1 of 365 - A New Me

I have decided to blog every day for 2013 & if I miss a day then I will post 2 of 1 day (like I will today)
I have decided that 2013 is the year that I get fit. No more half stepping - this time its no more excuses.

The first step for me to achieve this goal was to join the WIN SOME LOSE SOME CHALLENGE @ the local Gold's Gym; its a Biggest Loser Contest. I have rode my bike to the gym in the rain. I have not (thanks b to God) missed any of the wsls classes (I have to do 3 classes a week). I have also taken extra classes & gym time.
I also am using the 90 day walk challenge from wsls along w the 90 day exercise challenge from wsls. The walking isn't everyday & I do it as soon as La gets on her school bus. The walking also changes up to help challenge me. The exercise is basic & I was kind of already doing it; 3 day of strength training each day a different focus & 3 day os some type of aerobic exercise.

The one thing that I really have to work on is my eating habits. I have been working on eating something every 3 hrs; now to work on it being something healthy & not high in calories or fat. Not to mention that I have to figure out the calorie thing. Everything that I read says to do 1200 to 1400 calories a day to lose weight but sparks gives me about 1600 to 2000 a day. So until I figure this out I will be going back & forth. Like trying both ways @ one time (makes sense to me).
Hubby is helping me to focus when I am @ home. He is also bringing less snacks into the home and he makes sure that there is always a type of snack for me in the house.

I also have to work on figuring out the difference btween the calories that the spark says I should burn on a machine & what the machine says I m burning - I know that part of it is that the machines r for no weight setting & sparks calculates using my weight

    Wow! You sound determined! That is great and will carry you a long way. I'm finding that the calorie amount should be consistent most of the time, so I think you should stay right around the 1600 mark for a while and see what that does. You will be able to tell if it is working or not and if once in a while you go over a little or under a little, that is ok. Then when you find what works well for you and you are losing, you might hit a plateau and then you will adjust it again. Keep on with the positive attitude and remember if you're not perfect every day, don't get too upset, just start again with a great start on the next day. Best wishes!!!

    You're doing great! What I've done with the difference in burning calories on the machines vs what Spark says I've burned..I always took the lower of the two. I know..somehow that just doesn't seem right, but if you really burn the higher amount look how much farther ahead you are! :) Keep up the great work! HUGS!

Missed a Cpl of Days

missed a cpl days of blogging as I was just so tired I slept most of the day

I m still feeling drained but I went to the gym did 30 mins of zumba n then a 55 min wsls workout; not to mention the 20 min bike ride their then the 20 min ride home

@ first I thought I was drained from all the working out u know my body getting used to it but hubby is also feeling run down so thinking mayb it not just about the workouts

well thats all for now gonna lay back down its funny I never sleep thru the night yet now I m sleeping thru the night n thru the day emoticon

I pray everyone had a Blessful CHRISTmas

mine was peaceful & I got to talk to my kids n their kids back in Jersey

I did my walk & strentgh training today NOT gonna let holidays get in the way of my healthy lifestyle - now its time to rest as I have a walk scheduled in the morning then a 9:30 work out @ the gym

kind of weird for me - not with my kids - not with my church

its been really relaxed from what I'm used to - I LIKE IT

@ 1 point this evening I did feel guilty cause I wasn't in church but then I realized Y
this year La actually learned more about the true meaning of Christmas n I have to except the fact that in the past I did put wat I felt were my obligation to the church b4 home

when I do find a church down here I must always remember that church isnt God - so church isnt a priority my relationship with God & my little family is

its really nice to focus on my little family just the 4 of us me - hubby - La & grumpy

You are right, you don't have to go to church to believe.
