Where do we start? Ok first- conquered my first trail road race- 5k. It was VERY challenging, but I am proud to say I was able to maintain under 8 mm pace!!! I came in 14th out of 77 runners /walkers and was 6th woman overall I think? Challenging course and I did enjoy it but man was it hard. Later my friend that also ran hosted my family and I for a BBQ at her house. Great fun as another good friend came by too with 2 of her 3 kids. All of our kids played awesome together and we had a great time. After this- my kids and I played in our yard since it was so lovely here. They jumped in the jumpee house, road their pretend jeep, etc. Next we were not done with fun- I took them to the park for another hour of running around. After that we shopped for flowers to plant and they helped me decorate our front stoop with flowers and this cute yard flag stick thing. They again went out in the back yard as I prepared a nice healthy dinner- baked haddock, homemade mashed, and mixed veggies. I am under calories today so I may partake- ICE CREAM. Enjoy your night. Weekend- aAAHHHH

Today was my first time LEADING the boot camp. I think I did an ok job. We had two newbies who I think are just getting back into exercising. I just suggested everyone run or walk a mile to warm up. After we did a quick circuit- walking lunges, bicep curls - 10-20 reps depending on your abilities, followed by reverse lunges on the bleachers. We did three sets of those. Then I had them move to some core work. We did modified push ups- 10-20, followed by situps with a weight- I used 8 lbs, then sit ups with a weight- side to side movement. Again 3 sets. That was it. I think I should have done either one more set of three or made them walk or run two more laps. It was a nice overall work out though. It was actually my 6th day AND I have a road race tomorrow morning. Didn't want to kill it the day before. I am going to go do the Wii Fit now too. Later we are going over my sister in law's house for Smores and a fire in their back yard. The kids are pumped. Hope all are enjoying this windy, but sunny and lovely Saturday.

Celtics- Bring on the Magic

Well this week I ran 5 miles 4 times. Once outside and the rest treadmill. Today I also did my modified push ups and situp sets- 3 sets of 15 as I was running out of time today. The Celtics took it from Cleveland last night. YIP YIP. I was in bed for 8:30pm, but I did stay up a little after 9 to watch some of the game. SO AWESOME. Now we need our Bruins to follow suit and beat Philly tonight in game 7.
I will try to weigh in this weekend. My clothes are fitting great and when I did take a quick read I was 156 still so that is good. I am getting a bit angry about not going lower than my low weight- 155. Frustrating but I am doing the right things so I guess I just have to stay at it.
Tomorrow morning is our Mom's Boot Camp. We also have a road race Sunday- 5k. Busy exercise week- just the way I like it. I had two pieces of Veggie Pizza at work just now - with a small side salad. I should have only had 1, but it was so good. Will go light tonight- I guess a salad or just something light. Have a superb weekend. Sun is supposed to be shining!

    This one is in Tewksbury, MA. It benefits the local horse farm- they do a lot of therapy riding for kids with CP or Autism. It's a beautiful course I am hearing so looking forward to it. GO GO GO for you at your race!

Thursday - OH YEAH

Had a good day today. Another ST day-started with a 5 minute warm up run on the treadmill, and then mixed it up working with lunges, biceps, tri-ceps, and legs. Also did 3 sets of sit ups and threw in some fast paced stationary bike sets. After I did another 10 minutes on the bike. Felt good = especially nice to have my tunes back. New Ipod is wonderful. Today we took a coworker out to lunch- to the fabulous Abe & Louie's Steakhouse. It was great. Made good choices during the day- and enjoyed the WHOLE salad I ordered- called Tomato & Steak Salad. Its basically- about 4 lettuce leaves, with 4 large tomato slices, then fresh blue cheese is crumbled across the top. NExt on the side is chopped vidalia onions, and finally DELISH 4 ounces of a nice steak. All is drizzled with Balsamic Dressing. It is HEAVEN on EARTH kids. I wish I could post a picture. I ate all of it. Heck I almost ate my plate. The waiter surprised us by bringing by a GINORMOUS piece of chocolate cake with chocolate frosting for the 6 of us to share. It was my coworker's birthday. I had a couple of bites - not too many. Still in my calorie range.
Thank goodness. Hope all are having a fabu day.

    The lunch was seriously- FANTASTIC. I have to say- it's my favorite salad. I love one other- at this Thai Restaurant - Montien's. It's fabulous- spicy steak salad. SO SO SO SO good.

Andrea saves the workout day

My pal at work Andrea was a real peach. She lent me her IPOD to use until my replacement one arrives for working out this week. WAHOO. One bad thing- her IPOD does not have a shut off or pause function- broken, and as well- I had to listen to her and her son's music. DIdn't want to rock the boat and load my tunes onto their IPOD for fear they'd lose their stuff. Let me tell you- everyone has different taste in music. Theirs- off the charts different. I had Cher, Elton John, Fergie- my friends music, to her son's love of rap- LL Cool J, Drake, Lil Wayne, etc. Ok- some of this I can take, but some- OOOF. I again was running 5 miles, so it was nice to have something other than the local newscast to get me through it. After a couple heavy rap songs though in a row, I was praying the minutes would fly by. Again- you really can not hit a gift horse in the mouth can you? Not very nice, but I am just sayin....
Did have a good rest last night so I ran pretty fast- again under 41 minutes so I am looking good for my 5k race this coming Sunday. I am hoping for a PR? Better than my last -23:38. I would LOVE if I could beat that. We shall see.

    I run races with out the IPOD and do enjoy it. I work out at 5am so I sometimes need that extra PUSH to get going and keep a nice pace.... It works splendid

    Yes everyone has different taste in music. Wouldn't it be boring if we all like the same stuff. Sounds like you are in good shape for your race. Have fun! emoticon

    I actually have learned to love running without music. Its kind of solitary and calming. Try it... on a shorter run...
