Had my next meeting and weighed in at 217! BUMMER! I gained a pound in the last two weeks since my last visit. That really helped reality set in of all the late night snacks and my uncontrollable binges I get. It really hit me harder then most other times. We spoke about new goals and today I finally bought myself a scale. In the last few months I have only been measuring some portions and estimating others since I don't have a scale but she convinced me to get one today so that I can more accurately measure my portions. So this two weeks goal is to better portion size and my personal goal is to lose at least another pound by the next two week visit. emoticon
The weather has been so emoticon these past two weeks in anchorage it is really starting to warm up and the daily bike rides are getting to be much more fun with the better weather. I switched my studded bike tires to my summer bike tires and it was AMAZING how different it feels now so much BETTER! emoticon

    I just came across your blog. Old habits are so hard to break. Good job for making a decision to change for the better. Your new journey starts today!

Also I know you said that you don't have a scale. I have been working a program called the 21 day fix. It comes with color coded portion control containers. You get a certain number of each container each day and you fill it up and you are good to go. You should check it out. Let me know if you have questions it could be exactly what you need to really kick it into high gear. It also comes with an amazing workout program that can be modified for any level! I'm on my second week now.

Happy April Fools! Hope you all have lots of fun with it today. Just wanted to check in after weighing myself yesterday. I am now at 216.6 yeay! 29lbs lost so far it feels pretty good and on my ticker I went out of the woods and now am just at the bottom of the summit I have quite a mountain to climb just ahead but I can do it! My current goals for the next two weeks is try to lower my chocolate intake because I love chocolate! Second to try and get more sleep at least 6 hours and third keep up my food journal!     Congrats on your weight loss,

The only thing I can suggest for the chocolate urge is too get the darkest chocolate you can find. It meets the chocolate need in just a square and doesn't make you want the whole bag or bar!

ello everybody! It's been awhile sorry life has been happening haha. Anyway just to catch you all up I met with my "advisor" and I ended up gaining a pound and then losing a pound. So that's all good but my eating habits needed more improvement so we got a new plan set up where I can eat throughout the day but small portions and my new goal is to lose at least another pound when I see her in another two weeks and hopefully I have upped my activity level by then too. I have been slacking in the strength department lately so I want to work on that and maybe start jogging again a few times each week. emoticon I will have to check in again after my two week check in and let you all know how it goes. hope you are all well! emoticon

p.s. emily if you read this I am having trouble contacting you. I didn't receive your mail but I read the comment you left on my page. Right now in my circumstances I can't join the team it sounds like TONS of fun but financially its not something I can do right now. Thank you for thinking of me though I really appreciate it! Not a lot to say but felt I should check in :)

I have been working with a lady at my work who is suppose to help me with losing weight, this is her job basically so I trust her advice and we worked out three goals. The first is to drink at least 46 oz of water a day, second is no eating samples at work (there is a lot and I munch on 50-80 calorie samples a lot), and third is eat and log 1200-1350 calories every day. So far I have been doing well with the first two but logging and eating my calorie range has been hard. I have been binging A LOT these past two days! It's horrible! I know what I want and what I need to do to achieve it but I keep eating like a mad man. So anyway I am working on it and I have to meet with her again march 3rd so I hope by then I have myself together emoticon Oh! and my new goal weight is 175 she says that would be a perfect bmi so that's the goal to see if I can get there by the end of the summer the earliest of course if I do reach that goal (HOPEFULLY!!) and I still wanna go for 160 then I shall. Hope you are all well! emoticon

    Oh do I understand you!! During the first two weeks of February the field guys were in the office for Safety / Training. We set out goodies and provided lunch for them every day. Needless to say, I sampled !! Oh look, cookies .... Somehow I managed to stay at my current weight (still 15 pounds more than I want to be) but I don't have a clue how. And I nibbled so much that I couldn't even remember to log it. Back on task now. Best wishes for you and congratulations on having a friend that is there with you to help!! emoticon emoticon

A Sense of Worth

SO before I forget to update the whole raw foods thing for the month of January it didn't work as hoped but I definitely learned a lot! I learned that you can't just pick someone else's diet and make it yours ( the majority of the time ) I learned that when someone says you have to find the diet that works for you it doesn't mean that you pick one like Atkins, or paleo, or fruitarian or even raw and vegan. It means that you individually pick the foods that work for YOU. YOU do what you think is right and what YOU like and make your own "diet" and if it falls within the categories mentioned above that's great but that doesn't mean it's what you are following hope that makes sense! Anyway February 1st and onward its gonna be Maria's Diet! Yippee! :D

    Amen! I like sushi, but I would have a hard time giving up the rice. Does that count? I just try to keep things simple, no matter once. If it involves too many recipes/steps to "pretend" to be normal, then it isn't worth it. Hopefully your new diet includes foods that you like! Good luck!
