T = TIME

Thursday, November 19, 2009

T - Time Make time for creative activities. Whether you take up dancing, run around with your kids, or even go out for a daily walk before work or after dinner. Whatever you come up with, try to make time in your busy schedule to do something fun and active.

This is one thing that I've really been focusing on - staying active.
I play tennis (loosely labeled) with 4 yr old La. I'm even buying her skates so that we can roller skate together. Trying to keep up with a 4 yr old can b an activity in itself.

I walk as much as I can. I go food shopping either walking or riding my bike.

My hubby even just bought me a wii & wii fit plus; so that I can even try more activity as the weather starts getting bad.

    I love the "T". It's important that we make TIME to get well and get healthy. I agree that chasing a 4 year old is definitely activity. LOL My grand-daughters are 9,7,4 and my grandson is 5. I deal with the 4 of them daily. Phew! Love ya, Dawn emoticon

O - Organize Before you go to the grocery store organize a meal plan and create a shopping list. Sticking to a plan and list can help you look forward to the next snack or meal and build some excitement in eating

I m doing pretty good with theis one. My daughter is upset now when she visits I only have healthy snacks. I even bag up the snacks into 1 serving bags. EX. Caremel rice cakes 8 in a bag 140 calories.

M = MINDSET

Tuesday, November 17, 2009

I recently posted a blog 10 motivation tips, now I m going to break down in 10 different blogs what they mean for me.
M - Mindset Take time to evaluate what's going on in your mind. What triggers your snack attacks? What distracts you from choosing healthy options? Learning what's going on inside can help inspire you to make better, healthier decisions

What goes on in my mind is scary. What triggers my snack attacks is boredom; anger; frustration; and mental meltdowns.

What distracts me from choosing healthy options well it's a matter of where I'm @ cause at times I do snack on healthy stuff

I need to remember to always carry my healthy snacks with me and to remember that just cause I have 1 bad snack doesn't mean that I HAVE TO EAT THE WHOLE BAG.

    I like this blog!!! I have the same pitfalls for eating habits. I am packing portioned out trail mix and soy cakes for snacks. It's so hard to stay on track after a road bump but you are right, just because we make a poor food choice, doesn't mean we should throw the towel in and over indulge even more so!

    I can relate completely. Whenever I'm stressed, angry, or bored, all I want to do is eat.

10 MOTIVATION TIPS & THANK U RUBY-LITES

Friday, November 13, 2009

10 Tips. 10 Pounds Lighter.
We're at the time of year when our motivation wanes, and many convenient distractions keep us from eating healthy or exercising.

With a little awareness we can ignite our motivation again. This next series of blasts will help us regain our focus.

M - Mindset Take time to evaluate what's going on in your mind. What triggers your snack attacks? What distracts you from choosing healthy options? Write these things out in our free Online Journal. Learning what's going on inside can help inspire you to make better, healthier decisions.

O - Organize Before you go to the grocery store organize a meal plan and create a shopping list. Sticking to a plan and list can help you look forward to the next snack or meal and build some excitement in eating.

T - Time Make time for creative activities. Whether you take up dancing, run around with your kids, or even go out for a daily walk before work or after dinner. Whatever you come up with, try to make time in your busy schedule to do something fun and active.

I - Inform Experiment with activity and healthy recipes to learn what you like. Information is a powerful source to keep you going. What's more, sharing what you learn with others helps build your confidence and enthusiasm.

V - Variety Shake things up. Routines are helpful, but your body learns and adapts quickly. Try to keep it guessing with new activities and foods to make your body work for you.

A - Activity Keep moving, and find fun ways to say active. Grab a friend and join a walk/run club or hit the community courts for a pick-up game of basketball. Find the activities that make you smile, and rotate through them.

T - Trust No work is in vain when it comes to weight loss. Even when you're not seeing the results you expected, you have to believe your dedication is changing your life and body. Trust what you're doing will produce the results you envision.

I - Imagine What does success look like for you? What size pants or dress will you fit into when you reach your next goal? Keep a picture of success in front of you, and your work will get you there.

O - Observant Take notice of the changes going on with you. Are the healthy changes in your diet affecting how you feel about yourself? Are others taking notice? Do you look at food choices a critical eye? Observe the changes going on in you. They are real, and your family and friend will notice.

N - New We're not in this journey simply to revert to our old ways. The change in our lives is real and lasting. In a sense, we're creating a new life for ourselves. Let the new you influence your decisions and activity as you continue to live smarter and healthier.

    great blog! i totally agree with O. i make a menu two weeks in advance and buy everything i can at the store before hand. I've already made my pre and post turkey day menus so i can keep my eating as healthy as possible those two weeks and not feel guilty for enjoying an extra helping of turkey and mashed potatoes.

    How would you like to be in your early 20's and it say that you are in your late 20's that happened to my son. When he did it again after a week it gave him is age that he was. Can't remember what it told me but I was close to my age and I think that I my be at a younger age now. Just forgot how to do that to see what it is now. Glad that you married Peter Pan and you are Wendy. See you Wendy. emoticon

    I have the wii fit plus also and I hate when it does my age, it always changes. I am 34 and the higest has been 58 and the lowest is 21, I don't get it. It does the same with the kids and husband but not so big though. Once it was my age. So I know how you feel, it lies!!!!!!LOL God Bless You

    This blog made me laugh. One, how lucky to be married to Peter Pan. And two, the whole wii Fit age is a mystery to me. I'm 56 and generally it says I'm within a few years of that. Last night, it tells me I'm 25?!!?? That's a big jump from the usual 52-55. I realize I dropped a pound and a half this week, but pretty sure that's not impressive enough to make me half my age. Just like they say the lottery is "not to be used for investment purposes", the wii Fit is not to be counted on for accurate estimations. Enjoy and keep on working hard!
