Gone but not don...

Friday, February 15, 2013

Hey everyone. Hope you all are doing well. So I have been MIA from SP for a few weeks. But rest assured, I have NOT fallen off the wagon. I have just shifted websites and focus. I have started using bodybuilding.com, where they have some great FREE workout plans you can follow. I also entered a body transformation contest on there and I am praying that I win. But even if I don't at least I'll be healthier!

I have also started Dr. Ian Smith's SHRED. Today is week 1 day 7 and I weigh in tomorrow. It's hard to say if I 'feel' like I've lost anything because it's that time of the month and I usually don't lose much weight during those weeks. But we shall see. I may log back on tomorrow to post my weight loss.

Oh and I got my Sparkpeople Cardio Blast dvd that I won a few weeks ago from one of my spins!! Woohoo! Lol.... Not sure when I'll even use it but I have it!

Hope you all were good yesterday on Valentine's day.... And if you cheated that's ok too. Just as long as you didn't overdo it! Anyway, TGIF and hope you all, have a fabulous weekend!!!

Determined...

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

When I am on the wagon, I am really on it. I look at all my fitness mags and buy more sometimes. But this time it feels a little different. I am almost obsessed with this (fitness/losing weight) but in a good way. I blogged about bodybuilding last week or so and have been thinking about it more lately for whatever reason. I also mentioned how my dad, when I was just a teen, said I should compete. (I was also in the best shape of my life back then because I was on the track team!!) But that thought is in my head. I still don't know if I would actually compete but I won't say never!!! except to say that "you never know!" It may happen one day. But right now I am really trying to get to that kind of shape. To where, maybe one day I COULD compete in women's fitness. Again, I do NOT want to beef up, that's just unattractive. I just want the sexy, feminine muscles, bikini body. I am doing really good with my eating and especially my workouts. Jamie Eason's LiveFit plan is GREAT so far. If you're interested it's at www.bodybuilding.com and Jamie is by no means beefed up like a dude. LOL She looks great, as do the other women on that site.

Anyway, just saying that I am feeling really good about this effort this time. I lost the weight before, (got as far as 9 lbs away from my ultimate goal!!... but then life got in the way and yadda yadda yadda!!!) I know I can do it again, this time even better.

Have a great day fellow Sparkers!!!

Week 3 of Jamie Eason...

Monday, January 28, 2013

Hey everyone!! For anyone who knows of Jamie Eason, either from bodybuilding.com or numerous fitness magazines..... I've been following her LiveFit plan and today started week 3 of phase 1. Well, halfway following it, last week I did what I remembered but didn't follow the plan exactly but wasn't too far off. But today was pretty good. I'm anxious to see what the results will be.

Trying to find a fat burner that's not too unnatural. I have green coffee bean extract but have only been using it for a week. I've lost a few lbs but I'm pretty sure that's more due to the workouts and eating. I am hesitant to try other stuff like Hydroxycut and Lean Out and stuff like that. I know ephedra has been banned but still.... just don't want to end up in the ER. Maybe I should just stick to the green tea and green coffee extract.

Anyway, hope you all are starting your week off great!!!

It's FRiiiiDAY!

Friday, January 25, 2013

Hey everyone. It's Friday and I'm so glad. And I don't even work but still, TGIF!!! LOL Today was a GREAT day at the gym, in fact I think it was the best workout all week!!! I did legs again, even though they are still sore from Wednesday's leg workout. But I didn't even feel the soreness while working out. I wonder why that is!!?? Then I did about 40 or so minutes on the treadmill (3+ miles) doing intervals of walking and jogging. I think... no I KNOW I sweat more today than the other days this week. The more sweat the better!! ;o)

Came home, showered and then had my vanilla protein whey shake. Almost time to have something else to eat. Two weeks in and I am feeling great!! One more week and then it'll be a habit, right?? 21 days to form a habit!!! LOL So I FEEL like I am all in this time. I HAVE to be!! As long as I keep telling myself that and BELIEVING it, BELIEVING that I CAN do this all the way, I'll be ok. And that goes for al of you too!!!

Stay warm people, it's a cold one today and I am in GEORGIA!!! It's literally freezing here. only 31 degrees!! (32 is freezing, right??) And feels like 24 with the wind chill factor!!!! SHEESH!!!!

STAY WARM and TGIF!!!!

The Lady at the Gym...

Thursday, January 24, 2013

This morning while at the gym I saw this lady there that I have seen just about everyday since I got back on track. This lady is not the typical gym-goer. She is older and walks with a walker, the kind on wheels. When I see her walking, she is hunched over to reach and push her walker. I don't know if she hunches over to adjust to the walker or if the walker was adjusted to her being hunched over all the time, like she is unable to stand up straight.

But anyway, I have to say that I am impressed by this woman. I don't ever watch her work out because we are usually in different sections of the gym. But just the fact that she is THERE, walker and all, is impressive. She is the kind of woman you see that makes people say, "now if SHE can do this, surely I can do this!!" There is no excuse for any healthy, able bodied person to lay on their butt and be lazy, if someone using a walker, possibly with a bad back, can get up and go to the gym everyday to be healthy!!!

Just wanted to share this little thought with you all. Think about it (and I'm telling myslef this as well)... the next time you wanna be lazy and not get your workout in.

Have a great day!!!!

Older people can be very inspiring. I have seen my Mom go from in a wheelchair to back to normal inside of six months and 18 months after with this last bit of physical therapy she is noticably improved in her ability to stand straight and walk stronger. Her plan is to continue going to the gym in the PT building. She has had a upper resp. virus that set her back a few weeks but I am going to keep encouraging her.
