So today I went with my running friends to Crystal Cove park... I thought we were running the beach... NO WAY! We were running the hills in the PARK... not the beach! I could not keep up with my friends... they have fast..... but I had a BLAST, ran 7.5 miles in however long it took... I think 2 hours, but it might have been a bit less..... One girl and I turned back, while the others continued on for 9.5 miles! Had we not had a time crunch we would have continued on and completed the loop, but we oped to head back. She and I stayed together the whole way back! Thanks GRACE!
Yoga at the beach is GREAT and free... Seal Beach @1:30 on the bluff. Come check it out! (E-mail me for more info if you want! )
I was hoping to get more stretching in, but I think it was more of a workout... so now I am really tired... and kind of sore. But the weather was beautiful, and I was ACTIVE!
Just wish I would have studied for that test......

    Wow!!! Sounds like you're having fun. Wish we were closer to Seal Beach for the free yoga. We're going to Hermosa Beach next month (possibly) to do yoga on Saturday. Yoga is wonderful. I'm so glad that you found a great running team. Keep up the good work.

First long run.

Today was my first long run, 1.5 hours... I am currently going by time not distance my goal is run for 2.5 hours... that should get me to 13 miles. Today I ran 6.5. Not too bad for my first time out. At one point I could not make myself start running again! So I walked further than my original plan, but I feel PROUD about this accomplishment today. And I am still feeling sore from Fridays workout!
For the rest of Feb. I will be doing the long run for 1.5 hours, then in March I will be running for 2. This is on top of the hour I run 3 days a week!! I will get there, I am not worried. So I am trying to decided which 1/3 should be my First. I am training like I will be Running the San Diego Rock n Roll 1/2 Marathon on June 6th... But I am not sure yet.... I am going to run the Los Angels Rock-n-Roll 1/2 in October. I think my brother will be running that too. FUN! emoticon

So far so good... I am still out there running at 5:20am... super fun, but with my work schedule I don't have time to get on this website very much. Sure miss my spark friends.
So I have officially decided to run a 1/2 marathon, I am thinking about the San Diego Rock n Roll marathon in June, Plenty of time to train... I am actually starting to train this weekend... with a 1.5 hour run. I need to find a way to also track mileage... but for right now I will be just going by time, 1.5 hours out there for the month of Feb. (then 2 hours in March ect.) This is on top of my early AM runs.. those are about 1 hour...
And I am in the process of studying for my licensing exam... I have come up with a 6 week program for that too... Hopefully I will get that done as quickly as possible, so I can stop worrying about it! What I do find interesting is with all this running, I would think i would be thinner... Hum.... :-)
Remember, don't give up on your goals for the year... YOU CAN DO IT! emoticon

A new year.

Happy New Year all my Spark friends. Its been quite an interesting few months! As I mentioned in another blog I'm sure, I joined a running bootcamp that starts at 5:20 in the morning 3 days a week. Now there are so many cool things about that.. such as it FORCES me to get up and run, in the dark, cold (and next week raining) mornings when I would much rather be in bed! AND I do things I would never do by myself... things like HILLS and sprints... I just RUN alone. And I have a bunch of girls running with me now! SUPER COOL! Now to get them all to this site... :-)
I know this is going to be the year when I accomplish all my goals, and lose those last 5 pounds! There is something different in the air already do you feel it? I am out there, running, spreading the word.. .and having FUN! Now if I could just get the work/life balance together, it would be PERFECT! emoticon

Week 7 already?!?!

Where did the time go?!?! Happy Holidays!!!!!
Even though I am only on line about once a week anymore, at least I am working out! I might not be logging it here... but I have been doing it!!! Let me just say that I LOVE my running club... so motivating, so fun, so welcoming! My first 3 weeks of it was GREAT! And several of us were out there this morning, just to run!! So cool! I have to say 5:30am is EARLY... but at least I get it out of the way, and I don't have to worry about working out the rest of the day! Woohoo!!!! I will sign up for the 6 week course soon... Starting the first of Jan... (or around there) It is such great motivation.
My work is still taking over my life... I can not get out on time to save my life!!!!!!! Very frustrating. Everyone is commenting on that... I have yet to really figure out WHY I can not get out... but I can not. I then come home, and go to bed.. .sometimes with dinner, and other times not so much. I know not really healthy, but its about the best I can do these days! :-) Starting this week I am adding 1 more fitness thing in... On the non running days... before I study... Good thing this is all short term! :-) I am just looking at my life these days in 6 week chunks! Wow... Ok I will attempt to weigh in and all that tomorrow... :-) Hopefully I will get my computer time! CIAO! emoticon emoticon
