HERE IS TO CHANGE

Where would one start? I have had a very busy time since my last blog. So many things had happend the last few years.

Firstly we have moved back to our home country South Africa from Saudi Arabia. We stayed with my dad for a while until my husband could get work in South Africa which he did get in April 2012. Not long after him I found work at an attorneys office in March of 2013.

In June of 2013 we moved from my fathers house into our own little oasis which we can call home. Whilst working the weight just came down and now I am riding a rollacoaster between the two weights.

This year I promised myself that I will make my goal if it goes slowly I will stick to it no matter what and my husband is going to do it with me this time. The best News ever is that he stopped smoking now for 3 years and 4 months which I am very proud of but not so much for the weight he as gained..

Well I am not going to be a stranger any more will start from monday with my new Life style so watch this space. Have a God blessed NEW YEAR EVERY ONE. Hope to see you around my page for support and motivating me.

  


It is time to get Serious

Hi all!

It has been a long time since I sat down and jotted down what is going on in my life and with my weight. Well I have reached a point were you feel enough is enough and that it is time to take the figurative bull by the horns and do something.

I did loose some of the weight before I went on vacation. Then one thing after another start going wrong. First it was the maintance with the house then it was the internet and it felt like it never stops. I so wanted my husband to do the weight loss with me but it is a lonely battle that I am losing so today I am recommitting myself to the program and sticking to it no matter what happens or what lifes throughs at me again. If I am not doing this no one else is going to do it for me but I can not do it on my own so I am going to need all your support and at least one to kick my ass (figurativly) from time to time to see how I am doing.

I need you all to push me like I never had been pushed before in my life to do my best and to stay motivated along the way. Thank you all for being there when I needed you the most so now I it is time to get SERIOUS who is with me??????

    Hi Martie. I'm on my own too. My wife is not into the weight loss thing.

In my view, weight loss is nothing more than "calories in/calories out" ... that's it. Today is my 466th day of using the nutrition tracker to manage those numbers. Good luck to you!!

    I'm with you. I have learned with my hubby that if I lead he follows. sometimes he doesn't even know he is following. He has high cholesterol and I have changed a lot of things for him. Sometimes what they don't know can help them. You have taken the first step to helping yourself, you came to spark. This is a journey and sometimes it is not very fun or easy, but worth it in the end. Good luck to you.

Update on my weight lost

Well here it goes since I started it went slow and still does but I am not going to let that get the better of me or to let it get me down. I have set my goals and I am going to stick to them no matter how long it is going to take me to be at my goal weight.

Well here is the latest measurements and weight lost
Start date: 03/03 : 107.3 kg (236 lbs)
Bust: 107 cm (42 inch)
Waist: 94 cm (37 inch)
HIps: 117 cm (46 inch)
Thighs: 75 cm (29 inch)
Upper arm: 37 cm (14 inch)

22/08 : 100.2 kg (220.89 lbs) TOTAL LOST SO FAR IS 7.1kg (16 lbs) and 59 cm (24 inch)
Bust: 97 cm (38 inch)
Waist: 82 cm (32 inch)
HIps: 105 cm (41 inch)
Thighs: 54 cm (21 inch)
Upper arm: 33 cm (13 inch)
(Please note that these measurements and weigth is not deducted from each other yet it is a comparison of when I started up to now.)

The other promise I had made to myself now is to get more active on the site as well whereby I was neglecting some of my responsibities to track my exercise and my food so I will be coming more active on the site again and visiting with all of my friends here that supports and motivates me to do the best that I can

To all of you that stood by me and encourage me to look foward and not to the easy way out by using dietarry supplement like diet pills and such thank you for all your support I value it very much, Thank you for all of you because without you I would not be able to do this on my own.

Feeling depressed and failing

Well started with my program a few months ago and time is running out for me. I had six months to lose over 50 kg. The thing that depresses me the most is hearing about friends that lose 50 kilos over a period of 5 months but considering all they used diet pills and supplements to assist them. I am not using any of that to assist in my weight loss I am doing it al naturally without that assistance. Now looking ahead I have less than 3 months for loose 45 kilo's, for the doctors to help me with IVF.

