Going to Miami

Friday, March 07, 2008

I'm going to miami for the next two days and I'm not bringing my computer. The stupid scale said 127 today and I'm freaked out - I am totally gaining weight. I am going to really focus when I get home. Cutting down on the alcohol, white rice with the sushi, staying of the dried fruit and any other food I can't portion control. I want to be back to the low 120s by the end of the month and I CAN do it.

Anyway I will see you all on Sunday. I'll write down my food in my blackberry and I'll log it.

I remain puzzled. I work out for an average of an hour a day and a BAD day for me is 2200 calories. How does someone who does that gain 5 pounds in a month? One thing though, I notice that my scale reads differently in different places in my bathroom...puzzling.

    Hi Mandy,
I'm having the same issue... sometimes I feel like I'm doing really well eating and exersizing and then the stupid scale goes the wrong way. I'm hanging out in the high 120s too which really sucks for me because the thought of ever being 130 again scares me. But hang in there and don't let it discourage you. We just have to be more stubburn than the scale. You can do it!

p.s. My scale gives a different readings before and after I shower which makes me obsess and weight myself like 5 times in the morning. So I'm trying to just weigh once and the first reading is it.

Sometimes clothes are a better judge of weight. Also use several scales. I use one at the YWCA, my house, my Dad's house. They are all different!

Good luck. Maintaining is really challenging!

Been there, done that. Sometimes, it's what you gotta do. Good luck!

another day with no dried fruit!

Tuesday, March 04, 2008

I'm really pleased with this no dried fruit decision. I feel better without it. I avoided gum today too, only chewed two pieces. I did eat a late night (8:30) snack though, and my carbs were at 199 - but that's still better, and I can't really be sure because I had sushi for dinner and sushi nutrition facts are very unclear to me.

I drank enough water and I worked out twice, so if I hadn't had that little snack it would have been a perfect day, but it was still pretty good.

Oh yeah, I drank a little sake, but that's not so bad!

And today

Monday, March 03, 2008

Bad stuff:

- I chain chewed gum
- I had one vodka drink
- I gorged on fake PB
- I was over 200 carbs
- I was under 60 g of protein

Good stuff:

- Under 1500 calories
- Didn't finish my drink
- no dried fruit!
- worked out twice
- no late night eating!

Overall pretty good, not great.

It was an awesome day!

- No dried fruit
- No late night eating
- Just over 1200 cals a day
- Under 200 carbs
- Lots of protien

Low points -
- Only 7 glasses of water
- Worked out only once, but for 60 mins
- Still ate a lot of fake PB

Not as much protien, about 2 grams per tablespoon. It is called "better than peanut butter" and at first I didn't like it but now I love it.

You've intrigued me with this PB. I have an addiction problem with regular PB (I make smoothies in the am with 1tsp of PB, but eat about 2 Tbsp while its blending!), so I have to make my snacks or meals smaller to make up for it.

How much protein is in the fake PB?
