P90X Week Two Day 4

OK, life got in the way today and I never found the time for Yoga X. My plan for tomorrow is to do it and Legs and Back. Ugh, I just realized that also includes Ab Ripper X. Sounds like I've got my work cut out for me tomorrow. Can I do it? Hmmmm.... I'm not sure, but I'll give it my best shot. I'm really annoyed that I'm off schedule.

    Wow Tammy, that would be an awful lot to tackle in one day! You know me- I'd blow off the yog-ugh for this week and just do the legs, back, and abs. Don't let getting off schedule get you totally off track. Do your best and forget the rest!

    I could see how you could not find time for yoga x..its awfull...just throw some extra cardio in there..and remember what tony your best..and forget the rest...You motivate me everyday.

P90X Week Two Day 3

Week 2 - Day 3: Shoulders and Arms AND Ab Ripper X!!! emoticon
HUGE improvement over last week! Not only was I able to follow S&A with ARX, I ditched my 5lb weights for 10s and 12s AND did 12 -20 reps on every exercise! Where is this coming from??? I am totally amazed at my rate of improvement. S&A was 100% participation today. ARX was 95% but I知 still subbing crunches for full sit ups. Even with the increase in weights, I still handled the bonus round with ease. Throughout S&A, the only time I stopped before 15 reps was because I壇 reached my limit and couldn稚 squeeze one more in. If I could pound out a few more after 15, I pushed to my limit or to 20 reps, whichever came first. I think this is my favorite routine. Probably because it痴 muscles I use every day and I already have a good amount of strength in them. No weight loss this week but I知 not really surprised since I知 building muscle as I知 losing fat, and there is no doubt I知 doing both! I知 going shopping for a HRM today. Thought I could get by without one but now I知 curious to see my calorie burn, etc. so I知 splurging. I guess I could consider it a prize for not only starting, but sticking with P90X for 10 days so far. I truly don稚 see myself wimping out now. I知 half way through my first 3 weeks already and then I have a recovery week to look forward too. I知 also looking forward to checking my measurements at 30 days to see where I stand. As I look at my before pics, I already think I see an improvement. I知 not going to chance it by taking another set for comparison. For now, I値l just look through my rose colored glasses and enjoy what I see. 30 days will come soon enough.

    I had the same workout today too. I felt really strong, which is good after my crap-o day yesterday. I definitely think you should reward yourself with a HRM for starting and sticking with P90X! Keep up the great work!

I stuck with the 5 lb weights and did 15 reps...So you're doing better than me!!! (I'm tying to get myself healthy again) the abx seemed super ez today... I did almost ALL of them! some of them I only did 20 instead of the 25... You're doing great! keep up the good work!

P90X week Two Day 2

Week 2 - Day 2: Cardio X emoticon

OMG, what a workout!! I really pushed myself to my limits today and did ALL but one set of whacky jacks. I modified the dreya roll. Did everything BUT stand up. Still kept my heart pumping so I figured it was better than skipping it all together. At least I had the energy to attempt my own variation today. Up until now, I致e kind of ignored poor Dreya due to absolute lack of any more energy. I continue to amaze myself with my progress.

Last night I was still so pumped from my morning workout, I took on 6.5 miles on my bike. I was amazed I was able to do the entire loop in top gear. It usually takes me weeks to work up to that AND I致e NEVER, EVER gotten my bike out in March before. May, yes, but not March! 46F

I知 also pleased to report that I will now call Cardio X by it痴 appropriate name. I no longer consider it Cardio OW! you suppose Yog..ugh will return to being yoga, tomorrow? We shall see.

OOOOO, OOOOOOO, OOOOOO, .I actually did the push ups (sort of anyway) in the CardioX yoga sequence, . And I wasn稚 ready to strangle Tony when I was done!!! Not sure his neck will be safe after his plank/upward dog/push up/downward dog marathon tomorrow. No promises on that one.