Worst part of feeling this way is that I am doing everything that I am suppose to but all that is going is the centimeters the kilo's is not coming off as I am hoping for. This is a sacrifice that I need to make to become a mother. It breaks my heart not being able to be one yet and to look at pictures of friends with their kids and babies. A program that really touches my heart is "Birth stories" On how mothers give birth and the miracle of life.

    maybe God has decided now is not the right time for you to get pregnant, keep on working at your program like you have been, the weight will come off and you will be able to get your IVF. i LOVE to watch birth stories too, it's a great show

    Oh sweetie....You can do this!!! Just take it, one day at a time!! Thats all we have! God has his hand on you...He will see you threw this! Just put your trust in Him, and thank Him for the inches you have lost and He will do the rest!! Wake up, everey morning and say "Thank you God, that today is the day, I am going to do what I need to do, to reach my goal." Than at night before you go to bed, "Thasnk you God, that I am one day closer, to reaching my weight loss goal." We are ALL behind you!! I would want you to STOP watching the baby shows on tv, and instead...exercise and stay in prayer. Change up your exercise routine..I had to! Dont put anything in your mouth, that will NOT help you, reach your goal. I will be praying for you, my friend!!! Hang in there!!! :) HUGS!!

    It seems to me you've succeeded. It seems to me that 50 Kilos is a log to lose in a short period of time. It's hard because you have a real goal for a real reason with a real deadline. It's an important goal. If you are losing cms. what that means is the you are converting fat to muscle. Muscle boosts your resting metabolic rate, which will eventually help you burn fat. Consider changing your exercise program. more areobic and less weights. and then change it back. I know you love the tv program about women giving birth... I watch it too. But it makes me cry because I will never do that. I'm not going to do it. Not in this lie. So I watch it and cry. It brings me down. So I've been writing more and watching TV less and talking with my girl-friends more and exercising more and My mood is improved. Don't do things that make you sad. (They make us eat) I need to shrink for different important reasons than you. Being positive and gentle with yourself, will get you much closer to your goal than getting upset and depressed about it. Choose to be inspired choose to do your very best, choose to praise yourself about how well you are doing. Choose to accept what happens. You will get closer that way...

    Hang on! I heard someone say once, "When your at the end of your rope, tie a knot!" I know it seems like you won't make it, but you never know when your body will just kick in and shed the weight. I have been on my weight loss plan for nearly 6 months, but didn't lose anything the first 4. Then in Mid June it started coming off. I was sitting at a 10 pound weight loss the last time I weighed. I won't weigh again until the end of August but hope that 10 more pounds have come off. Give it time. The weight will come off. It will surrender to the pressure of all the exercise and healthy eating soon enough.

    You are NOT failing! You're becoming stronger every day, even if the scale isn't moving at the pace you'd like. Your friends who are taking pills will unfortunately possibly pay a price for it later. You're taking the healthy path, and it will ultimately pay rewards for both you and your future child(ren). Don't be discouraged, and PLEASE don't consider yourself a failure because you definitely are not.

Progress is slow

Well just an update on my progress just lost about 4.9 kg (10.80 lbs) and 49 cm (19.29 inches)

My husband has lost about 15 kg (33.06 lbs) it is frustrating it seems that I have reached that dretful platue that is keeping me from reaching my goal.

    Hang in there you are doing great!!!!!! Slow is always best !!! I lose slowly to and I don't have any of the skin issues that some have and I stay the course . It is not a race between you and your hubby (men lose faster then us ) Womens bodies aways think we have a child to feed no matter what age (LOL)

    The key word is progress, you've lost weight. Plateaus are common and it just means time to examine your choices again. When you'll get to goal, maintaining your weight is a plateau too the difference is staying at a weight you prefer. Not gaining is good. emoticon
