Awesome Sunday

Sunday, February 21, 2010

This was the best sunday I think i've had in a long time. Got up early and had my coffee, started on some cleaning, laundry hung out on the line, cleaned the front flower beds and mulched, prepared a ww mac and cheese with roast for dinner and hubby and I went for a short walk with dogs before supper.

I got in some exercise and enjoyed each moment of it. Gotta love it when that happens. Yesterday I wanted to enjoy the weather we have been having here but I was so tired from a very long week of work i just lazed around. But today I made up for it.

I"m on track with my points (calories) and I got in 10 glasses of water. Got all five fruits and veggies and some exercise. what isn't to love about this day.

Not only all this but i'm down another half pound this week. I can see from here on it is going to be slow as i'm about this close (fingers barely touching) to goal weight for me. I'm doing the happy dance right now, only seven more pounds to go. I even made my hubby change the battery in my ww scales today just to be sure. lol.

I will get there from here. One day at a time.

Always a new way

Saturday, February 20, 2010

Where there's a will, there's a way.
- old English proverb

When I saw this quote this morning I knew this had to come to my blog. We all have a will to lose this weight, get healthy, and continue or begin this journey. It is up to us to find the way. Spark gives us the tools we just have to figure out which hand works best and how to use them.

This week I thought I had found a way by planning each day out in advance, it worked the first five days. Then last night I home and eat a healthy dinner, then sit down with popcorn (which in itself isn't bad) and then it hits.....the munchies. I still did ok and stayed in my points range but lets just say today is going to be very tough. I will have to stay right on to come out ahead this week. We all know that the weekends are the worse. But alas I have a new way today, i'm getting outside. Weather here is central alabama is going to be in mid sixties, sun shinning and i'm going to get outside and get in a run/walk, get some flower beds cleared out, and maybe even get some laundry hung. For me staying busy is going to be my way.

So in closing this blog I guess what we need to remember is where one idea may not work, there is plenty more where that came from. we are going to get there from here, it just may take a bit of planning and a few failures to get to the end result. Be patient. Good things come to those who wait. emoticon

I think the weekends are tough for everyone. I had the munchies bad yesterday. Do red vines count as a fruit or vegetable?

GOOD MORNING

Friday, February 19, 2010

WELL HERE I SIT, GETTING READY TO GET IN MY MORNING EXERCISE. THE GROUND IS WHITE OUTSIDE MY WINDOW, NOT FROM SNOW FROM FROST. REALLY I DON'T KNOW WHICH I WOULD WANT LESS. COLD IS COLD. I'M READY TO GET OUTSIDE AND RUN. THIS WEEKEND I THINK, SUPPOSE TO WARM UP.

SINCE I WON'T GO OUT IN THE COLD I WILL JUMP ON MY ELLIPTICAL AND GET TO IT. I'VE BEEN SAVING FOR A TREADMILL AND I WANT THE GOOD ONE SO I'M ABOUT HALF WAY THERE. CAN'T WAIT. SO DETERMINATION PAYS OFF. I SET A GOAL AND I'M STICKING WITH IT. BE IT WEIGHT LOSS OR SAVING FOR A MUCH COVETED TREASURE. THAT IS WHAT SPARK IS ALL ABOUT. SETTING GOALS AND ATTAINING THEM.

THIS MORNING I READ BLOGS WHERE SOME HAD LOST NO WEIGHT AND WANTED TO GIVE IN. THAT IS NOT AN OPTION. OH I SOMETIMES WHINE AND THINK I MAY WANT TO, BUT THEN I WAKE UP FROM THE MOMENT AND HELLO, I'M STILL GOING AT IT. YES I HAVE BAD WEEKS, AND YES I HAVE BAD MOMENTS BUT THAT IS WHAT LIFE IS ALL ABOUT. WE ARE SUPPOSE TO BE LEARNING ABOUT THE JOURNEY AND WHAT IT TAKES NOT ONLY TO GET THERE BUT TO STAY THERE. SO I SAY, LET'S NOT GIVE IN. IF YOU CAN'T GET OUTSIDE FOR THE WEATHER JUST GET UP AND MOVE. MOVE THROUGH THE HOUSE, MOVE IN A ROOM. JUST MOVE. LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO WASTE IT WONDERING IF YOU WILL GET THERE. WHY NOT JUST HEAD THERE.

