Can't be bothered...

Monday, June 18, 2012

Have had to drag myself out of bed today and "feel" I can't be bothered...

This is because I went running yesterday and my body is in "oh my god" mode and can't believe I'm starting another phase of my getting better journey...

In a moment I am going for a walk to get my "mind" back into normal mode as I "feel" like laying down all day and I have loads I need to do...

Until tomorrow...

You always feel better after exercise..just tell yourself how happy you will feel when it is done. Good job on your exercise plan.

I'm taking some quiet time this morning; I know I should be down in the workout room because I have a busy day and evening all planned out. Ran yesterday as well - sometimes you just need to take a moment and breathe!

Putting on weight before it goes down...

Sunday, June 17, 2012

At the start of my 30 day exercise blitz I decided to eat more veggies and spent last Sunday preparing food for the week and went up in weight by 2lbs...

Knowing this is a temporary blip and that I have added volume and not calories makes me feel OK rather than devastated...

And cooking this morning I decided to make ratatouille for the first time in my adult life and I reckon I have cooked enough for the next month rather than the next week...

My waist has gone down by half an inch and I have started running - happy days...

And my estimate of times to do stuff is becoming much more realistic because I have spent 3 hours in the kitchen, chopping, preparing and batch cooking my calories for the coming week - and yesterday I bought extra Tupperware boxes as I didn't have enough...

We have also bought nicer rice this week and again this is because it's really easy to cook, weigh into portions and then eat as and when necessary...

And I am going to Regents Park this afternoon to go running...

And the sun has reappeared in London...

Happy days...

Until tomorrow...

Pleased...

Saturday, June 16, 2012

Pull ups
Push ups
Press ups
Leg raises
E
A
Sit ups
E
Dumbells...

It all makes a difference...
Learning how to move again helps you become pleased with the way you look, the way you feel and the best of it is that it's simple...

Last year I couldn't do one pull up... This year my world record is 26 consecutive... And then I got bored and stopped...

And because I use a diary I noticed and decided to start running for a while and am on day 2...

Happy days...

Until tomorrow...

Starting a 30 day exercise blitz...

Friday, June 15, 2012

One of the things I love about staying focused now is "working out" how to work out and fit it into my current style of life...

The next big thing - or the thing for the next month is learning to run...

We have booked a holiday and re-started "super-focusing" last week and me and the family are sitting down to diarise fitness sessions for every day for the next 30 days...

I am going to start my day in a tracksuit and then get changed when I have finished and we are going to use a local running track at Regents Park in London and we are starting today... Hooray...

Until tomorrow...

What a great idea! I am pretty disciplined when it comes to getting in my workouts and have -workout a.m.- on my daily calendar. However, when other things get in the way, it's easy to put aside the a.m. workout, unfortunately I rarely replace it with a p.m. workout emoticon.

I am going to borrow your idea and make up a calendar for the remainder of June - writing down the specific workouts/goals for each day. It's time for discipline and recharging of my goals as well! Thanks for a great idea!

Cutting out the crap... And having a nice day instead...

Thursday, June 14, 2012

Cutting out the crap "in all areas" is one of the signs of getting better. Since focusing every day on my goal of becoming fitter, stronger and healthier I have learnt that the simple things work.

I have also learnt that it is as important to learn what not to do (ie: cutting out the crap) and that you need to learn to do something different instead.

An example that springs to mind is when I'm stressed I now go for a walk instead of eating something.

Another example is not buying food more than once a week when we do our weekly shop. It cuts out all of my old spontaneous eating... At the garage when filling up the car... At a fast food chain because I'm with the kids... In a hotel lobby because I'm meeting a new client... At a training event because the biscuits are "free"...

There are of course exceptions and slips but on the whole my principles are working and I'm continually learning...

And the good news is that it's so simple to create good feelings by "being nice" instead of eating nice... And you can still eat nice and enjoy your food if you learn about calorie density, macro-nutrients and budgeting...

Have a nice day...

Until tomorrow...

Weekly shopping and being prepared will inevitably help the old budget, too! Thanks for the insight.

Very great advice. The more you make the small changes necessary, the more they add up to feeling great. The more you want to sing it from the rooftops!!! emoticon

Good thoughts to reflect on today! As you said, the key is FOCUS...and that is where I am struggling; focusing on one area and letting others slide. I need to focus on the whole picture and start moving forward once again!
