With 113.2 lbs lost in 3 years, I have seen a drastic change in my appearance when the scale hasn't moved at certain times in my journey. If the scale doesn't look good, my physical appearance definitely does because the muscle tone from exercise has shaped me.
Someone who is starting to get healthy may want to look thinner and associate that with eating less. It is obvious that Exercise and Nutrition both work to transform your body. Exercise burns fat and builds muscle. When we first start exercising more regularly, we may not be able to do a lot in terms of time and exertion. With time, we can exert ourselves more as we start losing the pounds. The initial weight loss is water weight held in the fat cells and then you start burning fat.
On my 1st weight loss journey from 2005-2007, I dropped 75 inches and 187 lbs. I had never lost more than 90 lbs before so this was a huge success and the unlocking of my mentality that I could be healthy. The possibilities became endless in my mind but I hadn't dealt with the issues that caused to be so obese in the first place.
In 2009, I found myself with 153 lbs of excess weight gained back. I changed my situation by meeting the man of my dreams and moving to another country. After three years and 113.2 lbs lost, I have effectively dealt with the issues that caused my weight gain.
I can say that I found the happiness and love I searched for my whole life. I feel so confident, even with 39.8 lbs left to lose because my muscle tone and endurance are amazing! I have someone who appreciates my physical appearance and also my mental stability that has taken me through this difficult journey a 2nd time. I look better than my 1st journey at the weight I am now because of the extreme exercising I am doing.
After 5 years, I finally reached ONEderland and I am trying to get far enough below to not see those numbers again. Even when I start having babies, I never want to go over 200 lbs again. It is a lifelong dream for me to have a family and I am soooooo anxious to lose the last 39.8 lbs. It is extremely difficult, eating less than 1200 calories and doing a lot of fitness but I am extremely dedicated.
The way people treat you when you are close to goal weight is a far cry from when you start the journey.
I am here to say to all those people that don't like their physical appearance, be the change everyday, change your mentality and then your body will follow. Do the hard work, make the effort and fitness can give you a muscle tone that will dazzle your appearance. Keep working at it, don't give up!
I am proof, not one but two triple digit weight losses, it CAN be done!

I started my current weight loss journey at 313 lbs in November 2009 and I am in the last 1/4 of the losing phase.
I am making it my goal to complete the last 42.4 lbs off by December 2013, the end of this year.
I am prepared to continue with the intense fitness I do and the low nutritional total I consume.
With 110.6 lbs off, I have a great deal of gained confidence and with 3 years of weight loss behind me, I am prepared to work for maintenance status.
Hard work, dedication and perseverance have taken me to where I am now. I changed my mind to change my life and body.
Here is to our health and reaching our goals in 2013!!!

I am on my 2nd triple digit weight loss in 32 years of life and holiday weight gain doesn't phase me.
At 109.8 lbs lost currently on this 3 year journey, I am seasoned enough to know, the 4.6 I gained in 2 days of celebrating Christmas with family will come off within 7-10 days.
At Thanksgiving, I gained 5.8 in 3 days, but within 10 days I had taken all of that off.
Of course it is a lot of work to take the weight off but it is a rare occasion that I allow myself to eat in holiday fashion.
The weight gain didn't worry me and I know I will be taking it off because I have down it so many times before.
I am living the healthy lifestyle the majority of the time, when I arrive home from the holidays, I go back on my Nutrition plan and I exercise a lot to regain my health.
There were a few times when I didn't know if I would be successful in a healthy lifestyle. Growing up I was overweight for many years, I never knew how to eat properly and didn't exercise a lot. It wasn't until my 2 years Weight Loss Program between the ages of 25-27 that I knew what a success I could be in healthy living. I lost 187 lbs and 75 inches in that time and I gained so much knowledge and experience at a Gym and the Weight Loss Center.
As fate would have it, I gained back 153 lbs in 2 years because healthy doesn't necessarily equal happy. We must fix the issues we have that make us use food for comfort in our emotions rather than exercising our emotions away.
Returning to my parents for the holidays paints a very clear picture in my head of why I was so large and trapped mentally for so many years. In two days time at my parents, I can put on between 4.6 and 5.6 lbs in just two days. The family loves to eat and feed people and they don't care about living a healthy lifestyle.
Since living in Canada for 3 years, I am happy that my proximity to that situation is far. It is ok to indulge a couple times a year but this healthy lifestyle guru is bound to be on the right health track again!
My experience has taught me that consistency is the winner in the healthy lifestyle. By always using portion control and exercising for an hour, I will drop on the scale. Hard work is necessary to get there and I am willing to do just that.
Did you know you would be successful? If you achieve success, you will always know. Whether it is 1 lb or 100, your progress tells you that you CAN do it!