TODAY IS A NEW DAY, AND I AM GOING TO GET THERE FROM HERE. ONE DAY AT A TIME.

    Michelle,
Did you read my mind? This could have been written by me! I was telling my DH yesterday I know I am whining, but it is just so HARD sometimes. I have been stressed all week because we were supposed to go weigh in today. But the clinic called and canceled. I was so happy, but that means Monday we go weigh in so I'll stress on Sunday. LOL

Hang in there you are doing great!

Those who truly work out and watch what they eat and still don't lose weight, perhaps due to a medical condition, are still more fit than when they started. This is what they don't seem to grasp. Good for you having a can-do attitude and sticking with it. -- Lou

Good for you! It's frosty outside my window too! 34 degrees, brrrrrrr! I hate it! But it's going to be cold whether I exercise or not...so, I'll go for it too! Yup, one day at a time, one pound at a time!

Do what you have to do to get it done! Even if you just have to walk in place or dance. Keep up the good work!

Quick blog

Wednesday, February 17, 2010

I just wanted to leave a quick note to say hello. I'm holding my own so far this week. The weather here is chilly and i'm really wanting to head outside and run. maybe this weekend as it is suppose to warm up.

work is tough, I am a certified pharmacy tech for walmart and we are in the middle of a remodel. we had to pull down drugs, move them and then put up new shelving and put the drugs back when the work crew was fininshed. I haven't counted that work yet on my tracker and don't plan on it. I'm calling it my freebee for the week. I so hope it helps me over the next half pound mark this week.

so, i'm ready for this new day. I'm trying to track each and everything i eat and so far i'm on track. i keep a journal as sometimes sparking it is too much for me. writing it i keep up. so till next time. let's take this journey one minute, day, and week at a time.

p.s i'm one of the seven team mates left on the "alabama challenge team weigh ins". This is a challenge for weight loss since Jan. 1st. woohoo to the seven of us left. I only hope i can work beside you for a bit longer. good luck to us in the coming weeks. we are going to get there from here.

I know the tracker is frustrating for me. I really am proud of the remaining seven who are still in it. I know you are all working very hard. Good luck on the challenge.

Valentines weigh in

Sunday, February 14, 2010

well guys I can't explain it. This week has been tough, I used all my ww points and then some, it was my pms week and I step on the scales this morning with the "ok, this is not going to be good" attitude and guess what? I'm down a half pound. emoticon. The only thing i can figure is that i kept up with my exercise, and my water and got in veggies and fruits. I have to give credit to the exercise. So if you are having a moment or two like me this past week, just like spark says just pick ;up where you left off and you will still come out a winner.

So this is my valentines gift to me. This is my new week with new goals. I even took spark up on one of its articles and got me some little gold stars. I plan on using them in my journal to show me my progress for this week. I will continue this little "game" until i'm where i need to be. Sort of a reward on a daily basis kinda thing.

Do you reward yourself? If so, how? I sometimes feel a little goes a long way. We need to feel good about ourselves or this little journey and lifestyle change just won't work. I was feeling sorry for myself this past week. But a few spark friends picked me up and sent me back on my way. I really was at the i want to quit stage, i say i was, but i couldn't. As my getting up and exercising daily showed. I'm in this for the long haul. Up or down, it is how i handle the setbacks that will get me where i'm going.

emoticon

If we were to turn around and go back home at every red light as we drive to work or the store or the gym, we'd never get anywhere and would never get anything accomplished. Take it one positive step at a time as you're doing and the results will come. -- Lou
