21/365 Body Combat - Part 2

Tuesday, January 22, 2013

I've enjoyed body combat the few times that I've tried it. This afternoon I got to try the body combat with another instructor. emoticon I will no longer go to the thurs morning class this instructor was so much easier to understand and to follow. Not to mention that the class had less ppl.
emoticon emoticon

I actually enjoy body combat and I'm sure that once I can keep up - I will enjoy it even more

20/365 Weekends

Monday, January 21, 2013

Weekends are such a struggle for me. I have come to realize part of why. I get up later due to La not having school & I don't always get a proper workout in. This weekend though was different & I feel great for it. I got my walks in & did the gym every day.

This weekend I decided no more excuses & thats just the way its gonna b. I get up @ 6 am on school days on non-school days I will now get up @ 8; no matter what time I fell asleep. I will go to the gym @ least 5 days a week. But I will try for 7 as I do something different each day; this is my way of jump starting this process of me getting healthy.

Today we even went to the park as a family including Grumpy who went in his wheelchair.

I believe I m fully recovered form being sick & it feels great 2 b into a routine.

This post is wonderful. You sound like you have decided that you are as important as everyone in your home and I am very proud that you are making the conscious decision to make being healthy a priority emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I hope that you are recovered. Do remember that your body needs some downtime too, so seven days maybe too much. If you do go seven days, try to do arms one day, legs another, etc. so that the muscles have time to repair.

Maga, you have come a long, long way in this past year. You stuck it out even through some crappy points. You, my dear, are a survivor. Hold your head high and be proud because as L'oreal says you ARE worth it.

19/365 My Just DO IT - done

Sunday, January 20, 2013

I m part of the BLC21 team and this week has a theme of JUST DO IT.

So yesterday I did my just do it. I m sure u are all aghast waiting to read what I did. WELLLL I tackled some machines @ the gym.
As one of the BIGGER people at the gym I often skip things. I feel awkward and I worry about doing wrong. Not to mention as a person with panic attacks; I avoid lots of things.
Yesterday as I went to the gym w 1 of my workout buddies. The gym was crowded so now I am feeling uncomfortable BUT having a supportive workout partner we went into o the woman only area; this is a small room attached to the locker room where we can use stability balls; medicine balls, mats or weights. We did about 30 minutes in there then noticed the gym was emptying a little. So we supported each other and tried out a few machines. ONly 1 of them will I NOT do again.
so for just do it emoticon

Today I did 45 minutes in a spin class emoticon and to think just over 2 mths ago I was using a walker emoticon

You are doing such a wonderful job Maga! I'm so very proud of you! :) I know some of those machines can be quite intimidating at times, especially when there are a lot of other people in the gym. I found that they aren't looking at me/you, they are there for the same reason, their fitness. So just ignore them, they aren't paying attention to you. You are awesome! Love you! Hugs!

18/365 Pilot / Flight Attendant

Saturday, January 19, 2013

next wk is our weight in for the Biggest Loser challenge (it is mthy weigh ins). We are having theme weigh ins and the first theme is pilot or flight attendant; so I need to figure out a way w/o buying anything to turn my work-out look into either a pilot or flight attendant look.
I think blue pants white shirt & try to make a hat. So I of course came to my sparkfriends for suggestions.
Night all

I want more information on your Biggest Loser Contest. How long does it run? What did you pay to get in and what do you get out of it? I'm running a small one here for 7 weeks. It hasn't started yet. I know that I have a lot to learn about different ways to run these things.

Good luck on your weigh-in!!! It sounds like they are doing a lot of things to make this fun!

Flight attendant sounds fun. :) You've got the pants and shirt, you can always make the hat from colored paper and oh, maybe a little thing to match the hat for around your neck that looks something like emoticon :) Most of all have fun with it! HUGS!

Flight attendant would be easier than a captain because a scarf instead of a hat would be easier. The rest would be the same. You can always do one of the casual airlines with khaki pants or shorts and a white polo shirt. Do NOT forget to make plane wings with your first name for an attendant. Good luck!

17/365 Sparkfriends

Friday, January 18, 2013

I just want to thank each and everyone of you. I have been sparking now since 2008. I feel closer to ppl on this site to alot of people in my real life. I am much more honest and open on here; I feel that y'all are less judgemental, I guess part of that is that there is almost always someone who shares my experiences.

During my years @ spark I did lose alot of weight but when I had a run of health issues the weight sneaked back on when I wasn't focused on other issues. To this I actually got as low as lie 230 and now I'm back to the 280's.

But thanks to all of u wonderful spark friends I know that I m not a failure I just had a set back but thanks to yall I know this to shall pass and I will be able to lose my weight again.

I want to thank all of you who take the time to read my blogs and to comment. I want to thank you for the encouragement and for the support. I also thank you the advice and suggestions. I do value each and everyone of your comments

I've noticed the same thing, the people here are so supportive! I think the people around me would also be if I were more open with them and shared what I'm really going through. But no, life is so busy and we just seem to go through the motions during the day and nobody knows the struggles, they just see everyone getting their work done and it is also important to keep up a positive outlook to be able to get through the day. So there it goes. Thank God for this format to share with each other.

I think if it wasn't for those little set backs now and then we would for sure lose focus on what we should be doing. You are doing great and I know you will lose that weight again! Love you! HUGS!

That is what we are here for..to support each other

& when one of us falls down to reach out the hand to help them up again.

You have been amazingly honest & with your attitude you will be able to succeed.

Good luck on this journey we call life..tis a trip we all travel togather.
