OOPS I DID IT AGAIN

Sunday, April 25, 2010

Yea I seem to screw up alot lately. I know that part of it is the depression; but it's getting better. It's amazing how just making decisions & acting on them is making me feel lighter. U know more @ peace.

Tomorrow I go back to the dr to c wat they want to do about my legs & ankle, they will also b adjusting my depression meds. I c the neurologist on May 24th to start the process of test for my carpal tunnel surgery.

We've decided that we turn the back bedroom into a workout room. So far I have the bowflex treadclimber & a stationary bike. When hubby comes home next mth he will b adding the weights. I will also b doing my strengthening in there. I do arms 2x a wk; legs 2x a wk; & then core 2x a wk. Prayerfully I will b able to set it up in a way to do my version of circuit training.

I m once again refocusing on myself; last time that I truly did this - I lost 50 in 6 mths. Soooo here I go again. As long as I never quit or give up then I'm still a winner.

Z - spent the day w/ hubby
E - even though it my day of I did 30 mins
N - I was on the high end of my calories but I didn't go over.

HOW DO I FEEL

HOW DO I FEEL - like crap

I haven't been blogging the way I use 2 lately.
My health has really not been good and I had to make some major life changing decisions.

I haven't even shared this with too many ppl that I know. I had to send my La back 2 live with her mom (my daughter); last time it didn't workout to well. I feel bad about it but I for once had to really put myself 1st.

Z - started taking care of myself again
E - 85 mins
N - met my calories just under the high

watch the under your calories part. If you don't eat enough in an effort to get a quick weight loss, your body will go into starvation mode and hoard the calories that you take in. I hope it all works out for you. It is so hard to put yourself first without appearing to be selfish. But for some of us it is a matter of life and death. I'm on your side on this one.

Dr Oz 10 commandments

Saturday, April 17, 2010

http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/dr-oz-s-10-
weight-loss-commandments

Day 1: Thou Shall Not Wear Pants That Stretch
What Dr. Oz says:
"When you wear stretchy clothes, it's difficult to tell if you are gaining weight because you gain weight without realizing it. When you wear clothes that fit with a set size you let clothes be your gauge. They alert your body if something is getting a little tight so you can correct the course early on."

What I say:
If they didnt make me look like a clown I would

Day 2: Thou Shall Not Keep "Fat Clothes" in Your Closet
What Dr. Oz says:
"I don't want anybody out there who's losing their weight thinking, 'it's okay if I overeat a little bit, it's not a problem because I can still wear these clothes.'"

What I say:
I usually aint thinking when I overeat afterwards I always feel like crap

Day 3: Thou Shall Not Eat Meat That Walks on Four Legs More Than One Time A Week
What Dr. Oz says:
"The reason is that there's less saturated fat in animals that walk on two legs like chickens, or don't have any legs like fish. Additionally, women who eat large amounts of red meat more than once a week actually have 50 percent higher chance of dying of heart disease. They also have higher cancer rates, so there are double benefits from the third commandment."

What I say:
I've cut down

Day 4: Thou Shall Not Graze or Browse in Search of Prey
What Dr. Oz says:
"You need to plan your meals before you go to the fridge. Too many times we're wandering like reptiles foraging for food. We make food decisions. You want to create the plate that you're going to eat using your brain rather than impulses that lead you to naturally overeat, which is what happens when you're hungry and going in there five to seven times a day."

What I say:
I m still working on this

Day 5: Thou Shall Not Eat After 7:30 PM
What Dr. Oz says:
"The average American goes to bed around 10:00 p.m. You need to have two hours of time between when you eat your dinner and when you go to bed. When you eat late at night, a couple of things happen. First of all, you're more likely to be eating in front of the TV, which means you're distracted and likely to eat more. You also tend to get high-calorie snacks in the late night hours. Try to move your meals up a tiny little bit whatever way you can to make 7:30 p.m. your ideal cut off time."

What I say:
This is rough for me cause I get the munchies in the evenings

Day 6: Thou Shall Not Pile On Food On a Plate More Than One Inch High or Two Inches to the Edge of the Plate
What Dr. Oz says:
"Larger portions mean a lot more calories."

What I say:
I eat out of a bowl or a small plate to eat less

Day 7: Thou Shall Not Chew Less Than 20 Bites
What Dr. Oz says:
"When you're chewing, your body is beginning to process the reality that you're putting food in it. It takes awhile for those hormones to circle back. The perception of fullness depends completely on back and forth chemistry between your stomach and your brain. As you chew, you give yourself several minutes for that processing to occur. So you're helping your biology of blubber take you to a weight that you could be happy at."

What I say:
I liked this commandment because it forced me to eat more slowly and consciously.

Day 8: Thou Shall Not Covet Thy Neighbors Plate
What Dr. Oz says:
"These snacks, these little bites from someone else's sandwich, these little sweets, whatever it is, it adds up. It adds up, on average, to over 1,000 calories a day. That's why grazers, believe it or not, are getting into trouble. These calories count with all the other calories you already eat."

What I say:
if I get from my hubby he gets from mine to even it out

Day 9: Thou Shall Not Carry Small Bills
What Dr. Oz says:
"The reason, vending machines. Vending machines love small bills, and human beings like putting small bills in vending machines. With this temptation it's too easy to get 100 or 200 extra calories of food. Most people buy more because they're not going to pocket the extra change. The result is you feed there over and over again. I want you to leave the house without small bills in your pocket. You won't want to break a $20 bill in order to buy junk foods in a vending machine."

What I say:
I dont use vending machines

Day 10: Thou Shall Not Eat Standing Up or in a Car
What Dr. Oz says:
Eating sitting down enables you to be aware of what youíre eating and eat it slowly so that your body can tell you your full before itís too late

What I say:
I'm working on this, I have a bad habit of eating while doing others things, I seem to multi task my life.

I love Dr.†Oz but I would have real issues with some of these commandments. I
have enough trouble trying to keep the original ten commandments and they have been around a lot longer.

It seems like getting the food out of the house is the key to not bingeing. Great job on the exercising.

    Hello;

I too love bike riding, it never gets boring as the treadmill does sometimes. Being outside & enjoying the scenery makes the time just fly by. Great calorie burn too.
Don't beat yourself up over the food, just get back on track.
Keep biking & enjoy life.

Z - went to church & then took a nap

E - 35 mins (cleaning & treadclimber)

N - have been eating really bad

Tomorrow is a new day & a new week. I will refocus & re-begin my journey to healthy living. I have been doing really bad not exercising as much as I use to & my eating is way off base lately, but it's okay. I have been binge eating ALOT lately. It ends today. I weighed myself today & BOY did I gain some weight. I m up to 236 lbs but I will b going back down when I get on the scale Friday.

Tomorrow La goes back to school thanks b 2 God. I plan on riding my bike to go pay the electric & to go do some food shopping. Maybe I will even get some work done around the house. I also plan 2 make my appt 4 the neurologist so we can start the process to get my carpal tunnel surgery on my left hand , the right hand was done over 15 yrs ago. ALso prayerfully my new glasses are in & I can pick them up tomorrow.

Well I guess thats enough for today.

MAY GOD B UR ANCHOR

Don't beat yourself up. We all fall off the wagon every now and then. It's getting up, brushing yourself off and jumping back on to continue the ride that counts. Sounds like you're ready to do just that.... emoticon

Tomorrow is emoticon emoticon
