We can do everything right, eat proper Nutrition, get adequate exercise, etc. and sometimes the scale is not reflective of that. So many factors can be at work such as muscle building, lack of sleep, hormones....
It can be frustrating when you do everything right but the scale doesn't cooperate. People who succeed in their journey realize that you must continue with the proper Nutrition and Fitness in order to get to the change you are working for. Eating irrationally and not exercising will only lead to the scale continuing to move in the wrong direction.
The body is not a very evolved machine, it stores fat if it is not burned even though it is not needed. It can be tricked easily with small changes in Nutrition and Fitness. We must realize that although we do the right things, our body may not recognize that. It is a complex system and a science to give what it needs.
Regardless of what the scale says, we must maintain a healthy lifestyle and the scale will follow. Be happy and healthy!

I cook the majority of the time but 2 or 3 times a month we might stop at a restaurant. My husband doesn't cook so it is my responsibility to prepare healthy meals and keep track of what we both eat all day.
I have a food scale that is my best friend in this weight loss journey, lol! I measure protein to ensure accurate portions. I use liquid measuring cups for liquids and frozen yogurt. For fruits or chips, I count out the portions.
It is so satisfying to be good at cooking and to know how to eat healthy. We eat a variety of food types to stay healthy: starches, vegetables, fruits, protein, dairy and fat.
I have to laugh when I think of my husband talking about my cooking. We were talking about a friend's eating habits and she doesn't like a lot of things. He says to me, "If you cooked for her, she would love eating." LOL. He likes that I am creative in using different sauces and ingredients to change things up. We eat chicken every night for dinner because it is the protein you can have in the most quantity to keep us full for the night. It is essential to do different things with the chicken to avoid boredom.
When you prepare home cooked meals, you prepare it the way you like it. You choose the ingredients and prepare the food the way you want.
Eating at a restaurant is difficult because they don't weigh your portion of food. You can be tempted by the amount of food you have because that is your meal. When you go to restaurants, it is important to realize that it is possible to stay with your plan and still lose weight. It is going to take will power and sacrifice of course but it is doable.
Plan out what you can eat for the meal when you go to a restaurant. Stick to that and don't feel bad if you are surrounded by others who are pressuring you. Keep you plan and feel happy!
It is nice to go to restaurants a few times a month to enjoy not having to cook all day, every day.
I prefer to eat at home for most of the time with less temptation and food prepared healthy by me!

For the last week or so my husband and I have been spending anywhere from 1 hour and 20 mins of fitness to 2 hours.
We have been swimming for two hours, an hour and 20 minute walk and tonight our 1st 10k bike ride together.
My Nutrition is at the lowest plan and it is a labor of sacrifice. I am pretty comfortable with it after a few weeks under my belt and I have been tested on several days to stick with it.
We have taken several trips over to Montreal recently and it is 4 hrs round tour. I know that I should bring food so that I don't mess up on my Nutrition but I waited to get home to eat. On the majority of those trips, I managed to keep to the plan.
Every pound is a fight to sacrifice with Nutrition and intense fitness.
Only 4.7 to go to reach my 2nd short term goal of Onederland!!!

I am an Earthy, simple woman in that I can be happy with just the beauty of nature. On Sunday I went to a place I love and haven't been since June 2009. The Botanical Gardens and Insectarium is where I visited and really loved it.
I take solace in the flutter of a butterfly's wings and the beauty of a blooming flower. When relationships are not what they should be or your situation is not optimal, enjoying the simplest things is true happiness.
I got lost in the environment, with my favorite, Monarch butterflies gliding upon the wind as I walked. The 3 1/2 hr walk was just the Earthy adventure I needed to do some healing.
One of my favorite spots is the Japanese Garden with a pond containing Coy fish. I stayed there a while marveling in the beauty.
I stopped to wallow in the beauty of the water fountains, I love water, so soothing.
Sometimes we get so caught up in responsibilities and the fast pace of life that we don't take the time to appreciate the smallest things in life that have the power to heal.
I appreciate the small things and when bigger things come along, it makes me even more appreciative!
Have you stopped to take in the sweet smell of the roses or watch the butterfly gliding on the wind, there is healing there!
