This year was the first year in my adult life that I had absolutely no booze on St. Patrick's Day. Instead I woke up, had a light breakfast and headed out to Lake Hefner for the St. Paddy's Day 8k. Now not only did I run my first 8k race but after that race was over I ran an additional 4 miles get to my 9 miles needed for my half marathon race. While most racers hit the green beer and the free pizza I went with the Honey Stinger gel, water and four more miles. I will admit it was one of the toughest 4 miles to date but I did it.
I set a record for myself and for others out there. I am very proud of what I've accomplished and how much I've changed myself in the past two years. I can't wait to see where I'll be in another two years.
I have a fantastic support system in my partner, my family, my friends and my SPARK family. Together we are all helping to make a better, stronger, healthier me. So, thank you to everyone that has and will continue to support me.
Look out OKC Memorial Half Marathon cause here I come!
