In celebration of Good Friday, everything here is closed and we all had the day off. We decided to celebrate by inviting friends over for the day. We were blessed to be surrounded by the Love of Christ and the joy of the journey throughout the day. We ate together. Played together. Walked together (2 1/2 hours along the river!) Colored eggs together. It truly was a good Friday!
I did learn today that I need to be more careful when we have guests when it comes to my water intake. I forgot all about drinking my water today. I was way too busy taking care of everything else. Now I am feeling it and the scale will surely show it at weigh in in the morning.

Ha! I had to laugh this evening at supper. My son took a bite and said, "Wow! What is this?" Imagine the shock on his face when I said, "Spinach." His response was just as great. "Well, what in the world does the school do to theirs to make mud out of it?" Everyone loved the salad and agreed that the cooks at school should be forbidden to touch the stuff. They ruled it a crime. Its no wonder that our kids are afraid of real food!

Recently, we discovered that some of the planners of the Israeli Kibbutz grew up right here in our area and were trained at the local college of architecture. So, today, with our son who dreams of building his own city one day, we headed off to a temporary exhibit in the next town over detailing the lives of these men and their work. It was very interesting. Over the years, we have heard and read so many things about the Jewish Kibbutz, but we never dreamed that the men who started it all were from right here. The exhibit was very interesting. My son's eyes especially lit up when we learned about the modern eco-friendly settlements that are completely solar powered, mud and straw "igloos". It was a good day. Though, I don't think museum-steps count the same as treadmill-steps.
breakfast: 2 pieces of spelt bread, 1 tbsp fat-free cream cheese, 10 gr salami, 1 tbs fruit spread, 2 strawberries, 2 yellow pepper rings, cappuccino
lunch: turkey and ham sub, loaded with veggies, doritos ( 200 cal), water
My family gasped and asked, "Did you take a picture of all of our food?" Yep! That is my son on the left eating a whole sub by himself and his chips and a drink and was still hungry!
I guess those chips did me in, or maybe I was overdo for a caffeine fix or something because I came home grumpy for no good reason. So, time for a 10 minute relax and reboot session on my bed followed by some vitamins and a snack.
water, strawberries, 125 gr dark chocolate w/ hazelnuts, 25 gr low-fat cheese
supper: BioBio spinach and cheese pizza (321 cal) , plus 20 gr low-fat cheese, 90 gr tomatoes, 25 gr mushrooms, 10 grams ham, 2 cups salad with grape seed oil and balsamic vinegar
Thankful today for:
-a great Bible study
-a fun morning with my big kids
-the scent of the blue hyacinth blooming in the window - Wow!

Today was my on-the-go day. My students are getting ready for their graduation exams and that means lots and lots of extra English study hours. So, while most people are relaxing for spring break, my students are scheduling cram sessions. I gave everyone their assignments at breakfast this morning and hit the road on . . . are you ready? . . . on my bike! Yay! It is the first exercise I have gotten in in over a week due to being sick. It felt good to be active, but I could feel the "cold" still lingering deep in my chest. In my everyday routine, I feel great. My energy level is back up and I am even tackling a room-rescue project. BUT, I realized today that I need to be careful so that my body has a chance to heal completely.
