Thank you

Thursday, July 09, 2009

I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart. I am in terrible worry about my dad. He is my hero and seeing him like this kills me. He is a strong man and I know he will pull through no matter what. The hardest thing is, that of my siblings I'm the one that lives closer. My sister has been here for 2 weeks to help my mom out. I'm taking her back tomorrow, she lives like 5 hours away. I have to be strong for my dad and for my mom. My mom is a very strong woman but also worries so much and is very sensitive, I have to be strong for both of them.

We are still waiting for the specialist's appointment. Today me and my sister are getting together to bake cookies. Turns out my dad had just recently finished up all his sick/personal leave hours taking care of personal stuff. So he has no hours left. That means no paychecK! He works for University of AZ, so his boss has been great. They have asked all their employees (not only locally all around the state) to contribute hours so he can still get his paycheck. We are so thankful for that. So were baking cookies and individually wrapping them and taking them over to my daddy's work as a small thank you. I know one employee who is my dad's friend contributed with 40 of his vacation hours to my dad!

In a couple of weeks I'll bake something different and take them again. I have a long drive tomorrow it will give me time to clear my mind a bit. I wasn't able to complete my workout tuesday/wednesday. Tuesday I had to go take care of my dad after work and yesterday I was over there too. Today we're baking like 5 dozen cookies but I will complete it. I need it. I need to control myself. When we found out what my dad had I so stress/upset I attacked a bag huge bag of M&M's my mother in law gave to my son. I had to stop myself. I'm an emotional eater, as you can tell, but I can't let this take over me. This is the time I need to be more focused to help my mom and dad out.

Have a great Tuesday. And thank you so much for your comments. It really means a lot to me. I don't have many friends close by and knowing you guys are by side makes things so much easier. Thank you thank yOU!

It's always nice to hear that there are people out there who are willing to do things for other people. :) I hope your father is able to get better soon and I'll be thinking of you and your family during this time. :) Keep up the great work and remember that if you take care of yourself physically you'll have more energy to help take care of others. :)

What an awesome blessing !! 40 vacation hours! WHOA! That's so sweet! Very good of you to take cookies!

Your right- you need to stay strong! I am an emotional eater also- and I am stressed about weirdo little stuff (petty stuff compared to you) but I refuse to eat crap to make me feel better- because that's a big fat lie that ANY thing like m&ms or even chocolate chip cookies will help fill ANY void- no matter how big or how small! Grab a handful of sliced cucumber, or a bunch of steamed veggies- and pig out sister- but STAY AWAY FROM THE COOKIES!!! STAY AWAY FROM THE USELESS NASTY SUGARY PROCESSED FOODS! You CAN do this! YOU ARE STRONG! ANd your mom and dad need you to be strong for them!

I know your gonna get thru this! I believe in you!

Bad news from my Dad's doc...

Wednesday, July 08, 2009

Today my dad finally had his doctor's appointment (remember he went to the ER on 6/23/09). The MRI, cat scan and a bunch of other tests results were handed to his doctor. Turns out he has 2 discs that have slipped. That is what is causing him so much pain. The doctor doesn't think he has a hernia, he thinks that what he feels is the pressure from the slipped discs. But there's more. The doctor sees a mass in between these 2 discs. He doesn't think it is cancer, but my dad has to see a specialist. His doctor doesn't want to say much since he isn't a specialist, but he thinks my dad needs a surgery, and that he wont be back to work for a while. We are now waiting to be notified of his specialist's appointment. We're going to have to take him to Phoenix, AZ to see that doctor, which is like 2 1/2 -3 hours away.

I'm so upset right now. It scares me to death to think that my dad has to have surgery on his back or that there is a possibility of cancer. I'm just so scared right now.

My prayers are with you and your Dad. I pray for the doctors too that they will have healing hands, and the knowledge will be there to know what to do with the problems your dad faces in the best way for him. I pray for you and your family that you will have strength and security knowing that you have friends and God on your side. Many blessing to you during this difficult time. There will be blessings, you will just need to look for them a little more closely.

I am sorry to hear about your father possibly having to have surgery. It is a scary thing to contemplate, but he is lucky to have you there! Specialists are definitely good. Don't take it personally if they are rude, I think it is in their job desription. Mine was an @$$. Anyways, wishing you the best, and if you need anything holler.

Good MOnday!

Monday, July 06, 2009

I wasn't as good a I wanted in regards to food, but I have done a lot worse! I completed my ab routine and my chest and back. I had more endurance this time around. My hubby is really getting results fast! I am so jealous! Men get ripped way more easy than women, but he also runs and I don't so of course that helps too.

Anyway...not much to say today, I'm tired. I have to take a shower and I might go grocery shopping. Maybe....

Good night!

AAAHH!! Attack of the frozen cupcakes!

Saturday, July 04, 2009

I've been attacked by them!.... I'll explain.. I made different types of cakes, in case I have people ask me for a tasting (like for a wedding or big orders like that). I made Red Velvet (my favorite), lemon, almond, pecan...etc... I wrap each cupcake really good in saran wrap, unfrosted of course, then put in a large container with a tight lid on it, stick them in the freezer, defrost as needed.

Well the red velvet cupcake was calling my name. HEre I am putting my workout shoes on and that freaking cupcake takes over me. Next thing I know... I put a cupcake in the microwave nuked it for like 20 seconds... put some left over buttercream on from my dad's cake yesterday and I eat the cupcake.

I was in cupcake heaven..... then I felt bad...ARRGGHH... I was doing pretty good but next time I know.. don't keep your favorite cupcake frozen. It's too easy to fall into that trap.. Sorry I'm venting... Got to go now... I got to burn this cupcake!

**Btw.... freezing cakes/cupcakes covered really good in saran plastic wrap and then foil paper, makes them even more moist. Just let them defrost completely before taking off the plastic & foil paper off.. just a tip ;)!

HERE IS MY ATTACKER!!!! Isn't perfect?!?! It's like Tony Horton from P90X would say.. "I hate it, but I love it!

You only had one and you enjoyed it. Its didn't make you gain 10lbs, and made you happy, you savored it. You enjoyed it and it enjoyed you. :-) You know not to make a habit of it...you're well on you're way to being so close at goal. Don't beat yourself up.
