I was so surprise due to being sick and then not really working out the last 2 weeks and I have had some bad food days.

Today was a rough day. It started out so good; I went 2 the gym & had another great workout. My walk & tone class was on that pur-motion machinery thingy thing again (different instructors); felt great.
It even flurried a little bit; so glad that it didnt actually snow. I HATE COLD.

Then got a call from my daughter who is going thru alot n pregnant on top of it.
La got her report card n she is behind in most subjects & still hasnt made friends in school. But around home she has a some.

Tomorrow is my mthly weigh in and dont I overeat today - I dont know what happened.
I guess I have already accepted defeat & the fact that I havent lost no weight but I will strive as I move 4ward 2 stay on track.

    Defeat is not a word you should even think! You are getting healthier by exercising and eating healthier-that is success! Keep up the good work!

You may have not seen the scale go down however, how does your cloth feel when you put them on? I was doing all the right things, eating right and exercising more than I ever exercised and the scale didn't move in my favor. For a split second I accepted defeat that this eating right and exercising doesn’t work.

After a moment of thinking like this, I decided that I would not measure my success on what the scale said only. I noticed how my clothes were feeling looser on me and I also noticed how I had more stamina then I had before. I become a little more adventurous as time went on and I took on projects or tried exercises I couldn’t do before and to my amazement, I was able to do them without stopping or getting out of breath.

There could be many reason why the scale isn't moving in the down direction even though you’re doing all you know to do. (i.e. sodium intake, stress, water retention, even taking some medications can cause you to hold on to the weight etc.).

Once I made a conscience decision to stop being overly concerned about my weight lost, it started coming off with a lot more ease. It didn't take a small amount of time to gain the weight and it will take some time to take it off. Besides, your lungs and heart is loving you for making them stronger as you continue to eat healthier and exercise.

Remember this is a LIFESTYLE change and not another diet. Keep doing what you know to do and your weight lose will catch up with you.

    Don't feel defeated! The scales aren't the only thing we measure fitness by. You're feeling better with not using a walker and it's thanks to your fitness routine. I think you're doing great with going to the gym so faithfully! Don't give up and do take the word defeat out of your vocabulary, because you can do this! Love you! HUGS!

    Maga, please tell me you are tracking inches and not just weight. With your dedication to the physical activity now, you may not see the change on the scale as your muscles tone. And remember that muscle weighs more than fat. So if you aren't tracking inches, please start to. Also pay attention to how your clothing changes. Even at the beginning, sometimes particularly around the waist some people find the clothing gets a little tighter at first. But then as you continue with the physical exercise all the fat starts getting replaced by the muscles and everything, even shoes become looser. So keep on doing what you are doing and I bet in a month you will see big changes. And remember to keep tracking the food intake as well.

23/365 Tackling the Gym

Slowly but surely I am learning my way around the gym equipment ; I don't remember the name of it but this is the machine we worked on today. We had to do 8 different things as part of the circuit.

Saturday we will b taught by our Win Some Lose instructors how to use any machines that we havent yet used. It is also our mthly weigh in. Not feeling too good about the weigh in n measurements as I've been sick alot this mth. But I will continue to move forward no matter what that scale says.
I will look @ my NSV; like no walker or cane. The fact that I can make it thru most ot the classes; even though I do modify.

    Great for you celebrating non scale victories. They are invaluable.
Also, good for you, trying new equipment at the gym. Sometimes we can allow ourselves to be threatened by all that equipment and we just stay away from it but not you. Way to go.

It was so cold today that I didn't make it to the gym. Too cold to ride the bike & too cold to walk @ least 4 me. When its this cold I can barely move from the pain in my fusion site. The only time I could have gotten a ride would have been 4 a night class but that interferes w La's bed schedule.

I usually go to the gym morning or afternoon. I just had NO ENERGY today @ all. It seems I don't make it to the gym & I have no energy.

Tomorrow I have a ride already set up; so I will going to the win some lose class then I wil work out w some machines.

Saturday is our official weigh in. emoticon

    It's okay to take a day off now and then. :) When you do, if you feel like working out, just pull up a spark video, I know there'll be something there you can do. :) If you don't feel like working out, take a break from it, your body needs breaks now and then from exercising, :) Love you!
