P90X Week Three Day 4

YES! I've got my mojo back! I made it through the entire Yoga X routine today and it felt AMAZING! Only had trouble with one of the balance poses, which is pretty good, as far as I'm concerned. Balancing on my hands while my knees are in my armpits is just not my forte.

It's nice to know it was just my cold and sinuses that messed me up yesterday. I was really feeling pretty low after my failed attempt at Cardio X.

I was afraid of what my week off might do to my body but during my Yoga routine, I was pleased to see the muscles in my legs and arms come to life again. I may be a week behind but I'm going to finish out week three this week and since I was off for the past 7 days, I think I may just hop right back in and skip my recovery week. That will put me back on schedule with everyone else and if the past seven days didn't allow for recovery, I don't know what would. If it's too much once I start, I'll rethink skipping the recovery week but after today, I feel like I can handle anything.

Hopefully the weather will begin to look and feel like spring again soon because I'm itching to get back out on my bike.

Did I mention, I have my mojo back? emoticon

P90X Week Three partial repeat

With my traveling and being sick, I really got off track with P90X so I've decided to switch things up a bit and count this as the second half of my Week 3. I pulled out the ol' Cardio X this morning and was SO ready for Tony to whip me into shape. I started off so strong, even managing to pump out some relatively respectable push ups, then.... it hit me! I totally lost ALL the wind in my sails! OMG, I thought I'd died! I'm pretty sure it's due more to the cold I've been fighting, rather than being away from Tony for so many days. At least I hope so! I was 12 minutes into the routine and I felt like quitting. I was stubborn and kept pushing myself, hoping I would peak the hill and be ready to come down the other side, BUT, after another 8 minutes, I died! TOTALLY! FLAT! Kaput! The Energizer Bunny could have done laps around me backwards! And he would have been laughing! You know the feeling you get when NyQuil kicks in? Well I was WAAAYYY past that feeling!! And I would know because I've been living on it for the past several days. I will attempt another shot at it later tonight but unless I feel much better than I do right now, I'm not that hopeful. One way or another I will do something! That is a promise!

    I've been there too. I think it just happens sometimes and it's our body's way of telling us that something's not quite right and we need to cool it. Good for you for listening to your body! Maybe later things will go better, but even if not, there's a reason for it.

    ugh... so sorry to hear about ur workout gone bad :(
I've had that problem in the past... it's NO fun!!! Take care of you... do your best forget the rest! It won't help you at all if you aggravate it and end up out for the count! be good to yourself!

Doing my P90X routines while on the road has not been as easy as I'd hoped. 5 people, 2 beds and an air mattress don't leave much room for excerise. But I haven't let that stop me completely. I actually checked out the hotel gym and managed 30 minutes on the ecliptical and another 30 on the recumbant bike last night. It felt GREAT!!!!

    Great idea in visiting the hotel gym, that takes discipline to find exercise instead of finding an excuse. Super Fantastic for you. emoticon

P90X Week Three Day 3

Not off to a great start today. Still fighting a horrible cold. Took Nyquil last night and slept right through my exercise hour. On a good note, I did manage to get in a 34 minute, 6 1/2 mile bike ride last night, which added to yesterday's calorie burn. DD and I are headed out to Kansas City, MO for the International Jr Miss Midwest pageant, as soon as school lets out today. Allyssa is the reigning International Teen for the IJM system and will be cohosting the Midwest pageant with the reigning International Miss. While in Kansas City, she will also be competing in a modeling competition that is being run in the area.

We have a 20 hour drive ahead of us, two days of pageant work and modeling competition, and then a 20 hour drive home, so I'm going to be hard pressed to find time to fit in my affair with Tony while I'm gone, BUT I AM taking my laptop AND I AM taking my P90X dvds, so I will do my best to sneak off with him whenever possible. I may not get in full workouts but, as Tony says, I'll do my best and forget the rest. One thing I am good at while traveling is drinking my water. The only other thing I have to worry about is taking some healthy snacks to keep me eating right.

Now it's off to finish packing, then get to work for a few hours, then pick up Allyssa and hit the road. Oh how I wish I had time for Tony right now! I really do miss my time with him!

    You know... Kansas City MO is only about 8-10 hrs away from me :) If you go through TN, (not sure where you're coming from) you'll probably drive right by me!!! If you have time on the drive back, you could always swing by for lunch :D:D:D:D:D:D

P90X Week Three Day 2

DANG I worked hard today! So much for this being an easy workout. Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining and I brought it on myself. I'm still not losing weight, which has me very annoyed, so I bumped up my weights where I could and my reps everywhere. I literally pushed my muscles to exhaustion. If I still had more power in me, I paused the DVD and kept on going. I also did the bonus round again. By the time I got to it, I considered skipping it but since I'd done it both times before, I went for it. Then, ... it was time for Ab Ripper X. Holy crap! I wasn't sure I was going to make it through. I even hit pause and rested a couple times and skipped one of the exercises completely. Now I can't even remember which one it was. I was so glad to get to the end of it. I was soaked in sweat. My muscles were screaming at me and I would have liked nothing better than to crash right then and there. Unfortunately that was not an option.

Do you suppose maybe Tony was ticked at me because I stood him up yesterday and went for a bike ride instead. Do you suppose maybe he decided to teach me a lesson. Hmmmm..... I'd like to say "I'm sorry Tony. It won't happen again. " but when the weather is unseasonably warm, I've missed my morning workout due to time constraints and my bike is calling for me, it's hard to resist. What I will say is I will do my best to fit my routine in every morning whenever possible so I won't have to choose one over the other again, but that's the best I can do.

    Way to go on pushing yourself... but DON'T overdo it!!! Do your best and forget the rest... Your body is probably retaining a TON of water to heal the muscles and compensate for how hard you're working them. I am super competitive with myself, and I find it usually gets me into trouble. Your increase in inches is probably due to the fact that you're working on and building the muscles right now, and the fat around them hasn't changed. Try to work in your fat burning zone a little more...

    I watched this video that one of the coaches put on youtube and he said that if you are trying to lose weight then you shouldn't take in as many calories as the guidelines have you take in...he said that if you want you can take in less cals to have you lose weight. That is what I am doing. Mine said that I should take in 1800 but I am taking in 1500 instead. Maybe that would help you with the weight loss. Also, if you want to lose weight and have lean muscles you do less weight on more reps....if you want to build muscle then you do more weight. So maybe you want to lessen your weights and do more reps. :) I am sure you already know all this but Hope that helps some!
