It's the end of the week; I feel great about this week! I did at least 20 minutes of exercise everyday except Wednesday! Food intake is getting better, I am doing good with fruits, but veggies are still a struggle for me. The only veggie I ate this week was lettuce on a few sandwiches and salad with tomatoes. These veggies can get pricey and they go bad in a few days but I'm gonna try harder to work my way up to 3-5 veggies a day! I had spinach in a salad last week from a salad bar at the restaurant we ate at and it was good, but I can't seem to eat it at home?! And I can't afford a $6 salad that often! Well tomorrow starts a new week for me and I feel pretty good going into it. I am slowly reaching my goals and feel proud of myself at the moment. I weigh in tomorrow also, and I'm hoping to see a change on the scale but if not its not gonna let me down. I know I am doing better for myself!

    I prefer to eat veggies over fruits, honestly. Because I can buy veggies frozen and throw some in with almost every meal I make. What kind to you like? I buy a bag of peas and carrots, a huge bag of broccoli, and corn. I also do steamed veggies alot as a side item to meals. But I'm a huge fan of one pot meals, so they usually just can throw in with whatever. You can also use canned veggies. Green beans are my favorite. And corn. Both of these ways, the veggies will last longer and be less likely to spoil. Freggies are awesome, don't get me wrong, but if you're on a tight budget, then sometimes frozen and canned are the better way to go.

It's a new Week!

Today is Monday! I only walked 3 days last week and as you know didn't keep good eating habits over the weekend. Although when my hubby took me out to dinner I had a nice grilled steak and grilled shrimp, but the appetizer was fried and I couldnt resist! I didnt have dessert so I didnt over-do it too bad.

Well this week has started off pretty good. My son kept me up til 1 am so I slept in and didnt have breakfast but I did have a turkey sandwich and baked chips for lunch! Dinner was a baked chicken breast with green beans & corn! Last night I baked a low cal bread pudding from SP recipes and it is delicious, it is enough to eat for 3 days!

I started off walking a mile today, and plan to increase it to a mile and half by Thursday. I would like to be up to 2 miles by the end of October. I tried doing some of the workout videos but I am not too enthused with them so maybe I'll find something else for an evening workout.

Busy Week....

First I'd like to say Sorry I haven't been here for a few days, it was mine and my husbands birthday and we were spending time together. My husband also had some dental work done and I was making lots of soups and keeping busy taking care of him and our son! This week hasn't been good food choice wise or exercise, but I will say this, I Did Not Give Up, as you can see I am continuing my journey. I just need a good nights rest from all the celebrating with hubby, who returned to work today. Tomorrow I will continue my workout plan and plan the rest of the weeks meals/routine. I haven't weighed in, but on Monday I will and hopefully I didnt gain too much. I promise myself to make up for the downfalls. But the #1 thing is not to give up! emoticon

Busy, blah day.....

I had more things to get done today than any regular day. Therefore I was challenged today with my food choices. On the run all day, for lunch I made a wise choice with salad, but it was self serve salad bar so I added a few extras from the bar(like pudding)....not so wise but not extremely bad. Dinner on the other hand was before I went grocery shopping and the salad had really worn off and my gut was twisting! I had tacos :/ 340 Cals for 2! Wow I really have been hurting about that one bc it caused me to lose a snack. The grocery shopping went well though, I didnt pick up unhealthy food/snacks. I got turkey products and some good snacks that I can share with my son! He loves the honey wheat crackers! I wanted to try the Special K chips but they were a little over my budget so maybe next time. God must have been watching me really closely today bc I was so worried bc we were running out of milk and certain foods my son eats and our bank account is in the negative. My husband got a refund on his card so he called me from work to let me know I can go get a few groceries! I was lifted then and knew the blessing was from above! From this day forward I am vowing to keep my self in line bc there are better days coming my way!

A friend posted this on my Facebook page tonight and it brought a huge smile to my face.

Feeling the love....

My husband was off today and we spent the entire day together! We even went for a mile walk together and he helped me keep my pace! We also spent some time walking around the duck pond and just enjoying the day! IT WAS LOVELY! We dont get many days like this bc he works many hours and is tired when he comes home. He has a goal now to complete a mile and half run in less than 15 minutes, I am glad he is setting a goal for himself! So after having a nice, relaxing day with him and our son, I finally logged on and I am feeling the Love tonight from all my SP friends! Thanks to you all, my level of confidence has been boosted 100%!

    That is so romantic & wonderful that your husband joins you & helps you keep your pace!! Back when my husband's work schedule allowed it & we both had the energy, we'd walk the back roads of our neighborhood with weighted vests on! ;-) And he stayed behind me, sometimes he said it was so he could watch my backside! Lol! Anyway, high-five to your hubby for his Support! When will u post a pic of your precious son? I bet he's Gorgeous! emoticon emoticon emoticon
