P90X - My own version of Doubles!

Wednesday, May 05, 2010

After completing my Arms and Shoulders this AM with maximum reps and 10 pound weights, I followed up with a 9.6 mile bike ride in 46 minutes, which added another 500 calorie burn to my burn bank today! 170's, you will soon be a thing of the past. Good riddance!

P90X Round Two Week Two Day 3

Wednesday, May 05, 2010

Well, I did it! I completed Shoulders and Arms today and I did all but one exercise iwth 10 pound weights and maximum reps! I ussed 5 pounders for the straight arm fly in the bonus round. They were too light. I may have been able to do the 10s but I think 8s would have been perfect. I'll have to dig them out before next time. The thing that amazed me the most was my form was perfect and I could have done it again! I couldn't say that the first time around! I even managed 20 chair dips each time with my legs straight and 20 of the side tricep push ups each time. I may not look like one of Tony's girls but I did more reps than Dreya, who is supposedly the matter of that move! Yay ME!

Managed my bike ride again last night. 6.5 miles in 31 minutes. About 2 miles in, when I hit the first big hill, my legs felt so weak from riding the day before but I pushed through it and by 4 miles I was rocking! I made it home just as the skies opened up for the third time. God was smiling on me yesterday!

It's cooler today but sunny, so another bike ride it is. I'm feeling ready to add miles already, which really surprises me, considering how I felt 2 miles in yesterday. The mind is a wonderful thing, isn't it? You accomplish one thing you set your mind to and all the sudden it thinks you can do more! Positive breeds positive and I'm in business!

P90X Week One Day 2... yes, again...

Tuesday, May 04, 2010

Ooohhh, I'm so excited!! I have some new blog followers! I love your comments and input so please keep coming back for more. I'll do my best not to bore you.

Core Syn today and I did good! I began every move as instructed and only had to modify a handful in order to keep going for the intended time. My push ups are SO much better than they were last round! FYI, I completed Phase one and began Phase two but then life got in the way and I lost my motivation,.... temporarily. I'm back now and I am SO ready for it this time. I do have a couple of short trips durign the next 90 days that will knock me off track slightly but I will find an alternative for those times, evenif it's just walking.

I will also confess that I HATE indoor exercise when it's nice out. Living in NNY, we don't get a whole lot of "nice out", so I may opt for outdoor cardio from time to time.

Oh yeah, I was able to get in a 6.5 mile bike ride last night, which was awesome! Then a very good friend informed me that I had just done a Doubles routine. You see, she's doing Doubles right now and I accused her of beign insane. Guess she's contagious cuz I've decided to give doubles a shot, with my own choice of cardio added. And Yes, it will be outside cardio.

So, we'll see if I can keep it up this time around. I think the key will be to forgive myself when time doesn't allow my workout and pick up where I left off the next chance I get.

P90X Week One Day one .... again!

Monday, May 03, 2010

I finally found my mojo and I'm back on track with Tony. Did Cardio X this AM and was totally amazed at how easy it was for me to keep up. I've decided to start over again because I'm starting BLC Round 13 today and they both last for 90 days.

I got my sweat on big time! The humidity in the air played a huge part, I'm sure. I made it through the routine without pausing the dvd once. What shocked me the most was how good my push ups were. A huge improvement over my first Day one, that's for sure.

I spent my weekend purging all the negative thoughts from my head and binging on positive ones. I can't believe how much better I feel about myself, my life, my routine, my everything. That is something I will continue to remind myself to do.

It's great to be back and to have a positive outlook to go with it.

Way to go with the P90x training. That program is a killer! I started it last year, but then found it was too much with my half marathon training. I plan on doing it again over the summer though. Have a wild ride!

WTG! And you didn't pause! great. DH and I are starting another round of P90 again on Weds so your Blog caught my eye. We tend to laugh through the pain - the laughter is sparked by one of us glaring at Tony & mock talking back to him during our workouts. We have to pause to catch our breath quite a lot as you can imagine.
Good luck with this new round.

Keep up the hard work! I know that is not an easy program to get thru! The first time a friend of mine did it, he said he found muscles he didn't know he had!! (then couldn't use others for several days after) - even some friends in the military commented how hard the program was for them - so keep it up!! :)

I'm sticking with it but boy is it tough!

Tuesday, April 20, 2010

I've decided to concentrate on various forms of cardio and begin P90X Lean all over again from day one to coincide with the next round of BLC. I made this decision after beginning my Core Syn today and feeling WAAAAAAY out of shape. How does that happen so quickly? It's only been two weeks!

I have alot of outdoor work to do today, which is a good thing, so I only did 30 minutes of cardio today inside. I opted for dancing today. Easy workout and I only burned 144 calories. I promise I will better thaqt with my outdoor work and I may even wear my HRM just so I know where I stand.

I'm really disappointed in the way my body feels today. I feel sluggish and weak. What gives? I guess it's just one of those days but I don't welcome it on the heels of a two week break. I keep wondering what to blame this on, ... hormones? age? diet? but it really doesn't matter what is responsible. What matters is I have to beat it! Maybe I'm just craving the outside work so much that I'm sabotaging my inside efforts. I guess the best thing to do is just accept how I feel and move on.

I'm really hating myself right now for taking the break. I keep thinking about where I could be if I had just stuck with it and pushed through what I was dealing with but there is no sense crying over spilled milk. I need to clean up my mess and move on. A good night's sleep would certainly help! Again, I'm blaming that one on my hormones too. I know, I know, stop blaming, start repairing. I'm trying! Really! I AM!

Instead of hating yourself for taking that break, love and respect yourself for continuing, for moving on, for starting again.

2 weeks away from p90x can be tough to jump back in. The other day I did a leg routine that I hadn't done in a LONG time... man o man... my legs and butt sure felt the difference!

The important thing is to keep going. any exercise is better than none... sometimes we need to forgive ourselves and not dwell on our mistakes, or excuses...

Two weeks is really no big deal. The feeling out of shape and sluggish, is probably mostly a mental block, not physical. So once you get up and do it for a few days, you will be right back on track. Just PUSH the next few days, and things WILL get easier! And think of the payoff!

Have fun gardening! Im jealous!
