheek and he said ( How about one for the flip side) I always thought how lucky can you be?

Today was a sad day to hear of his passing it got me to thinking about how old I am and how time has passed so quickly. I do not have that poster anymore that one of my older cousins had given me but I still see it hanging there on my bedroom wall with that gorgeous smile on his face.

It always saddens me when someone one I grew up listening to passes away , like Joey Ramone , Davy Jones , Johnny Cash and the list goes on and on..

So I send my prayers out to Davy and all those loved ones he left behind and I will end by saying thank you for the good times , the music , and the laughter yourself and the Monkees gave me growing up..

On My Way

Hello I am back I have been on vacation with the hubby and it was great I just love spending time with him he is the best makes me laugh when I feel down and loves me with all his heart no matter what.
Now I have lost 6 pounds in the last 2 weeks I am so happy heck what am I saying? I am sailing above the clouds . It feels so good to be able to walk and loose weight and I think being able to walk has been what has made me to be able to loose weight like I have.
I have to go for my A1c the 14th my sugar levels are doing good after eating my sugar is only 145 heck it was 350 almost 6 weeks ago without eating so again happy!

Well took Maysa to have her spayed and boy it has been nothing but trouble we took her 2/15 and I got a call after opening her she had a little blood in her urine so they had to see what was going on they think she had a broken blood vessel after they pushed on the bladder to make her pee before they cut her open so they kept her over night kept an eye on her and then the next they called said she was doing great so we went and got her and she came home with an e collar so she would not chew the wound.

Then we had to take her back a couple days later her wound was coming open it was put together with surgical glue so I found out they had run out of staples and used that instead and she had an allergic reaction to the glue so when I took her back she had staples put in her and had to have those another week so she goes back Wednesday to get those out other than that she is doing great.

Gave me a scare thought I was going to loose my baby , they think we are over protective parents lol but hey your pets if you love them are like your kids am I right? You worry and want to do what is best for them. Better to be safe than sorry!

Anyway that is what has been going on in my life and I am glad to be back..

About my knees

The new meds the doctor gave me are a medical miracle I can now bend my knees and not walk like a webble wobble I do not have the pain in my knees. But my muscles in my legs feel like I have been in a serious work out on Biggest Looser lol.. I am so darn happy I just can not believe it.
Okay here is the drug I am taking DICLOFENAC 75mg 2 times a day it is the generic for Voltaren 75mg I feel like a new person.
The metformin is working for me also so I am happy about that also.. We take Maysa our dog to vet Weds to get her spayed and get all her shots..
My hubby is on vacation all this week so I may not be on to much this week so I can spend time with him.

Oh Happy Day

I went to the doctor Wednesday for my 2 week check up and I didn't know I was supposed to start out on my metformin @ 500 mgs in the morning then 1000mgs at night , cause he had put that I was to take 500mgs in the morning and 500 mgs at night on the prescription.. So now I am on the right track and I am to move up to 2000mgs a day next week..

I guess you are wondering where the Oh Happy Day comes in right? Well I finally, finally found a Dr to listen to me about my knee pain and finally one who gave me something for it and to help me so I do not sit around and cry he gave me Diclofenac75mg 2 times a day, he said if this didn't make me feel better that he would give me Cortisone shots in my knee I hate needles so please pray for me that these pills work for me.

I have to tell you all what my hubby got me for Valentines Day it is so pretty , it is a quilt charm bracelet it has 6 charms on it and then he took me to dinner as a surprise he is the best hubby.. Oh and for all of you who may not know what quilts are they are the paintings done in quilt style that you see on houses and barns and so on..

Sorry I haven't been on I have been on bed rest on account of my knee but it feels much better now..
