Well yesterday my syatica acting up & my legs gave out. I fell off the stair landing & landed on my right ankle. This ankle I serious sprained about 10 yrs ago & its never healed properly.

So after i fell I used my cane for the rest of the day. The rest of the day included me doing the afterschool program which involves walking up to the 3rd flr of the school. Then walking to get La from school then home which is a mile & half. I did ice it.
Couldn't sleep due to the pain. Went to get up out of the bed this morning & couldn't put no pressure on it at all. Soooo I decided to go to the hospital.

To cut to the chase it is not broken but there is such long term damage they wanted to cast it. I choose the air so I can still shower n soak. The ligaments are stretched really bad & there r bone spurs after the air-cast comes off I need to wear braces on both ankles for added support due to all of the exercise I do.

I m on crutches for the next week then I can use the cane if the ankle can handle it. Once my insurance is active next mth I need therapy & to c an orthopedic.

My daughter made me promise not to go to curves or do the wii @ least until Monday. She knows that I don't follow dr directions to well . That is partially y this I so bad My cousin in law keeps calling to check on me to make sure I'm staying off it. THEY ARE DRIVING ME NUTS!!
It should be interesting taking La to school; my daughter wants me to take the bus
instead of walking

Keep me in your prayers & I will keep every1 updated

I'm so sorry about your setback. But listen to the doctor and your family and give it time to heal or you'll end up not being able to use it even longer. DO as Dawn suggested and use some of her chair exercises. There are ways to be creative and yet take care of yourself. And it's a setback but only a temporary one. Most importantly, don't give up!
I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. emoticon

You are absolutely in my prayers honey. When you're feeling a little bit better... just give me a shout and I'll share my chair exercises with you. I exercise sitting on the side of my bed or in my exercise chair OR a sturdy kitchen chair. Get lots of calorie burn and never have to put any pressure on my damaged leg which will not support weight bearing exercises. They are fun and you can sit and watch tv and burn baby burn! Love ya, Dawn emoticon

This was my 2nd healthy Thanksgiving.

It feels good to be not only eating healthier but to b feeding others healthier. Although my daughter wasn't here for Thanksgiving she did come by here yesterday 2 pics up some of my leftovers.
It amazing how good food can taste especially if u leave off all the extras. I now enjoy my veggies without a ton of margarine on it. I like them just as they come or with a little seasoning.
I still make all the salads but I use alot less mayo, I've found that I can just add an extra egg.

I m looking forward to a big healthy family meal. My 3 children n their others along with the grandchildren will all b here on Christmas Eve. We are having a Birthday party for Jesus then go to Christmas Eve service my La will b singing.
Its so cute watching this 4 yr old blossom. Although Santa doesn't leave gifts at our house he will stop in for the b-day party & give everyone a gift to celebrate the births of Christ.

All the food on the meal will b cooked by me and cooked healthy.
