How has weight loss changed my life?

This is an easy one. Although I do have along way to go; I have noticed many changes in my life lately. This time last year I was 30 lbs heavier & I wasn't happy. Now that I m a little lighter I seem to have more energy ( I do credit this to daily exercise). My asthma is not as bad as it was I no longer have to use my nebulizer everyday (last yr @ this time it was every 6 hrs). I have a much more active life. Hubby & I do so many more things together now.

Sunday my youngest grand (my son's daughter) got baptised. Even though I deaconed for the service; I decided to try to dress up. I wanted to look nice for the pictures after service. Of course this was a stressful weekend; I had my other 2 grands (my daughter's 2 girls); for the weekend. So I was not happy about anything that I tried on; nothing looked right. but I decided to settle for the outfit that I wore to the baby shower. Didn't like the way it looked so I added a belt; still not happy. Then I decided to move the belt up some; a little above the waist. Much, much better. Not only does it tuck the tummy in some, since I've a short torso it helped to break my body up in a different way.

1. w/ my spark-friend walk to the top of the Sears Tower that is 68 steps a day
so far I've done 748 steps
2. do 80,000 steps a week
last week I did 82,139 steps
3. Boot camp video a day

    Man looks on the outward appearance, so it doesn't matter where you put that belt! God looks on the heart and that matters more than anything! emoticon

And way to go on those challenges...
I am doing good with the Tower...steps can use some help..we are not so busy at work and not getting in as many steps...I need to find ways to spark it up a bit...
And the videos are going great for me as well...

Have had a rough week as far as eating...had to have my little dog put to sleep last Friday, so I have been a little depressed..but today I am realizing that was just an excuse..
This week is a new week and Im a moving looking back..

Keep up the awesome job you are are going to have to that dress taken in honey!

Well it was a little depressing but I got my Matron of Honor dress for my cousin Civil Ceremony. I hate clothes shopping to begin with. The dress is Apple so that's what I look like in my opinion AN APPLE - a big dark red apple. It does have to b hemmed & that it is in June prayerfully by then they will have to take it in some too. The good thing about the dress is that it does hide my belly bulge somewhat. So the ceremony is in August; I sent the dress home with my cousin so that I don't have to keep looking at it.
Why m I doing this to myself; everytime I go into a clothes store I get depressed. Then because of being plus size it even harder to find something; then due to the colors for the wedding only certain dresses come in apple. All the dresses are made for skinny ppl. Something that I will never b. The funny part was that the brides maids r size 14 & 16 dresses, the store doesn't carry to many dresses in those sizes either everything was a 10 it seemed. Well that's enough ranting for now. Got to get to bed

    Nothing like dress shopping to depress a person! I feel where you are coming from. My best friend is getting married and I am the maid of honor. We tried on dresses one day for fun and I am praying I lose a couple sizes before we order them. I'm sure you will look great in the dress. Just set your mind to having it taken in and you will achieve that goal! emoticon

How do I stay Motivated

There are a few ways that I try to keep myself motivated one is other people's negativity It's like they are waiting for me to fail & I WONT. Another way I stay motivated is looking @ old pics
Then I look @ my newer pics
It's kind of easy for me then to decide whether or not I will eat right or workout.
I've made alot of life changes lately. It's not just about the food; eating healthier; or working out to get in shape. It's also about people & staying away from negative or stressful people.
Is everyday easy for me NO not even close; but thanks to some very specail spark friends It is getting easier. I have to do this noone else can do this for me. THIS IS MY LIFE & IT'S WHAT I MAKE OF IT. For me my life really began @ 40.

It is so true...negative people can light a fire in you that makes you push harder just to prove them wrong...don't know why that is, I guess we are just programmed that way.
So glad that you are opting for that rather than allowing them to bring you down!

    Good for you! I agree with what you said. Staying motivated is certainly is not an easy thing. It's so much easier to give in to the urge than to fight it...but I, too, have been looking at pictures of myself & I don't like what I see. I just started this program & it has been a huge inspiration for me. I got on the scale this morning & I am down a couple of pounds! I am thrilled! So here is to you, me... and all of the other people in the world who are struggling with their weight. Keep up the good work! You should be very proud of yourself.
PS. I does begin in your 40's!

I think we should blow our horns so loud that everyone in SparkLand hears them!
You are doing great...I am having a great time with the stairs challenge, it gets tough some days, but I push through it!
Where do you want to go next, I will have to dig around for some pretty tall buildings!
