Down another .4

Sunday, January 17, 2010

emoticonThe verdict is in i'm down another .4 this week. I'll take it. That is about a half pound in english and one more step to getting closer to goal. So to all my spark friends, look at small moves on the scales the same as you would a giant leap. Each small step is just a move in the right direction, and heading in the right direction is where we all want to go.

Good for you. A loss is better than staying the same or gaining! Isn't it pathetic how easy it is to gain weight and how hard to lose? It just isn't fair! Keep on doing what you're doing...it's working!

Have attitude: will succeed

Attitude is Everything.
- Anonymous

The old addage attitude is everything is so true in our journey. If we come at this thing with attitude and head in the direction we are meant to go, shoot the battle is half won.l

I have attitude about a lot of things in my life. My children, my husband, my lord, and last on my list is me. I have always put myself last. Not this time around. I have taken the first steps to a new healthy lifestyle and i'm sitting in the drivers seat. No more doing for others and leaving nothing for Michelle. Now Michelle is takeing control and leaving all the nonesense behind.

My journey started out terrific, I had a buddy in this and we compared notes, weigh ins, exercises......well we all know what happened to that.....i'm still here and she...............well isn't. But I didn't let that stop me, nor did I give in. I kept trudging along. I still give her an update even if she really could care less, I care. I care about my progress and I want her to see that she could be back on this walk with me. But alas we can't force or push anyone to do what we want. So I just wait, I figure once I reach my goals on this journey she will get the lightbulb effect and wake up to what is really in her best interest.

Now I want you all to know I have been blessed on this journey, I have met new friends who do share my goals and attiude about getting healthy. I can tell my accomplishments, failures, and woohoo moments. I think that is one of the most beautiful things spark gives us, motivators.

So to my spark friends out there......thank you...While on this journey you need attitude you also needs friends to pick you up when you fall, and you will fall, friends to cheer for you, cry for you and pray for you.

So I will end this blog on this note: have attitude where health is concerned. No one can get us to our goals but us. So lets give it all weve got and then some.

Attitude can make you win or lose at this life changing event. You hit the nail on the head.

When we dance at Zumba, our Puerto Rican teacher will say, do this with attitude! I know exactly what she means. Strut your stuff...well, we all need to "Strut our stuff" for ourselves in our quest for healthy living!

What a great attitude to have. One friend may have fallen off the wagon, but you have lots of friends here to encourage you and celebrate with you. I'm glad you put yourself first. More of us need to do that.

GIVE ALL YOU HAVE

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

Play with life, laugh with life, dance lightly with life, and smile at the riddles of life, knowing that life’s only true lessons are writ small in the margin.
- Jonathan Lockwood Huie

Life is unpredictable and unknowable. Attempting to resist life leads to suffering. Yet, floating through life like a dead log also leads to a loss of all joy. For a meaningful and joyous life, gently guide the forces of life in the direction of your goals.

Visualize how the martial arts fighter uses the strength of his opponent against him. Use that principle in your encounter with life. Deflect the blows rather than allowing them to crush you.

ALRIGHT MY SPARK FRIENDS, LETS GIVE THIS JOURNEY ALL WEVE GOT. NO SLACKING, NO SAYING TOMORROW, NO NOT GETTING UP AND MOVING, AFTER ALL EXERCISE IS THE KEY.

I FOR ONE AND GIVING ALL I'VE GOT AND MORE. I HAVE A GOAL AND I WANT TO REACH IT THIS COMING YEAR. I GAVE MYSELF A SMALL RESOLUTION FOR THIS YEAR AND I AM GOING TO ACHIEVE IT. SO LETS GIVE THIS ALL WE HAVE PLUS AND MAKE THOSE CHANGES WE HAVE BEEN TELLING OURSELVES WE WANT. emoticon

All what we make of it

Sunday, January 10, 2010

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance.
- Anonymous

It really is all we make of it. I plan to make it all I can. I have days when i want to just lay down and sleep, but movement is what is needed so i move. I'm moving in the right direction. At least in my mind which is what counts.

Today is my official weigh in for the week. I hope i moved in the right direction this week where that is concerned. I did wonderful all week until yesterday, had a moment.....cheese puffs. But after the moment or two passed i was sick on my stomach, not from guilt from the food....funny how we change. I thought i wanted them, and i have to admit while i was eating they tasted ok, then it hit me, like a ton of bricks. The sick feeling. and then it was over. no more chips, no dinner, still wasn't feeling good after a couple of hours. Lesson learned: not into that anymore, tummy can't handle it. The sad truth is now that i felt like that i won't want them anymore. I guess it was for the best.

So i move forward....onto a new day, new goals and new ideas. so to all my spark friends i say....we can get there from here. It may just take a few extra steps but we have our whole new lives to get there. This isn't a contest on who can reach the goal line first. This is your life. Enjoy the scenery along the way. And as i have learned with the cheese puffs sometimes you can't go back which is great. For me that means i'm heading in the right direcdtion. god bless this sunday. michelle.

I too have changed the food likes. I actually eat fruit now - never really liked it before. Thanks for your quote and we are on this journey together, all of us. Keep moving forward!

    Michelle,
I am so glad you started your blog with that quote. Reading it was like opening a gift. I used to have that quote as my tag line on my emails! It is very true.

Thank you for reminding me what it is really all about. We all know it is about the journey we are taking and not just one day.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Cheese puffs! Yum. I used to love them. It is funny how your tastes change and how what you used to eat all the time, now makes you sick. It really puts in perspective how sick you were to start with.

Have a good one!!!

Motivation

Saturday, January 09, 2010

People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily.
- Zig Ziglar

Courage doesn't always roar.
Sometimes courage is the quiet voice
at the end of the day, saying,
"I will try again tomorrow."
- Mary Anne Radmacher

True courage is taking another small step each day toward achieving your vision.
- Jonathan Lockwood Huie

As I read these quotes this morning how thought of how they are spark quotes. lets take the steps needed to get us to the finish line and beyond. michelle. emoticon
