Last chance day or is it?

Last chance day is the day before weigh in. My last chance to earn spark points, eat better, drink more water, move more. I always call the day before weigh in last chance because of the show "The Biggest loser" but really it is so very true. If you have maybe slipped up a day or two, or you may have not gotten in quite the amount of movement you would of liked this past week, well your last chance day is just the right time to play catch up with your routine.

For me it is the time to get it all together. Look over my week, plan for the next week, and wait in anticipation or in dreaded nervousness for the moment of truth. The moment I step on those scales and some of my hard work or not will stare back at me. In truth the scales don't show all the hard work you put in over the course of your week, sometimes they lack in that area, but still it is a moment to gather yourself up and prepare for the coming week. After all this journey is what you make of it.

This is what last chance day really means to me.

#Backontrack: 31 day challenge

Spark has put out this new challenge and I thought "hey i'm looking for something more after my 21 days habit challenge so I took them up on it.

I may not get there in one month but i'm sure going to be on my way. So as I begin day two i'm feeling like maybe just maybe August is going to be the month to turn it all around.

All we have is NOW, this moment to make it right. Fix a wrong, move forward. Sure you could just throw in the towel as I've wanted to do more times than I can count....but what good would that do? You wouldn't be here, you wouldn't be making more healthy choices than bad, you wouldn't be able to smile most days and you sure wouldn't be on your way to the new you.

Remember this the next time you step on those pesky scales and they don't say what you had hoped for. You did all you could do now you have been given a new day to do all you can. So pick yourself up dust off that butt and get in gear. Nobody is going to push you but YOU so why not NOW?

Yesterday I was so upset over the scales and what they had the say that I was ready to throw in the towel. I mean this has been ongoing for a while now and really it is getting old. But instead I got on my stationary bike and rode for 30 minutes (it was raining at that time), Then I had a healthy breakfast and began my day. Later my daughter and I headed out and got in a 3 mile walk. I then came home and cleaned up and had a healthy dinner. I finished the day under my calories. I know not good but really I had drank so much water yesterday there was no way I could get that last 100 calories in.

So the moral of my story........I decided to take on myself and in that I took on the little monster that has been ruling my weigh ins. No more. I have to begin somewhere and that somewhere is here and now. I took a moment yesterday evening and I read some old journal entries......I was shocked. I had been one pound from goal and as I read I saw where I just kinda gave up and the weigh ins got worse and worse. the saddest part.....most of it was this past winter. So what to do about that? Well dust my butt off and get back to that place.

    Hey Michelle. I love your blog because I can relate to it. I was going through the same thing. Although I would read on here people losing 2,3 lbs. a week or that they had lost 100 of lbs. I was happy for them ,but I let it discourage me because I am a slow losser. I only lost 16 in 10 months and I should of been happy with that, my sugars and cholesterol was down,but I got away from from I was doing and I knew my numbers would be up. When I went to the doctor they were. I told her I had got off track and she said I know you will get back on track,then instead of her being mad at me ,she said Carol I am so proud of you, you have lost 7 lbs in 5 months, that is so great. To me this was a small amount to her it was great. She gave me new inspiration. I am still getting on track and I changed my goal to health first and the weight loss will come. Now I read blogs for inspiration and truly am happy for the weigh people lose, I know now I can too, It is just going to take longer. Thanks for your blog. Have a happy healthy day

Well of course today was my weigh in day. I'm up yet again. I was down four last week and i'm up almost two this week. Why?????? that is the question i'm asking. Why? Why bother, why try, why go without? I mean each week is the same crap just a new day.

Well I've been here a bit and i'm telling you I don't much like it. So what to do? Well get moving of course. Get planning, get moving, get ready for the changes. Yup I've been here done this so many times. Kinda makes me wonder if this week will be any different than the others.

I took my monthly measurements and i'm down 3.5 inchs. So change is happening just not on the scales so much. I read a blog about the healthy lifestyle living and not worrying about weight. Well maybe that is what I need to do. Stop worrying about the numbers and start living. I just don't know at this point. I want to throw in the towel but then I see my two buddies losing and I want to do it like them. But each week is the same crap. I just don't know anymore.

I really just want to emoticon Who am I kidding this isn't working for me.

    Try not to think of the numbers on the scales. I did that and all they did was make me frustrated all the time. I wanted more! Look at how far you've come. Stay focused on your Goal if you have one, and if you don't make one even if it's a small one. For example : My goal is to lose 10 lbs so I can buy myself a pair of dress boots, and a nice outfit. I want to look hot when I shop for groceries, or walk in the Mall. I know you CAN DO IT! I don't know you , but I feel strongly that you're a "GO GETTER! Think of how much you would like to lose in a week and find the motivation to get there. Eat your healthy foods, journal, get your oil in and you'll find a weight loss soon. Think Positive... I Believe in you!

    I know how frustrating that scale can be Michelle, but look at what you have already done....over 21 days being on plan. We are women so many things that don't even make sense or we even consider can make that scale move upward. The other day I read that humidity can make you weight more....well you do live in the South. Hang in there, you are feeling better, you are losing inches. No bag of potato chips will make you feel that good.

    As long as you're still in a hormonal phase of life, your weight is going to fluctuate like this. So you just keep going. And if weekly weigh-ins are too tough for you, monthly weigh-ins are an option. Plan them on the week when you know you are going to be your lowest ... when your hormones are cooperating with you. Make the scale work with you, make it be a tool that is for your benefit. Obviously the tape measure already is. And shouting a BIG emoticon for THAT victory!!!

    One of the first things you hear when you go to AA is that "your best thinking got you here". And "Don't drink, go to meetings, and change your whole life". And "your intuition about everything is wrong". The common paraphrase of the first 3 steps of the 12 Step Program is "I have a problem, I can't do this my way, I think I'll listen to others".
