Dr. Oz, my favorite doctor says in his diet book to find some favorites for breakfast and lunch and to stick to them. He says that a lot of variety tends to stimulate your appetite. I have tried this, and it works!

So I am in the process of figuring out what I can have each day for breakfast and lunch that is healthy, easy and good! then at dinner I can have more variety.

Somebody else said on these pages that you should eat until you are no longer hungry instead of eating until you are full. That has stuck with me and I am going to follow that too. Thanks, whoever you are.

    I, too, am a fan of Dr. Oz. I think what you are right. I try to have the same breakfast and lunch each day with little variation. I think it helps me feel full when I know that is all I have for the meal. I haven't been able to start that process with dinner, though. That's harder, but I agree with you. If I follow that plan for the early meals, I'll have a little flexibility in the evening. It's hard not eating till I'm full, but I'm trying wait time. After I eat my initial serving, I wait for a little while before going back for more. Sometimes I realize I've had enough...not always.

    Dr. Oz is one of my favorites also. Sounds like good advice. I also have something to suggest that has been working for me. Instead of finishing everything on your plate, I have started to leave a bite here and there, so you aren't eating as many calories. Seems to work. Sounds like you're on the right track, so keep on chugging. emoticon

slow and steady

The last two days were good days! I am re-discovering that taking a few minutes to plan my menu for the day equals success. I am feeling good, so good that I amended my goals. Instead of losing 13 pounds by Christmas, I went ahead and looked at it long range. It is going to take me 113 weeks to lost the weight at 1 lb per week. I know I can do this! An added benefit is my blood sugar has been more in control.

It is going to be a challenge today to fit in lunch, my schedule is crazy. So, I will do the best I can.

    that's how I'm looking at it..
it's a change of lifestyle and how I view food - loss on the scale will be a 'side' benefit instead of a goal.

Day one, filled out my pages and made a plan for today. I need to do this! I am working on improving my self-esteem so I know that I am worth the effort. Sort of scared.

Join some challenges and make some friends. We are all here for the same reason and we all need support and motivation.

    Don't be scared. You have come to the right place as there are lots of people here to help you do this. Every one of us were the same at first. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!! Make sure you use the nutrition and fitness tracker and you'll see results. There is so much information here that will help keep you motivated.
