yesterday's wake up call

I woke up yesterday with the worst migraine I've had in months.....it was horrible. I got ready to work but I knew I wasn't going to make it. I called in.

But that is good news I think. Last year when I was fit, I hardly ever got migraines or sick for that matter. I have a confession, these last months have been a roller-coaster for me, I've been depressed for a while and I just can't figure out why anymore. I dont want to seek a doctor to be put on medication. Just a personal choice, nothing against it. I remember when i was fit and I ate good I got rid of those blues....

So yesterday evening when I was feeling better I went to out and got myself a couple of workout shirts, sports bras, and new workout capris. I wrote up my weeks menu and went grocery shopping. I've started southbeach diet sort of.

After I get done eating breakfast right now I clean the dishes and start Insanity FIt test....oh god....

    Good luck!!! I'm starting p90x today! I've been preparing for weeks! i've read in many articles that food that is horrible for you definitely can cause you to feel depressed! You aren't sad about anything...it's the food!!!!! emoticon

Ok... I know I've been MIA.

BUt here I am!
Sorry everyone! It's still costing me to adjust to my new life schedule so I don't log in as much as I would like too.

Anyway...first of all confession. I missed about a week and half of workout. I know bad. I guess it was all the work and driving and me trying to get the workout going after getting back from work. Well, let me tell you that didn't work out. So, I've switched gears.

This week I started week 3, and started working out in the mornings before going to work. And today is my 4th day in a row! :) well today is my day off so I did a bit of zumba and my yoga workout. I am proud! I get home from wokr and I am done you know? I can change into comfy clothes and enjoy the evening. I don't have to worry about getting my workout done. And I've been more energized in the mornings.

So I will continue my workouts in the mornings. I have not weighed myself. I don't think I've lost any weight I was really bad that week and a half that I didn't workout. Also on the 6th I drank a lot. So...I know I haven't lost. And since I don't want to put myself down, I'll just not weigh myself.

I'm Catholic so Lent started yesterday. I've promised to not drink. I know it will be hard but not impossible. I need to cut back on my drinking. I seriously do. There is no need for alcohol to have fuN! I know I can have fun without it! So from now on I keep telling myself I am no boring without alcohol.

I've been taking lunch to work almost everyday. But turns out my company loves to feed us. Whether it's food or just cupcakes or goodies. It's a challenge, but once again, who doesn't like a challenge?

Ok, I got to go take a shower, run some errands, and get the laundry done. Tomorrow I go back to work so I want to leave the house clean.

HELLO EVERYONE!

well, yesterday was a long day for me! I was so tired when I got home from work that I didn't even workout or cooked dinner. I had Special K for dinner. Thrusday & Saturdays are my days off. So today I was able to get up, have a healthy breakfast (scrambled egg w/1 turkey bacon slice, 1 W.wheat pancake, and like a cup and half of steamed veggies) and get my workout done early.

I did Shoulders & Arms and 20 mins of Zumba. Right when I was finishing up with cooking dinner, my hubby called and said we are going to Texas Roadhouse for dinner, it's my mother in laws birthday. shoot....

BUt I didn't let that get to me. I made salmon with a delicious dill weed and cucumber sauce, brown rice, and steamed veggies. SO I went ahead and had my salmon dinner. So I'll probably just eat a bit of appetizers. I looked up their menu and seriously....they don't have healthy options. So I am glad I ate before leaving. The rest of the salmon I will save for tomorrows lunch.

Oh~! BTW! I've been taking my lunch everyday to work, drinking my 8 c of water (at least) and having fruit and yogurt during my breaks. I love my new job! It seriously helps me keep a routine of what I am supposed to eat!

Kat- I am a claims processor for an insurance company. well, I'm still in training, actually 10 wks of training, yup, it's that long! Anyway...we take the phone calls from customers setting up auto and property claims.

Ok, I better go now, I have to get ready for my MIL's dinner. LUv u all!

WOW!!!

I know I missed yesterday's blog, but as some of you know, I got a new job (YEAY!!) Anyway, my schedule is definitely NOT like it used to be. LOTS of changes, but of course for good. So it has been hard to set up my schedule. Yesterday I wasn't able to do my COre Synergistics workout, but I did it today, well half of it, then 20 mins of zumba so over all about 50 mins. I think that is pretty good (considering)!

Anyway, my plan is to workout early in the morning so when I am back from work I don't have to drag myself to working out.
So just in case you are wondering, here is a peek at my schedule for the next 10 wks of job training.


5.45 -6 am. Wake up
6 - 7 am - workout
7.05-7.15- take my hubby to work (really close, he just wont walk!)
7.15-7.45- make breakfast and leave dinner ready
7.45-8.45- get myself ready for work, have breakfast, get my son ready to drop off at grandma's.
8.45-Leave the house (30 min drive to mom's)
9.15 -9.30 am- arrive at mom's house, drop off my son, chit chat a bit, half some juice, etc....
9.30-9.45 am drive to work, arrive at work on time :D

Work from 10 am- 6.45 pm.

7.00 pm arrive at mom's house, pick up my son
8.00 pm- finally get back home after chit chat again with my parents.

So, there you have it. That is my day! emoticon You have to remember, I used to work from 8 am-12 pm, and it was like 2 mins away from home. But change is good. I feel confident I will do great with this company and most importantly I am happy.

So, it's 10.05 pm, I finished my workout, I have to get ready for bed and get up early to finish my workout in the morning.

    You'll manage well. Just make sure you give yourself time to get adjusted to the new schedule - don't get frustrated at the beginning if it's not perfect right away.

What kind of job did you get? what will you be doing?

TOday: Abs & Legs/Back

First of all let met say this, it's been months since I've done this workout. NEedless to say, I couldn't do all the moves/reps. But that is okay. I know I will get better with time.

I did get through the ab workout, or at least most of it. Which is something I am proud, I mean this is one of the workouts I really "dislike" doing. Today I felt really good when I woke up. I felt leaner. I don't know if I've lost anymore than the 1 lb I logged yesterday, but I certainly felt thinner and better and just healthier.

I had a healthy breakfast, scrambled eggs with lots of veggies, broccoli & zucchini, coffee with a bit of sugar. It was a pretty big breakfast with all the veggies and I felt satisfied and with no need to munch on something sweet. Although I am about to eat 2 chocolate covered coffee beans. lol. I bought a small jar when I was in Mexico City a couple of weeks ago, and they are just delicious. I wish I had purchased more!

I'm going to a party today, my nephew's birthday party in a couple of hours. I sure I can control myself with the food. I feel stronger and confident. And I'll be seeing all my family which it has been a while since I last saw them.

HOpe everyone has a good weekend.

TOmorrow is my first day at my new job... I'm nervous. But change is good. Change is very good.
