Well since challenging myself to eat minimum or 3 fruit/veggies has worked for me. Starting Sunday I am going to challenge myself again. On Sunday I will start commenting on 1 blog from each of my teams. I find that I can learn through them and also get support just by knowing that someone else shared 1 of my struggles that day.
Not to mention how much I enjoy reading the comments that ppl leave on my blogs.
As I improve on myself and meet my challenges to the point that they become 2nd nature then I plan to start adding another challenge.

    I have gotten overwhelmed with blogs too. So instead I regularly visit those who comment on my blog too, or leave me page comments, or goodies or mail..or just stick to those with common or shared issues as I. I have the social community team to comment on a new members blog too, but I dont always subscribe to them...so its nice to have a few back ups for friends and team members. I guess I have about 30 subscriptions but only hit about 6 a day due to many not blogging daily or even by weekly.
I find Blogs one of the most helpful resources now a days. When they were first created I was resistent towards them because I thought they would take away from the message boards, for me I was right but Im greatful for it because now I can be more focused and less distracted.

TEAMS

I've downsized my teams, and I'm looking for a new one. I'm looking for a team that isnt too big, is a very supportive and has challenges that are focused. I love my teams but as much as I enjoyed the socalizing , I was spending more time palying on the comp then doing activites I love the New Year, New You team. I need some focus.
Here's a little about me. I do alot of walking, I suffer from depression, I take care of my disabled father full time, volunteer @ a Christian school, work at an after school program 2 days a week, I do a jr high youth group at my church. @ my heaviest I 303 lbs I m now down to 242 lbs. I m renewing my wedding vows in Oct for my 10 anniversary. I also have 3 grown children. I m a grandmother of 2 1/2 girls n I had my eldest grandchild from birth to 3 1/2 yrs.

    Yeah, I had to downsize my teams too. It was getting too much to try and stay involved with all of them. I don't really have any suggestions at the moment for good teams with goals/challenges...but if you go to the SparkTeam homepage - there is a group called "member-created challenges" You might find some good teams to join that have specific challenges to help keep you motivated.     Im in the biggest loser team and the new you bootcamp...and lately I have felt a bit overwhelmed and as if Im about to lose my focus and direction.
I always spend too much time on the computer but I have the time.
I really get bummed out when my teams dont have enough input or inspiration or support or encouragement for me. I hate big teams because they are too active. I am doing the bootcamp for me and not spending too much time attempting to answer questions there at all.
On the other hand I hate too small of teams with no activity because when I do post...the crickets come out. LOL or I get bored with the same old people rehashing their same old issues. (guilty of that too so ..)

The Importance of Walking

Walking can add minutes to your life.
This enables you at 85 years old
to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing
home at $7000 per month.

My grandpa started walking
five miles a day when he was 60.
Now he's 97 years old
and we don't know where he is.

I like long walks,
especially when they are taken
by people who annoy me.

The only reason I would take up walking
is so that I could hear heavy breathing again.

I have to walk early in the morning,
before my brain figures out what I'm doing..

I joined a health club last year,
spent about 400 bucks.
Haven't lost a pound.
Apparently you have to go there..

Every time I hear the dirty word 'exercise',
I wash my mouth out with chocolate.

I do have flabby thighs,
but fortunately my stomach covers them.

The advantage of exercising every day
is so when you die, they'll say,
'Well, she looks good doesn't she.'

If you are going to try cross-country skiing,
start with a small country.

I know I got a lot of exercise
the last few years,......
just getting over the hill.

We all get heavier as we get older,
because there's a lot more information in our heads.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

AND

Every time I start thinking too much
about how I look,
I just find a Happy Hour
and by the time I leave,
I look just fine.

You could run this over to your friends
But just e-mail it to them!

  


Trouble Goal

Getting my 8 glasses of water is easy as anything for me & alot of times I get extra. But my veggies, as much as I love them I don't seem to get them in regularly.

Then I feel guilty that I don't always eat them. It's like I forget that I'm suppose to eat them except when I prepare my meals ahead of time. So I've decided to challenge myself to eat 3 a day, Fruits - veggies whatever.

I need to plan my menu ahead - when I was doing that I was eating a little better. So now even if I'm not having the best meal like my mcskillets (yea I know I need to leave them alone) I will eat a fruit with it.

I'm also going to start buying yogurt again that is a great way to eat fruit.

So I officially challenge myself to eat 3 fruits/veggies a day for an entire month!

    I got into the habit of buying groceries ONLY based on my meal plans for the whole week.
OK I didnt set aside stuff from breakfast each day but a few choices between eggos, cereals, pancakes, yogurt...etc that I could choose from each day with a bit of variety.
Lunch is basically left over dinners.
But I would PLAN out my dinner meals for the family and me, and only buy those items that I planned on cooking.
Whenever I dont cook/prepare to plan, I inadvertently NEVER get in my proper quota of veggies. And whenever I dont shop to plan, I inadvertently spend too much or miss important items.

    That is a good challenge. I may try it myself! I have so much trouble w/ fruits and veggies. Veggies especially!

    That's one of my big struggles too. It's just so much faster to grab something else(usually something not very good for me).

spent day in bed

Well I spent most of the day in bed. Got up this morning did my workout then went back to bed got up ate went back to bed. Got up to log stuff n now going back to bed. It's eithe a kidney infection or kidney stones. LUCKY LUCKY ME
