New Pictures

Friday, August 17, 2012

Well here are the pictures of the kitchen and workout room. I went with Chilly Winter Blue and Lemon Ice Yellow. Went today and got the colors for the living room. Going to get that painted this weekend. The colors in my workout area seem to help in keeping my spirits up. I love it. I'm also looking forward to finishing my living room. I feel so much better. My self-esteem is up, my motivation is up, and I feel like changing my surroundings since I'm making changes in myself. I'm also feeling better cause I've lost 3 more lbs. Two more and I will be at 40 lost.

This is the workout room

This is the kitchen cabinets. I need to get me some new handles

Smiling cause I'm almost to twoterville

newest picture of my grandson anthony playing at my house
I had to include a precious picture of him

I'm Back

Tuesday, August 14, 2012

I'm back. Now I know I'm an addict to SP. We had a bad storm that hit last week and it knocked out the power and cable, which meant no internet. Power back on the next day, but cable took a lot longer. Got the internet back today. I was so lost without my Spark. Missed all of you.
Well the color i chose for the kitchen was Chilly Winter Blue and Lemon Ice yellow for the trim. Camera battery is dead, so I will post pictures later. Gla to have my Spark back.
God Bless and keep Smiling

No question

Friday, August 10, 2012

Not going to ask a question today. Just want to let you know real quick how things are going. As of today I'm at 304, that's a 38 lb loss. I seen several people in the last few days I hadn't seen in a while, and they said how they had notice the difference in me. Not in just loosing weight, but my attitude. They said I'm smiling more and I seem happier and more energetic. All my new clothes I bought last month are loose now. My hubby took me and bought me me new pair of Capri Jeans and a new Gamecock shirt for football season. He said my old one is too baggy on me. :)
I'm feeling so much better each day, and it feels good that people in my life notice.
I'm almost finished painting, only have to finish the cabinets and clean up and then I will take some pictures and show you the color I chose.
God Bless and Keep Smiling

Question of the day 8/9/12

Thursday, August 09, 2012

I just finished reading the answers to yesterday's question. I looked up what hero means, and in simple terms, I understand it is someone that goes above and beyond the norm to help another. Well after some thought I felt I should add this to my answer. My Spark friends are definitely my heroes. You don't have to give me the motivation and support I need each day, but you choose to do so. You send me goodies and encouraging words to keep me on track on my journey. Before SP, you didn't know me from Adam, and still you include me in your prayers and send me helpful advice and ideas to help me. You are all true heroes in my book.
emoticon
Hope you like today's question.

emoticon emoticon emoticon

What advice or idea would you give to a new Spark member, to help them get on the right track of their journey?

God Bless and Keep Smiling

I had someone recently ask me for a weight loss tip for someone starting out. All I could think was:

** Be consistent with healthy habits that work for you. **

The journey is unique for everyone, but the only way it can happen is if we start with some small step and keep taking that step.

Find an accountability sparkbuddy. I have one I check in with every day. And I always wanna give her a good "report". We keep each other in line with our weekly goals and cheer each other on. I found one who was very close to my age and surprisingly we have a whole lot more similarities than just our age. This is my 4th time around with SP and I feel more confident with sticking to the plan this time because of my daily reports.

Keep going and do not quit. Do something everyday that is a step in the direction you want to go. You can ease up at times when it feels like too much, too fast, but never, ever, ever give up.

Hi, my advice would be to start slowly, read all the information they could. There are many suggestions. Stay focused on healthy choices of foods and watch portion sizes.

I will tell them that each person's journey is their own. What works for one person may not work for you. It may take some time to find your own path. Keep moving forward and don't be afraid to change what isn't working.

My advice to them would be to start slowly.

Start by tracking the food you eat for a month, without making any changes to the way you eat.

After you get an idea of what you are eating, start switching out high calorie foods for lower calorie foods (healthy choices).

Then start exercising ten minutes a day.

My advice would be to use the trackers and to remember that working on the mental part of weight loss every day is critical.

Question of the day 8/8/12

Wednesday, August 08, 2012

just got off the phone having a mama/daughter chat. My daughter and I was talking about people and things that have had influence in our lives. Then she just out of the blue told me that I was hero and I had been a positive influence in her life and her decisions. Then I heard a song called George Jones and Jesus, talking about how they got him through the bad times. It got me thinking, who is my hero and who has influenced me in my life's decisions. I have to say that my heroes are Jesus and my Mama. So here is today's questions.

emoticon emoticon emoticon

Who is your hero?

My grandmother. She taught me so much growing up. When I hear the question 'Who is your hero?" she always pops into my mind first. She taught me a love of fresh veggies from the garden and that you enjoy them even more when you help plant, raise and pick them, she taught me how to sew, quilt, crochet, and do needlepoint. She taught me that you need to work hard to get what you want and not expect things to be handed to you. They are more valuable when you work hard for them. Most everything that is good that I learned, I learned from my grandmother. And I figure when she passes they will just have to stick me in the box with her!

MY DAD WAS MY HERO. HE NEVER, EVER GAVE UP ON ME EVEN WHEN THE DRS. TOLD HIM I WOULD NEVER LIVE LONG ENOUGH TO GO TO SCHOOL. SO HE TAUGHT ME HIMSELF. WHEN I DID END UP GOING TO SCHOOL, I GOT TO SKIP TWO GRADES BECAUSE I WAS SO FAR AHEAD OF THE OTHER KIDS. I AM NOW 65. SHOWS WHAT SOME DRS. KNOW!
MY MOTHER WOULDN'T EVEN TAKE CARE OF ME - IT WAS ALMOST LIKE I WAS DEFECTIVE - SO MY DAD HAD TO TAKE ME ALONG ON THE ROAD WITH HIM. HE PLAYED IN THE BIG BAND ERA AND I WAS SURROUNDED BY MUSIC. IT WAS AN INCREDIBLE WAY TO GROW UP.

I don't really have heroes I can name; I find the unsung heroes most inspiring. The professional who goes beyond just doing a job and cares about those his or her actions impact, the blood or organ donor who just does it because it is needed, the stranger who hands their lunch to a homeless person without even being asked.

My heroes are best measured by what they do, even when they and those they help are the only ones who know what they've done.

I would say my hubby. Of 45 yrs! We got married when I was 17 (yup, that was done back then). He has been my continual cheerleader in life, my best friend and my hero... Through easy and hard times. He still writes me love notes and reminds me it is the small things in life that are so important. And secondary would be myself. I have come through so very much (Alcoholic parents, death of a child, Lymes disease, clean from addiction for 24yrs, in-laws who were a real challenge, etc and today i am a woman I am proud of.

I would say those that have nothing and still manage to smile and go on with there day, to me they are real hero's. Thanks for the question and have a nice night! emoticon emoticon
