Two Weeks

Thursday, January 29, 2009

I have been into the Biggest Loser contest at Curves now for two weeks. My team has not lost a single lb yet. One person on another team has already lost 8 lbs. Does this make me feel bad. No! it doesn't. I know that eventually the lbs will come of, if not in this 6 weeks then later. I might feel bad if my Fiance' didn't keep telling me I am NOT fat, that I have an hour glass figure etc. Sure I do! the hour glass is there but the measurements and bust 42, waist 33, hips 44 and weight right now is 176. My knees are not happy emoticon especially during Tai Chi class when sometimes all my weight is on my right leg.

Baking and not eating

Saturday, January 17, 2009

My fiancÚ likes his sweets and I am always baking for him, cookies, pies, and cakes to have on hand either here at my house our at his house. Sweets have been my downfall all along so it is going to be hard if I am still baking and trying to to eat emoticon them or to eat them in moderation. How do you count the calories on home baked goodies. Especially since I will be living with him in March. Hmmmmm, maybe I need to put him on a diet too. emoticon

This is a real challenge! It's so hard when someone in the house enjoys their sweets but never gains a pound from them! The only way you can get a calorie count for homemade if the recipe doesn't list the nutrition facts is to translate each ingredient into a total then divide by number of servings. You might want to post your recipe here at Sparks and let the calculator do the work for you. Then you can print it out and always have it on hand.

Good luck

Hey! I saw this was your first blog and I wanted to say hello. I just started too and I wanted to say keep up the good work. Don't let today get you down remember this:

I read a biography of a woman that lost 190 lbs. She said she didn't lose all 190 at the same time. She lost one lb 190 times. If you think of it like this it makes it seem so small. Just think... Will this help me lose one pound?