Oooh, gotta share this. Last night DH, 14 yr old and 17 yr old DDs were inspired by me. The had a 斗et痴 compare push ups contest in the living room. 17 yo DD is AMAZING!! Strength is apparently another thing wasted on youth. She was sweet however. I was gushing over her form and strength and I showed her how much better hers were than mine and she had the sweetness of character to say, 溺om, that痴 pretty good! Remind me to raise her allowance. LOL! Even though I didn稚 believe her apparent sincerity, it did make me feel pretty good. Apparently I not so bad that she can稚 find something relatively close to passable in my form. I mean if I was floppy like a fish out of water, she壇 sound pretty ridiculous telling me I was pretty good. Right? Hmmm, I wonder if she wants something......... car keys comes to mind...

P90X Week Two Day 1

Week Two !!!!! Boy does that feel good to write!! I made it through all 6 workouts and even added extra cardio several days.

Core Synergenics emoticon I was pleasantly surprised by how much more I was able to do this week, as compared to last. And Sweat? Hell yeah! Must be I worked out harder this round too. The only moves I'm still struggling with are anything plank or push up oriented although I was able to pump out a few more each set. I still am not getting down very low on my push ups but I'm sure that will come with time. At least I'm doing something that resembles a push up. I still haven't done the Dreya Roll or the bonus round for this one. I never seem to have the energy for the Dreya Roll at the end. I'm going to try it earlier in the workout next time. I may even try it tonight or tomorrow. It looks like fun but I'm ready to quit by the time they get to it. I did attempt it once and couldn't even get off the floor. LOL! Talk about stuck! It was NOT pretty!

I'm hoping to squeeze in 30 minutes of cardio this afternoon or evening. I learned my lesson the hard way. I can not do my P90X routine in the afternoon or evening and expect to sleep at night. I tossed and turned all night, trying to stretch out sore muscles. On top of that, my body temp stayed way too high for sleeping for several hours. Extra cardio doesn't seem to have the same effect. I guess that just proves how much harder I work out with P90X. The funny thing was I wasn't sore this AM. Must have stretched enough during the night. LOL!

Cardio OW tomorrow. Ugh! Oh well. Last week it was easier than Core Syn. Hopefully I'll see an improvement there too.

    I don't think I could pull off any workout that close to bed time unless it is Yoga... which was a great relaxer for me!

I have found that dripping sweat is an inevitable side effect to P90x :) The Dreya Roll takes some time to get the hang of... I looked pathetic for a LONG time! I've noticed the last couple times I've done it, I spring right off the floor... it just takes time!!!

You are doing some great work! Keep it up!

    This is so great! and I hearya on exercise; I read after the fact that one should not exercise heavily within four hours of bedtime!

It is AMAZING how fast our bodies learn and respond! You are gonna be one heckuva buff babe!

P90X Week One Day 7

Kenpo X emoticon Way too much on the agenda yesterday to fit in one more thing, so today was my Kenpo day. I got up first thing this morning, ready to attack it, then my DH came inside raving about what a nice day it was. We don稚 get weather like this in NNY, in early March very often, so outside I went. Fast forward, several hours later. 3 year old filly trained for about 30 minutes, 4 others groomed, went to the feed store - a dozen 50 lb feed bags and a half dozen 25 lb bags loaded and unloaded, walk completed, and after all that, came inside and did Kenpo X.

My only complaint is I need more warm up and stretching. Next round, I値l add my own warm and stretching before I begin the routine. OK, I lied. I have another complaint. I DO NOT like having an audience while I do P90X! Today DH and 2 DDs felt the need to critique my movements and form. I listened for about two minutes and then I told them to jump in or shut up. They shut up. LOL! Chickens!

OK, Kenpo Xthe punches and footwork are a little confusing to keep up with but I知 catching on. I LOVE the kicks and blocks.

Week one behind me and I知 anxious to see how much further I get with week two. Oh yeah, remember those muscles that I said weren稚 sore any more. I lied again.
