We truly have to love ourselves for everything we are, inside and out. Being overweight or out of shape is an easy state to find yourself in. We can exist as people who have neglected ourselves.
The challenge in this life is to fight for your health and wellbeing. You are the only person to stand up for your health, which is the most valuable asset. It takes a lot of courage to do things for yourself in a world of immense responsibility. As family members, employees and parents, we must care for ourselves in order to care for others.
When we find ourselves severely neglected, it can seem impossible to ever get to fit and healthy. With Hollywood giving us rail thin images of young women, our gage for beauty is very far fetched. No matter what age, what size, or what fitness level, the effort has to be made to be the best YOU can be!
The best way to change is to change your mind and the physical transformation soon follows. If you don't believe you have the power to change, you will not get anywhere in the physical aspect. Sometimes it takes a demonstration of yourself against seemingly impossible odds to believe that anything is possible in your transformation.
My will power and strength were tested from 2005-2007 when I reached my heaviest weight 348 lbs and very out of shape. I found myself in an abusive relationship and I did not feel loved. In the midst of the situation, I neglected myself severely and I was not well at all.
In May 2007, I completed 2 years of weight loss totaling 187 lbs and 74 inches. Pride was mine and I was in awe of my inner capabilities and my fitness as well as my physical appearance!
Sadly, fitness and weight loss were only the tip of the iceberg for issues. A dsyfunctional family, many negative people surrounding me and a lack of self-confidence lead to my demise once again.
From 2007-2009 I ballooned back up to 313 lbs, only managing to maintain 35 lbs of weight loss and my fitness plunged again. My dream of being married and having a family seemed like a lost hope.
On November 8, 2009 I met the man that has shown me that keeping the faith can pay off. In the time we have spent together, I have lost over 100 lbs and I am very fit! We were married in April 2010 and we own a new home built in July 2011! I am hoping to complete the last 50 lbs of weight loss or so to start a family!
The lesson we all have to learn is that believing in our own capabilities is of utmost importance. We can accomplish anything we desire with a lot of hard work and dedication. Believe!!!
