Well its gonna b another rough couple of weeks for me. It seems that La & I have something called VIRAL SYNDROME (more on that further down). I do believe that we r both on the road to recovery but unfortunately my other health issues have been compromised asthma, bronchitis, sinusitis & now the pneumonia is back. I m back on the nebulizer every 6 hours. They cant put me on the antibiotics cause I just finished a round of very strong penicillin
The worse part for me is the fevers last night mine was so bad I was hallucinating. La's fever finally broke last night; prayerfully for good.
I get tired very easily so I m spending most of my time in bed. Today though I aired out my room & changed the sheets; I had to lay down after doing that. I m not use to being this run down from any illness. I havent been able to hold much food or drink in me since Thursday. I finally had a cup of coffee this morning NEVER HAS COFFEE TASTED SO GOOD!
Just one it would b nice that when I got sick I could the mild version of an illness but it seems with me its always the extreme but then again I dont always take very good care of myself. Today was the 1st time that I left my house since Friday. If it wasn't for La going back to school i probably wouldnt have left the house. The drs said she could go back yesterday but I kept her home an extra day and still doesnt think she shouldnt have went back. But she is in this school thru a special transfer even though I live only 3 1/2 blocks from the school it is not considered our home school our home school (the elementary school I went to) is over 8 blocks away. Part of the agreement ofr her to go to this shcool is she must wear uniform everyday; no behavior problems and must b in school everyday. Prior to this she had missed 4 days with drs notes and they sent truancy to my house.
I hate these breathing treatments buts its either them or wind up back in the hosp.
Personally I have never heard of Viral Syndrome so here is the info straight from the hosp paper work:
A viral syndrome is an infection caused by the growth of a small virus germ inside the body. These germs are spread from person to person as a contagious disease. They are probably spread with coughs and sneezes and may even b transmitted by shaking hands.
Unfortunately this is no medication that can destroy these viruses. Antibiotics have no effect. Given time, however, the body's own immune system will destroy the germs and eliminate the infection. This may take just a few days or it may take as long as 2 to 3 wks.
The symptoms of a viral syndrome are often similar to those of a common cold. There is a run down feeling, muscle aches and a mild fever. In addiction, there may also be a sore throat, diarrhea, hoarseness, a cough, a poor appetite, a mild headache and watery eyes
A viral syndrome does not ordinarily produces any serious medical problems. There are, however, some risks:
1. People with a viral syndrome generally have a poor appetite and do not drink enough fluids. This can can result in dehydration, which makes the run down feeling even worse
2. a viral syndrome sometimes worsens the symptoms of other medical problems, such as bronchitis, asthma or emphysema
3 people with a viral syndrome occasionally develop other infections such as sinusitis or pneumonia
