Losing with the Snoozing!

Thursday, August 23, 2012

While I get that I have not been with SP and my new lifestyle for long (only going into my 3rd week) I must say, I am losing with the snoozing! I made 3 personal goals for myself: 1: Eat a healthy breakfast - check!; 2: Stretch for 5 minutes a day - check!; 3: Wake up without hitting the snooze button - fail!
I don't feel like I am totally letting myself down on this one as I do get up earlier than I had been, but I must admit that I am not waking up with that first alarm. I guess 2 out of 3 ain't all that bad though, right? I also joined a goal to drink at least 8 cups of water a day and I have stuck with that one as well as my other two personal goals.
All in all, I am living a lot healthier and doing more than just dreaming about what it could be like if I were to live healthier; and in the end that is what counts*

You're doing great, I also hit the snooze button too many morning but it's better than it was before. Keep working on it, you'll get there. I like Rbetyourass' idea of rewarding yourself for not hitting it; I think I'm going to try that one.
Keep up the great work!

I don't think you can beat yourself up too much for that one. I know that I"m guilty of hitting the snooze button one too many times myself. Let's just hope you've got someone in that bed who doesn't want you to leave....

I'm a snoozaholic myself! For some reason I've been really good so far at never pressing it thank heavens. It takes practice and for me a reward. If I pressed snooze I couldn't have my morning cup of coffee on the way to work. And believe me I can't deal without it so I know not do press it!
Look at it this way, at least you have something still to work on since you are doing a great job at everything else!
Keep pressing on but not literally! HAHA

haha I know!!!! I don't get why when I am allowed to sleep in I don't but when I have to be up all I want to do it snooze! I do wake up earlier than I had been, so I take that as a semi win but still a little disappointed. However, being that I am doing so well with everything else I won't get too down on myself. As they say, "Can't win them all"

Say what you mean and mean what you say!

This blog isn't so much about my weight loss, but just about the new and improved me.
At the beginning of this year I told myself that I was going to work hard to pay off the nagging debt I built up over the years and had been struggling with. I told myself that this meant any extra money I got would NOT go to shopping or partying, it would go to my past expenses which I had been slightly ignoring for so long. I sat down and made a schedule for myself, hoping that I would be able to stay on track with it. I calculated that by the beginning of 2013 I would be down to my final payments.
Today, only 8 months into this year, I have surpassed my payment schedule and made my last and final payment on my debt that I have had for the past 6 years! I can hardly believe that not only did I stay on track with my payments, but that I was able to do it in about half the time I expected to do it. I must say, this really does show me that anything is possible and with the success and energy I am finding here on SP during my first week, I feel like I can do anything.
Reaching for the stars one goal at a time *

You give yourself a big pat on the back. You have done what so many people haven't been able to do and that is to be self disciplined enough to be financially independent. Magstar, you can do anything you want to and be anyone you want to be.

Finally finding the energy!

Tuesday, August 14, 2012

I must say, I am pretty excited about this new journey I am about to start. This isn't about just losing and maintaining my weight, this is about a healthier lifestyle. I am the type of person that, for the most part, am pretty healthy to begin with. I enjoy salads and veggies and fruits and do often go to the gym. My problem is that I do stray and get fried this and fatty that accompanied by junk food and then just don't feel like going to the gym, so my weight has been up and down. Lately, I noticed that with the summer and the heat, I just can't find the energy to do anything besides stay inside and keep cool with the AC and cuddle with my dog on the couch while watching TV. I mean, I am active, but in the sense that I am going to meet friends at a bar to see a band or BBQ in someones back yard.
I have only been on here for one week and yes, maybe I am getting a little ahead of myself, but just from making sure I meet my daily goals and keeping within my nutrition limits, I find that I am full of more energy and just more excited and pumped for each day. I use taking my dog for his walk as a way to get in extra cardio and am now taking him on longer walks at faster speeds. (I know he must really be enjoying my new journey too!) I know that each day resets my goals from the previous and that I want to do a better job today than yesterday. I am competing with myself. Now the question is, which me will win?
Here is to reaching for the stars! ***

It's great that you have such a positive attitude! I realized the same thing about having more energy after eating nutritious foods and staying within your calorie limits. I also found that I am not hungry between meals and I'm not snacking in the evenings anymore. Keep that positive attitude and you will make it to your goal.

It is awesome when things start to fall into place and like you I find the tracking of food and exercise has made a world of difference in my mindset. I'm so happy you've had such success already and can't wait to see what future success you have.
Keep up the great positive attitude.
