emoticon emoticon emoticonI almost had to step back on the scales yesterday, I couldn't believe the numbers..... 140.4. I was down a pound. Me, over christmas, with candy, treats, and cake...I lost a pound. I have to say thank you spark for showing me the way. I do find that the temptations just aren't there like they once were. I guess once we stop and get the sugar, carbs, and such down to a minimum our bodies crave other things, like fruit, veggies, grains. At least mind does. I'm down to a diet soda a day. My water is way up and i love to eat the good stuff over the bad. The other night i grabbed the bag of chips, my go to snack, and I had to put them in the trash, literally, they were so nasty. The grease was just too much.

As any of us who have been here for a bit know, change is great, exercise is awesome, and eating healthy is the way. Afterall we are all here for a new lifestyle. I mean let's face it if the old was working we wouldn't be here. So good luck to my friends both old and new in the coming new year. We can make a difference in ourselvesl as well as others.

let's give a pat on the back, a kind word, a boot in the hind end, what ever is needed by someone at any given point. You may be the difference between them staying or giving up. I for one am staying. I love spark, and the friends i've made along the way are in a word...AWESOME.

Blessings

Sunday, December 27, 2009

Never let frustration or disappointment tarnish your appreciation for all that is good in life. Every day say Thank You to the source of all that is good.

When life isn't going the way we feel it should and we get a bit upset, STOP, we need to take a moment and appreciate what we have been given, not what we don't have.

Have a blessed sunday my friends, this is the day the lord has made, and he woke you up this morning. Give him the glory. Don't fret about the not haves, be blessed with the haves right now. emoticon

Bring on 2010

Saturday, December 26, 2009

emoticonI'm so ready for this new year to begin. I'm so ready I think i won't wait. I'm going to begin now. Today is as good a time as any to get it back together. I have so many goals for this year....First to finally settle in a new church, the lord is in the lead on this, second to reach my goal weight. my sparkaversary is dec. 31st and I made it half way this year, so the coming i would love to make it all the way, and third and finally to get myself in order on the financial front. we ended the year on a positive note and that says alot for the coming year. I have set these goals for myself and as they aren't too out of reach i hope to attain them. I"m not setting limits, when they happen they will happen and what ones don't will be there next year and the year after that. I have a lifetime to figure things out.

I'm going to close with a great big thank-you to spark and my friends for a wonderful year. without this site i don't know how far i would of gotten or how i would be feeling right now. but i'm geared up, fired up and ready for what the universe has to offer in 2010. So what are your plans? Do you want to see something wonderful in the coming year? You can dream the stars and work your way down from there. god bless.

Christmas eve

Thursday, December 24, 2009

emoticonWell guys it is christmas eve yet again. It always amazes me how fast this time of year arrives. I'm very glad to say i'm not in it for the gifts. Both the giving or recieving. This year being what it is i'm glad more people have pared down to what is important. We really didn't need all the i wants, i needs, i gotta haves, this year. With so many being out of work and the debt issues with us as well as our government we really needed to step back and take a long look at where we were at. Sometimes i have this sinking feeling the lord had a hand in all this. He wants us to remember what it is like to want, wish, and dream. In this sea of credit we have forgotten what that is all about. My wish for this year was peace. Peace in my own life as well as the lives of others.

I want to wish all a very merry christmas, but let's not forget about the reason for the season. our lord and savior jesus christ. Oh to go back to the old days, with midnight mass, family gatherings, and such hope of a child we shut our eyes on christmas eve to wait for santa. The waking up to find he had come and that meant you had been good all year long. Or at least he thought so.

So as we settle in this evening for a nice winter nap, remember to say a prayer of thanks to our lord, thanks for the blessings, thanks for putting you to bed safe, thanks for the family, and most of all thainks for just being. michelle.

Words well spoken. We should all strive to keep Christ in Christmas. I wish more people could be so wise and there would not be as much stress The season is about joy and peace not stressing over what we do or don't give and/or get.
Thanks for the beautiful post.
