Christmas eve

Thursday, December 24, 2009

emoticonWell guys it is christmas eve yet again. It always amazes me how fast this time of year arrives. I'm very glad to say i'm not in it for the gifts. Both the giving or recieving. This year being what it is i'm glad more people have pared down to what is important. We really didn't need all the i wants, i needs, i gotta haves, this year. With so many being out of work and the debt issues with us as well as our government we really needed to step back and take a long look at where we were at. Sometimes i have this sinking feeling the lord had a hand in all this. He wants us to remember what it is like to want, wish, and dream. In this sea of credit we have forgotten what that is all about. My wish for this year was peace. Peace in my own life as well as the lives of others.

I want to wish all a very merry christmas, but let's not forget about the reason for the season. our lord and savior jesus christ. Oh to go back to the old days, with midnight mass, family gatherings, and such hope of a child we shut our eyes on christmas eve to wait for santa. The waking up to find he had come and that meant you had been good all year long. Or at least he thought so.

So as we settle in this evening for a nice winter nap, remember to say a prayer of thanks to our lord, thanks for the blessings, thanks for putting you to bed safe, thanks for the family, and most of all thainks for just being. michelle.

Words well spoken. We should all strive to keep Christ in Christmas. I wish more people could be so wise and there would not be as much stress The season is about joy and peace not stressing over what we do or don't give and/or get.
Thanks for the beautiful post.

Equipment for the new year

Wednesday, December 23, 2009

I'm gearing up for the new year. I have a challenge with my alabama team i'm so ready for. I really want this to be the year. Of course many of us want this to be the year, just like last year and the years before that. But for me i'm so close to my goals and i do feel this could be the year. Not just for my weight but my finances also. I'm finally getting a grip on things and once you have the hold on yourself the rest just falls into place.

I've been battling with myself and guilt about changeing churchs and i have prayed about it often. The lord has shown me that i don't belong in my church. First our pastor brought in a new co pastor, an evangelist, enougjh said. Sorry to those of you who worship this type of preacher but this isn't for me. and i knew the lord was showing me that i needed to get out and fast. Second my pastor came to get her prescrption from where i work and didn't even acknowledge that i was there. I had to say hello to here first. That was it. I decided my money was good with the lord no matter the church and one church could use it as well as another. Now don't get me wrong, i love giving to the lord, but when your pastor can't even show a bit of kindness, well enough said on that. I took this as another sign from the lord that i shouldn't be upset or worried about leaving that church because obviously she wasn't.

I also bought myself a new journal and water bottle for the new year. I'm ready now. I got a pretty journal and i can't wait to use it. I'm waiting till the next week so i can start my new challenge and be ready. the water bottle holds three cups of water and now i will be ready for the daily quota. Sometimes it is the little things in life that make us the most happy.

i want to wish all a very merry christmas in case things get too busy and i'm not able to get back to this blog. thank you spark for making this the best year for me and my health. i couldn't of done it without you and my new friends. michelle.

Congrats on your new frame of mind.
We recently changed churches, so I know what you are going thru. It can be hard. One of the deacon's wives at my old church can't be nice to anyone, but now that we are gone, she makes a point to be hateful to us when ever she sees us. Which is a lot since our kids go to the same school as her grandkids.
People just need to have love and compassion in their hearts.

    Merry Christmas to you too!

It sounds like you made the right decision regarding your church.

That's great about planning ahead and getting a journal and a water bottle.

choose love....

Sunday, December 20, 2009

Hatred paralyzes life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illumines it.
- Martin Luther King Jr.

Choose love. Choose to release all resentments. Forgive everyone. Choose to release all regrets. Forgive yourself for all decision that you have ever made that didn't work out as you hoped. Forgive yourself for any financial decisions that didn't meet your expectations. Release your regrets if you choose the "wrong" spouse or the "wrong" career. Today, choose love. Choose to love yourself. Choose to love your life. Choose to love all the friends, family, co-workers, acquaintances, and others who share your life.

As the new year approaches and on this day of our lord I wanted to share this with all. Have a blessed day and let's make this coming year the best it can be. After all the lord woke us up this morning and we need to thank him. emoticon

That is a really good sentiment. It is hard to forgive people. Especially when they really wronged us. But forgiving them doesn't make them less accountable, it simply releases us.
The hard thing to remember is Jesus said what ever you do unto the least of these, you do unto Me.
Do you forgive or harbor grudges?
That is tough to consider.
