Today was our mthy nutrition class as part of win some lose some competition. We discussed serving size which ironically is what I've been working on with my hubby.

Now I have to work on reading the first 3 ingredients; to start eating less of certain things or to completely eliminate them from my daily intake.

It is hard to believe that all my life I was over eating; even when I was skinny. I am learning to eat smaller portions and to have healthier foods in the house.

I think that if my family would have read more label when I was younger mayb me n them would all have been more healthier.

    I think the times were different and we reallly didn't understand the impact foods could have on our lives. Having said that, my grandparents fried everything in lard, breaded anything that could be breaded, put gravy on everything and lived to be in their 90s. I'm not advocating it, just sayin'! They also worked 3 times as hard as we do!

    Yea, we all would be more healthier if our parents read the labels, but back then they didn't know they should, no big deal to any of us then and that sure put us all in a tight spot. :( At least we can learn to do it now and know what we're eating. :) HUGS!

28/365 Spark Motivator

As some of you know on Sunday I was informed that I m a spark motivator. Totally shocked me - I m truly humbled by this.
I just wonder how can I b a motivator to others when I cant even motivate myself half the time.

For those of you who voted for me thank you and God bless; apparently u c something I don't.

Still having sleeping issues; but I m trying to work on it. I found out today that I should have insurance by about March 13th.

I have decided that I really need to up my workout minutes; I've really easing up on it since I got sick. Other then having to rework out my neck n lower back - I have seem to have fully recovered from being sick. I just need to work back up to what I was doing.

27/365 The Past & Future Me

If I could go back in time and give advice to myself I wouldn't,
As much as I've been thru the molestation as a child; being raped as a teen; having my children young; the domestic violence from my first marriage (including being held hostage n him trying to kill me) and then there is ALL of the health issues. No I wouldn't go back to give advice or to change anything. You may think I'm crazy (well I m a little bit but not cause of this) BUT seriously if anything changed even in the way I think - it would change who I am today.

I M A SURVIVOR - I M STRONG - I M ME

Now as to the future me (thanx to my friend Pixie) I periodically send my future self a letter; it helps to remind me how far I've come. www.futureme.org/

I have a long way go in my journey BUT I think I've already learned my most valuable lesson HONESTY. To move forward in life to really move forward in life I have to be honest. Honest about who I am & why I m the way I m & about who I want to be.

I aint no junk CAUSE GOD DONT MAKE NO JUNK

I needed to do a dream board; never been good @ these. As much as I love my crafts dream boards n motivational type boards are my downfall. Then I realized I was just thinking too much; my dream board is real easy - its just pictures. Pictures of my family blood as well as others. So hanging in my home there are 2 picture frame collages - pictures of happy times. My dream is for my love ones to be happy.

What will change when I reach my goals - NOTHING. Cause this journey will never end; this is my life. Well there will be one change I will be physically more healthy. I dont want to be skinny I just want to be healthy



1) Why - to get healthy n watch my grands grow up especially the one that I m raising
2) to be able to take care of myself w assistance ( dress myself )
3) I need to contiually push myslef to do things that are difficult; even if it means finding new or different ways
I schedule my gym time; so that it gets done
shop more often to have healhtier n fresher foods
I also pre cook most of my meals; a crock pot of soup evey weekend;
when I lose 20 lbs - lighten my hair
when I lose 50 lbs mani/pedi;
when I lose 75 lbs ? when I lose 100 lbs ?

    Honesty is so right! Actually, if you asked people if they would change lives with you or another person, FOREVER, they would most likely say no.. Never see my grandpa or sister or best friend again?

    What a beautiful sentiment - and I'm glad you wouldn't change yourself. I often think that we came to earth knowing some of the tragedies and struggles and we take it on because 1. We're tough and can handle it, 2. God trusts us to "get 'er done", and 3. because for whatever reason those experiences make us into a person with a divine destiny. Good for you on realizing the joy in the journey! :) You can do it!
