I made my 1st goal!!!

Saturday, August 01, 2009

I made my weight goal to lose 5% by July 30!
Goal 190
Actual 188
My Daniel Fast I am sure had something to do with it but I still did it!
I feel much better and I am in my size 12's again, not squeezing in them even.
My next goal is another 5% by Aug 30.
If I've learned nothing else in all of my weight loss attempts of the past, it is be realistic. I didn't gain these extra 50 pounds all at once and I can't expect to lose them all at once, (although it would be nice).
So onward I go:
5% goal by Aug 30
29 days to go!
It's only 1/3 of a pound a day.

I think because you have a plan that you will continue to see results. It is likely the sole reason I have been a failure on this journey. I have nothing written down! I think if you seek achievable, realistic goals that you can expect to sustain your successes over time. It is about habit re-shaping, not diet but a lifestyle change!

Here's a quote I recently found and it, in my thinking, suits SP members so well.

“Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement.” ~ Golda Meir

I just love that quote. I wish nothing but further success as you move along on your journey toward your goals.

I'm really doing it!!!!

I am so excited and proud of myself. I decided to buy Alli to get me going, (I have a very dear friend who has lost 40 lbs in 3 months with it.) After reading her literature I made the move, I spent $68.00 on the Alli Refill Pak.
I read that I was supposed to log my eating habits for a week or so, just to see how I REALLY eat. I did this and saw that I am a carb/fat/sugar nightmare.
I still did not start the Alli pills as I was soooo affraid of the side effects (I was on the presc. years ago so I am familiar). I have gotten lots of encouragement from my fellow Sparkers (thank all of you so much).
Then when I finally got over my fear and decided on a start date, my Pastor announced that he felt those who are intrested, should go on a 21 day Daniel Fast. A WHAT!!!!
So well needless to say I am very interested, as I am sure that with God's help I can beat this weight/health thing I've been fighting for so many years. So I researched the ways and discovered I really like eating this way, and guess what! There is no fat in what I am eating, I do not feel hungry (I mean real hunger pains, I haven't felt hungry in years), I love the way I'm eating and I can really see me changing many of my past habits on a permanent basis (no I'm not saying I'll never eat meat or sweets).
I have only been doing this for 3 days and already I feel different around my middle body and that is very encouraging!
I just wanted to get this all out on a page so I can read about me and my progress when I need a pick me up. Thanks again for all the great support.
