Back to where I Started

Saturday, February 25, 2012

So I really messed up between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Without going into the gory details of over eating, I will spare you that.
Today I feel I'm back to where I was then. I never get on the scales, so I have no idea how much damage was done. Just my jeans wouldn't zip. I was uncomfortable in most cloths.
I restated tracking and measuring the first of the year.
My jeans fit, comfortable, And i feel better,,,,yeah. I even have some pep, I have a long way to go, there still is hope,

I need a life.

Saturday, May 29, 2010

Ok, so I'm working on it. I have hibernated for so long. I am slowing coming out. There are a few good days. I am leaning how to enjoy them and move on. Just say no and stay home when I need to. I have never been very good at saying no. People will like you if you always do what they want done.

Guess Iv finely decided I need to fix me and no one else can. I can say No. But it is still not easy. I like doing things for others.

So I need to exercise, and by the time I get 3- 20 sessions in a day and my regular stuff to do, not much time to do anything else. And some days it just doesn't get done. Then I get determined and back at it for a few more days.

This will pay off in the end, I am worth it. I want a life.

Believe me, I know EXACTLY what you mean. I also find it hard to say no, and worse than that, when I say no I feel GUILTY. I am so tired of feeling guilty for trying to take care of me, but have not made much progress in that area. I have also found that the more you do the more you are expected to do. I have not been doing well with staying on my healthy eating plan lately and have gained about 3 pounds. I have to get motivated again. I can tell a difference in the way I feel both mentally and physically. I hope you continue to do well and wish you the best. And I still wish you were my neighbor. :)

Hey girlfriend, you are so right; you not only need a life but you deserve a life. The more you do for yourself, the quicker others will realize that you have become your own priority. And I'm thinking the more we take care of ourselves, the more energy and stamina we'll have to give to others anyway. So when you consider that, it becomes a win win proposition.
Stay the course and don't give up because you really are doing the right things.

My kids had a babysitter years ago, a teenage girl who was really terrific but talked at 500 words per minute with gusts to 1000. One day when I was driving her home she stopped in the middle of a sentence to say, "I bet you're thinking, 'get a life, Stacie', but I have a life. I just want another life." Still makes me chuckle - but very profound as well.

You can do this! emoticon

You are right, you are worth it! Every drop of sweat that stings your eyes is a reminder of what you've committed yourself to: a life less unhealthy. Keep up the great work and never, ever surrender!

Sometimes saying No is necessary, and yes it is hard, but you have to set priorities each day of what you really want to accomplish and then do it. Remember you have to be at the top of the list, because as it was once explained to me, if you don't take of yourself then who will and the boys need you, so keep in mind in order to be there for your family you have to take care of yourself, or all the rest just won't matter.

You are so right! It's time to put you on that list too! I know where your coming from and have had the same conversation with myself too!

Garage Sale Ham

Friday, May 28, 2010

I gotta tell this story. My friend stopped by yesterday and we were visiting. Garage sales came up in the conversation. We both like them. She said what's the weirdest thing you ever bought from a garage sale. Really couldn't think of anything that weird. She said I just bought a ham for 60 cents a pound at a garage sale. WHAT????

Ok, first how does it come about you put a ham in a garage sale? Does the conversation go like this. " Hon I just cked the freezer and there is this extra ham, how much do you think it will bring at the sale?" Or " kids we're cleaning out all we don't use, ck the freezer to see if there is too many hams, we'll sell some" Or, "We don't need this ham any more, want to sell it?"

Then who buys a ham at a garage sale? " Hon, lets go garage sale'en today, maybe we can find a ham!"

And last the question is would you buy a ham at a garage sale? emoticon

maybe they were Jewish and don't eat ham,and someone gave it to them as a gift, or he won it at a raffle somewhere.

I agree it is a little strange, and kinda funny, but as long as it looked good ...... go for it!

That is so funny! I wonder if it was the canned kind, that has an expiration date.

I don't know the circumstances your friend encountered, but from a stranger I really doubt it. Food handling is such a tricky issue; and with meat I probably wouldn't feel overly safe. But I can see you getting a big laugh out of it.

I don't do too many garage sales, but it is more a matter of time rather than interest. But now I have this new buddy, maybe things could change. emoticon

So tomorrow I am meeting a fellow Indiana Sparker. We found we only live about 20 mins apart. We're meeting for coffee. Maybe we can get together for exercise. I'm excited.
