Pizza? Really????

Monday, August 05, 2013

SparkPeople's marketing coordinator Sarah says:
Living a healthy lifestyle is about moderation, not deprivation!

Yesterday after swimming in the pool for a bit my hubby says "hey you want to go to pizza hut for dinner?" I already had food out for our dinner but heck we never go out...so we invited my daughter, son in law, and grandson and off we went. We rode the motorcycle and my daughter followed in her car...they live just next door...anyways when we got there I had it already planned what I could have and still stay under my daily points. So what did I do???? I did what I planned. emoticon and emoticon emoticon

See you can have pizza on a healthy lifestyle you just have to plan for it. Yeah I had planned another meal altogether, which we will have tonight, but I knew what I could eat before I sat down and that is what I did and stuck to it. Now I have pizza left for sure but what will I do with that you may wonder? Freeze it of course for a later fix.

This goes for your food choices as well. I'm not saying eat Pizza daily but every once in a while a healthy lifestyle does allow for real life to happen. We just have to be ready to take on real life and enjoy the moment. This moment for me was dinner with family not the food involved. It was the memories and the laughs.

#Backontrack: First weigh in

Sunday, August 04, 2013

Day four and i'm down 1 pound this week. Not significant to some but amazing to someone like me who has gained all back plus and then was having trouble getting on track once again.

I for one am embracing my monthly challenge to lose five pounds.

Last chance day or is it?

Saturday, August 03, 2013

Coach Nancy says:
If you never try, you will never know what you can accomplish.

Failure cannot and will not overtake you, if your determination to succeed is strong enough!

Last chance day is the day before weigh in. My last chance to earn spark points, eat better, drink more water, move more. I always call the day before weigh in last chance because of the show "The Biggest loser" but really it is so very true. If you have maybe slipped up a day or two, or you may have not gotten in quite the amount of movement you would of liked this past week, well your last chance day is just the right time to play catch up with your routine.

For me it is the time to get it all together. Look over my week, plan for the next week, and wait in anticipation or in dreaded nervousness for the moment of truth. The moment I step on those scales and some of my hard work or not will stare back at me. In truth the scales don't show all the hard work you put in over the course of your week, sometimes they lack in that area, but still it is a moment to gather yourself up and prepare for the coming week. After all this journey is what you make of it.

This is what last chance day really means to me.

#Backontrack: 31 day challenge

Friday, August 02, 2013

You've got to get up every morning with determination if you're going to go to bed with satisfaction!

Denise

Spark has put out this new challenge and I thought "hey i'm looking for something more after my 21 days habit challenge so I took them up on it.

I may not get there in one month but i'm sure going to be on my way. So as I begin day two i'm feeling like maybe just maybe August is going to be the month to turn it all around.

Why not NOW

Tuesday, July 30, 2013

SparkPeople community moderator Denise says:
"Tomorrow" starts today!

All we have is NOW, this moment to make it right. Fix a wrong, move forward. Sure you could just throw in the towel as I've wanted to do more times than I can count....but what good would that do? You wouldn't be here, you wouldn't be making more healthy choices than bad, you wouldn't be able to smile most days and you sure wouldn't be on your way to the new you.

Remember this the next time you step on those pesky scales and they don't say what you had hoped for. You did all you could do now you have been given a new day to do all you can. So pick yourself up dust off that butt and get in gear. Nobody is going to push you but YOU so why not NOW?
