T = TRUST

Monday, November 23, 2009

T - Trust — No work is in vain when it comes to weight loss. Even when you're not seeing the results you expected, you have to believe your dedication is changing your life and body. Trust what you're doing will produce the results you envision

This is so true. I have more energy. Others notice more then I do (today ppl who havent seen me since last Thanksgiving were shocked to c how much weight I've lost - I told them wait till next yr). I've also been noticing that even though I hadnt notice a change in a cpl mths then one day I noticed alot of changes after I looked @ a pic.

So trust that your work is not in vain, it jsut takes longer then we want for the results that we want.

    Thanks for reminding me of that today emoticon
I needed it.

I haven't been seeing the big results that I want but I have to keep going !!

Dawn: You are so right about the "instant gratification." I used to wish that there was one simple exercise I could do for 5 minutes a day and I would be at my goal weight in 3 weeks.
But now I am enjoying this journey and know that it will be so worth it in the end.

    I love this blog. TRUST in self and what we're doing is a very big deal. We've been brought up in the "instant gratification" society and it's hard to accept it when things take their own sweet time. I just remind myself that as long as I am eating the right things, staying in my calorie range, and exercising.. then I am winning! It WILL happen! Thanks for blogging and sharing your journey with us. Love ya, Dawn emoticon

A = ACTIVITY

Sunday, November 22, 2009

A - Activity — Keep moving, and find fun ways to say active. Grab a friend and join a walk/run club or hit the community courts for a pick-up game of basketball. Find the activities that make you smile, and rotate through them

It is so easy to find activities to do. So the object is to just keep moving. Even when I 'm having problems with my legs and back and have to stay off them I do find way to move around.

Also a great investment is a STABILITY BALL u can sit & bounce while watching TV

So like they sing in La's favorite movie: MOVE IT MOVE IT I LIKE TO MOVE IT MOVE IT

    They say you should sit on your stability ball while you are sitting at your desk. It's great for your abs.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Have a great night!

    Sometimes it seems so much easier to not "move it," but at the same time there is so much we can do to be moving. I think I mess up sometimes because I take an "all or nothing" apporach but we don't always have to go hard. If you have back/leg problems, do you ever do punches? It's an easy way to get the heart rate up and doesn't require much lower body movement! I enjoy reading your blogs. emoticon

    You should try Chair Exercises. They work for me when I can not be in the pool. I can sit and watch tv and march in place, wave my arms around and be getting fit! It works! Love ya, Dawn

V = VARIETY

Saturday, November 21, 2009

V - Variety — Shake things up. Routines are helpful, but your body learns and adapts quickly. Try to keep it guessing with new activities and foods to make your body work for you.

This is a little hard for me. I use to adapt very well to change BUT not any more. I like things to b n just stay that way.

So my game plan is to find things that I enjoy bike riding; swimming, skating, tennis & of course my wii. Now that I have my list I m going to try to change my activity on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. Prayerfull I will also find more activities to choose from like playing differnt types of ball with my La.

I = INFORM

Inform — Experiment with activity and healthy recipes to learn what you like. Information is a powerful source to keep you going. What's more, sharing what you learn with others helps build your confidence and enthusiasm.

This is an easy one thanx to this site, I read every article I can. I've sampled several of the recipes. I also get a wealth of information from my team post and from reading blogs.

I also get emails from 50 pound challenge & Biggest Loser site.

I belong to curves and check out info that they offer.

T = TIME

Thursday, November 19, 2009

T - Time — Make time for creative activities. Whether you take up dancing, run around with your kids, or even go out for a daily walk before work or after dinner. Whatever you come up with, try to make time in your busy schedule to do something fun and active.

This is one thing that I've really been focusing on - staying active.
I play tennis (loosely labeled) with 4 yr old La. I'm even buying her skates so that we can roller skate together. Trying to keep up with a 4 yr old can b an activity in itself.

I walk as much as I can. I go food shopping either walking or riding my bike.

My hubby even just bought me a wii & wii fit plus; so that I can even try more activity as the weather starts getting bad.

    I love the "T". It's important that we make TIME to get well and get healthy. I agree that chasing a 4 year old is definitely activity. LOL My grand-daughters are 9,7,4 and my grandson is 5. I deal with the 4 of them daily. Phew! Love ya, Dawn emoticon
