I discovered a new ingredient that I just love. Wehatberry is a grain that is used to make flour. You can cook it and throw it in salads and soups. I like it in a salad because you can taste the grainy flavors in it.
Here is what I made last night:

It was delicious to say the least. emoticon

I just used the veggies that I like. And made a simple salad dressing with vinegar, olive oil, cumin, salt & pepper. I think it would work any way you like it.

Yuuummmm, that looks so good. Did you use a recipe or just throw in whatever you had on hand that evening?

Good for you for seeking out and trying new foods.

Hey, that looks good! I love wheatberries and their cousin farro. Chewy and delicious. Wheatberries make a great breakfast cereal too. Put them in a crockpot on low the night before and you wake up to a warm, delicious and filling breakfast what could be better?

Just hanging in there

Friday, May 13, 2011

Hi All,
It's been a crazy week. I've done good with my eating and I was able to get 2 runs in this week. I lost another pound! Last weekend I had a little too much wine and food, but for some reason I don't feel guilty about it. This is the way I look at it: I work hard all week long, try to spend quality time with my baby and get my workouts in. It's hard but doable. When the weekend rolls by I like to relax, and there is nothing better than some good wine and a good book. Yes, it stalls my weight loss, but it's not something I am willing to give up. And knowing that I don't do that every weekend it can't be that bad then. Its the quality of life that I need to preserve. That's my story and I am sticking to it emoticon

Have a great weekend!

I hope you have a wonderful and relaxing weekend. There is a certain quality of life that each of us has and to a point we need to maintain some of that to stay on track.

Shred Day1

Thursday, April 28, 2011

Well, I completed the first day of the 30 Day Shred workout. It was not as difficult as I remember it but I struggled through the push-ups! That's my weakness. I've noticed that I need to use different weights for different exercises. So I will try that next time and hopefully will get a better burn. I am planning on sticking with the first level at least a few more times until I am getting through the push-ups easily and then on to the 2nd level.
I will use this Blog to keep me accountable...surely I can commit 20 minutes a day for this workout!

It's my anniversary weekend :)

Friday, April 22, 2011

This is my 2nd wedding anniversary weekend. I am really excited since I get to wear a cute dress, have my hair done and go out to a romantic dinner. And to top it all off, I woke up with another 2 lb loss!! So, needless to say, I am having a pretty good morning.
This week was challenging. I've struggled with getting my workout out in. But I've stayed within my calorie goals all week. It's really not that hard since I am allowed to get 1800 calories per day. If I was eating 1200 I would most likley gone off track by now. So, it is a learning process.
Plan for the weekend is to go running tonight and in the morning. And take Sunday off.
Let's hope I stay true to my goals :)
Have a great weekend!

Just Do it!

Monday, April 18, 2011

Well it's Monday. I have started my weightloss journey a month ago, and I have lost 15 lbs. Really good start! I need to keep working hard. My biggest roadblock is that when I get home from work, I'd rather spend time with my little baby than working out. I am going to try working out at 8 tonight after he goes to bed. We'll see how that goes....

What great progress you have made in your first month.

Keep it up. Don't be afraid to rethink things and make adjustments to what works best for you and your journey. Life is not a one size fits all kind of thing.

Myself, I am trying to learn to exercise first thing....LOL... and darlin' I am not a morning person...LOL.... or even before first thing. If I exercise too late I can't fall asleep for hours.

Go for it!

Congratulations, MAJA124MOXIE, for your efforts to this point. Remember that the exercise can be done in ten minute segments. And don't forget to track your nutrition and water too. Keeping track of everything makes this work for you. You have set the goal and you have made the committment to work for it. This will all come together for you and work. Just do it! It is for you. And your well being.
