Hey

Wednesday, June 09, 2010

It has been a couple of days since my last blog. I have been so busy what with all my puppies and just life in general. On the puppy front we have 16 total from two dogs. each had 8 and they all lived. woohoo. Will put a pic as soon as I have a moment to get them off the camera. the daddies owners are helping to get rid of them so we are good in that department.

Myself i've been great. I have been keeping up with my routine, staying on plan, and getting my sleep finally. My husband built two beds for the dogs and now all puppies are in their respective spots, that is until they can move freely, but for now all is quiet on the western front.

no rain the last few days so i've gotten in some walking and some swimming. I tell ya the swimming sure helps with sleep.

Well I guess that is it for now. Not much new here, all the excitement is over with for a while. lthank goodness I like my quiet life. I want to wish all a sparking good day.

Omg, puppies everywhere!!!!

Saturday, June 05, 2010

IT has happened. both of our pregnant pups had pups...one had 8, count them 8, the other 3 so far. Not sure if she is done yet or not. We went out to get my treadmill and when we came home she had two of them in my hubbies recliner. Not good for him...felt bad for her. We should of been with her but had no idea she was even in labor. wow, so many at one time. two days apart...

Oh well life here on the farm will continue. I will have much bedding to wash but that is all in a days work. Pups anyone? lol.

On a good note this has been a slow week for me and my exercise. Rain daily has slowed down my outdoor walks. but not now, I have my new to me treadmill. A friend was selling and I was buying. We are both happy. lol.

OH well, i'm off to check on my sasha and make sure she is ok. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

OOOHHH I LOVE the puppies!! I would tell you I want one for sure...but my wonderful husband told me after I put Misti down a couple weeks ago that we were out of the dog business. We still have our daughter's dog....for now - but he said no more...We'll see - he is being very sensible since we do travel a good bit....but gosh I love having the dogs around....and puppies...don't even get me started. BTW - that IS a lot of pups for you at once. Have fun with your "new" treadmill!

Not all was lost

Thursday, June 03, 2010

Funny, yesterday I had plans with my daughter to meet for lunch then go for a walk in town. Well we met, the rain followed us. When we got to the restaurant we had to wait out the flood after our meal. So we decided she needed a few things and we went to walmart to get those and some steps in walking at any rate. I had a chance to help my daughter to select good food, help with a few meals, give suggestions and we laughed over some of her "ideas" and she kinds balked at some of mine. I had a chance to let her know this is a journey, not a diet. She has the option to choose and eat anything she wants. Just eat within reason.

You see my daughter bless her heart is very overweight. She is an emotional eater and like she said yesterday she eats when she is happy, mad, sad, or bored. I told her that she will have to just do something else when she finds herself heading for food. I gave her my suggestions and told her what I do. She can decide from there. she is 24 years old, she has high blood pressure and she is the mother to a wonderful two year old son. I told her she needs to think about him. If she wants to be around for him she needs to take care of herself now. I can't force her to lose the weight, all I can do is be there for her and guide her if that is what she asks of me. If I push, she will flee.....she we make it fun by meeting for lunch and taking walks. Since it rained, we are meeting saturday to give it another try.

We all have something we are trying to overcome. For me it is and was self esteem issues that I have had since childhood and then they got worse with ex husband that was very much in control of me. I lived for my two children and somewhere in there I got lost. Well i'm coming out day by day. i"m stronger then ever and If I lead they will follow. I'm hoping that is what i'm doing with my family....leading.

now i'm off to begin my new day. For each day brings new challenges for me and each night as I lay down my head I like knowing i have succeeded in doing the best I could for me.

You are an amazing strong woman; fantastic job of taking care of yourself and meeting challenges head on and proving to yourself that you have the strength and determination to be the best self you can be! I do hope that your daughter will follow the good example you are setting and join you on this journey for her health. Hang in there you are fabulous!!

That's pretty awesome you are there helping your daughter along her journey. Everyone needs some kind of support system, so what's better than having a parent there to help. Hope you two enjoy both of your journeys together! :)

Another wet day

Wednesday, June 02, 2010

Welcome to Alabama, home of the rain. Actually it has been rather hot here and we needed to rain. I just wish it wasn't today. I have plans with my daughter to go walking and we were meeting for lunch before hand. Lunch is ok, but it is the walking. I needed that exercise today. Yesterday I missed my lunch walk because of a storm, and now this. OH well.

I just have goals set for myself and I would like to meet them this week. I don't like the thought of the first week out of the month i've slipped. No not due to me, but still the numbers aren't there. Oh well. life will go on.

i'm off from work today and I'm going to get some things done around here. We have finally a roof on our porch and now i'm going to get that set up. Next screen and that will be that. Life is good at the homestead. My husband has been so into cleaning up his messes and such that i fear I may come home one day and my things will be gone because he feels they are cluttering up the house. lol. actually it looks good around our yard. He had piles by his shed and an old camper that he was going ot fix up. Well all that is gone. I guess he decided he just didn't have the time or money for that camper. He took it to junk. wow what a difference that made.

Small things make big differences. We take small steps everyday and before long we are where we want to be and seeing the results. So i'm off to take a few small steps today. I have goals in mind for this month and I would love to see them come to be. emoticon

Hey sorry about all the rain. I am your neighbor in Ga and we are getting sporadic rain as well. BUT I remember last year with the drought so I just grin and bear it lol. Do you have any Leslie Sansone WATP tapes. She gets on my nerves sometimes but that 4 mile w/o is ON!! The cool thing is you can do all 4 or stop at one depending on your time frame. Just a thought. Have a great day....

You WILL see your goals come true and I will be here cheering you on! It is raining here again today too...I almost gave away that old treadmill that I just didn't have room for...now I'm glad I didn't! It may be hot in the garage but at least I can walk on these stormy days! Other than that I do vidoes, but somehow nothing is the same as walking outdoors...just seems to clear the head!
Baby steps toward our goals, no matter what those goals are, and we will be where we want to be!

Hey, it never rains here (or let's say hardly ever)...
Maybe you can do your walking indoors (elliptical/treadmill), or maybe just knock yourself out doing those chores around the house. That can be quite an exercise as well.
Wishing you a successful Wednesday.
