Finding Myself

Monday, October 22, 2012

This journey has been about finding myself!!

I have learned to make healthier food choices and take care of me first then others. I have found that when I fall of the wagon

and eat that fast non healthy food all it takes is one great home made meal for me to ask what are we thinking the taste alone is so much better.

I have never been a fan of working out or jogging/running but this year I did my first 5K and jogged almost the entire thing and LOVED it!! I also like the feel of pain in the muscles the next day. I push on it all the time and go yea I did that!! Strange right? :)

I have become a totally different person on this journey and am just so much happier with the new me. My attitude and personality has totally changed. I have gotten rid of not only the rubbish food but the rubbish people in my life and could not be happier.

I never thought I would feel the need to workout and miss it when I don't but i have proved myself wrong. This past week I have not had as much time because school is so crazy right now and I just can not wait to get back on track.

Congratulations on the 5k! That is great! I have yet to participate in things like that. I would love to do one with biking.
And congratulations on your "spring cleaning" of rubbish!
I had bad food yesterday out of convenience, and oh my gosh it wasn't that great. I guess when you you eat it often you think it's good. What are people thinking, right?

Great reflection....and so positive! And its amazing when you start making more healthy choices in your life you realise part of it is not only what you do...but the people you surround yourself with. Congratulations on having the strength to make those changes!

Getting on Track!!

Tuesday, July 17, 2012

I NEED to make today be the day I get back on track!! I have fallen and need to get back up!!

I have been so wrapped up in school and other life issues that I have once again fallen to the bottom. Not only that but I have put on a few pounds :-(

Today is the day to turn this around and start being that person I want to be and the person I was loving more and more every day.

Baby steps. Set small goals and reward yourself (without food) for meeting them. Build one fast break goal at a time: 8 glasses of water, fruits and veggies, whatever works for you. Progress, not perfection!

So mad at myself!!

Thursday, April 12, 2012

We are doing round two of biggest loser and I am so upset!! We had our first weigh in yesterday and I gained. How do I go from winning the last one and in the 11 weeks never being below the yellow line to being below on our very first weigh in. GRRR

To make matters worse I am dealing with this horrible cold and can not breath much less work out. I don't dare attempt the gym because I don't want to spread it around and going up and down the stairs at home is leaving me winded. I sure hope this passes soon so next Wednesday AM I can see some good changes on that scale. :'(

It's only round two and give yourself a break, you're sick. You're going to recover and go back to kicking butt in BL round 2. Hang in there! =) Feel better.

Thanks everyone for the awesome support!! I did just get a new trainer about a month ago and he is killing my muscles so it may be that.

It helps to hear all these encouraging words.

Thanks again!!

I hope you feel better soon. There can be many reasons there was a gain. Hormones always get me certain times emoticon I am sure next week will be better.

Hang in there. I just got over with a bad illness that I did not dare to even exercise through, my head was sooo achy and congested. I joined the Biggest loser challenge coming up, it will be my first one, so i hope I can do as good as everyone else. Dont sweat on the gain, it can be factors that will possibly pay off within the next few weigh ins. emoticon

Thanks so much! I keep telling myself that it is just hard to see not only a gain but to be in the bottom.

There could be several reasons why you showed a weight gain, so keep working at it, and next week you may notice a significant weight loss.

So I have an issue!!

I know I should give up my diet soda but it is just so darn hard to do. It is even harder for me because the bottle says right on it zero calories.

Any suggestions on how to do this?

Sometimes I am just so sick of water!!

I have managed to give up pop. I started it this month, I just end up drinking water.

You can try the new pop out there that is sweetened with Stevia I know you can get it at Whole foods but I'm sure other places as well. They have a Dr pepper flavor. If I do find that I can drink pop again, and not go back to the addiction of it I will only drink those. I went cold turkey and drank caffeinated tea to keep the wean off caffeine. I don't drink coffee so it was the tea which I sweetened with Stevia of course.

Also, when I drink water, I drink room temp water, that way I can drink it easier and get more in. I don't care for cold water and the half a calorie one might lose for drinking cold water is not worth it.

I can truly feel your pain. I love soda, but I just try to force myself to drink my water before I get thirsty and grab a Dr. Pepper (my weakness). I've also started using Crystal Light in my water sometimes, although the zero calorie powders still have artificial sweeteners, so not sure if that's much better. Anyway, good luck and hope you can find something that works for you.

I recommend the sugar free Hawaiian punch singles for water bottles they have. You can't even tell they are sugar free, and taste just like regular punch. When I get sick of water sometimes I just drink one of those, or the crystal lite ones aren't bad either. Hope this may help, emoticon
