I have to accept & deal with this. I enjoy cooking especially when I make up new recipes. Tonight I made stuffed steak - I cut up an eye roast as thick steak slices, then made a healthy version of my stuffing.
I have to learn to control my eating habits, I was doing okay there for a while. Then there was a few family events & I as usual was asked to cook. Once I started I just didn't want to stop.
I have done some good things though. I've taken to freezing some homemade dinners. I try to change most of my recipes to be healthier. I love the look on peoples faces when I tell them that something is sugar free or that is a healthy version,
As I've said before this is not a diet this is my life.

almost 3 mths

Tuesday, February 03, 2009

Sunday will be 3 mths on Sparks. I feel like I've learned so much here & I've made some valuable friends. The amazing thing is although I have never met any one personally when something good or bad happens I log onto the site. An event happens I take pics & if there is a differnce in my appearance straight to download I go.
Prayerfully when I weigh this week I will finally c the scale moving again - it's been kind of stuck lately. I know it's my own fault - been eating cake with frosting alot last week BUT NO MORE.
I know what to do so its time to step it up & actually go back to doing it all. Hubby is presently unemployed so he is going to help me to get some exercise in.
In these past 3mths, I've changed alot. The sad part is along with these changes some rl friendships have suffered. People who thought they knew me just don't get it. But I 'm not upset about it or even depressed. Cause even though I have lost several what I once thought were close friends - I have gained some TRUE friends,

I want to thank everyone here @ Spark - if it wasn't for the support that I receive here I don't know if I would be able to do this. I guess if you've never struggled with weight then you cant understand. The looks I get when I avoid eating the foods that I no longer eat, but always used to. Noone understanding the water bottle that I always carry( I bought the sparks one but cant use it the sound it makes when I take off the lid goes straight thru me).
And I m once again restarting with the exception of the knowledge that I have now. Everyone thinks that I'm nuts when I turn down their rides cause I would rather walk the 2 miles to go visit my dad @ the hospital. I can't wait to have nice weather & be able to go back to doing my morning mile.
Also as I m restarting again I've decided to get rid of those baggy clothes (except my sweats)maybe if I cant keep going back to my safety I can manage this weight thing better, I don't want to be a yo-yo!!!

You can do it! It's not always the easiest way to go - walking instead of driving, planning your meals ahead instead of stopping at the drive-thru, drinking water when you really want to reach for that soda....but it will all pay off. Congrats on your dedication and determination to restart - we're all rooting for you!

I'm restarting as well. I found sparkpeople in July 08....since then, I gained 13 lbs!! Since restarting, I've lost 8 of those lbs. least I'm going in the right direction. I'm getting the same stuff you are though...I walk into work with an orange instead of a donut, or a salad instead of KFC and either I get the strange looks or the comments start. Keep going!!!! We are both going to make it this time!!

I Hate Winter

Saturday, January 31, 2009

It's so pretty when it snows, but I hate winter. We haven;t really had much snow just lots n lots of COLD
I seem to always b sick. Once again I 'm in bed, spent 2 days there. Every time that I get sick I feel like I'm having to start all over. I've come so far yet here I m once again starting over or so it seems. Well @ least this time I m not allowing myself to get depressed over it. Tomorrow I will go to church n then try to get in a little walking & Monday I m going to start working out again. Well @ least that's the game plan.
I can't wait to have walking weather again. I miss doing my morning mile - my goal is to do move it up to 2 miles a day.

Have you tried the Leslie Sansone workouts?
They are a great alternative when you can't get outside...I have 4 or 5 of her videos...from the 1 mile to the 5 mile challenge.
You can pick them up at Walmart..
I hope you are feeling better soon...

The good thing about starting over is the chance to re-evaluate your plan and tweak the nutrition a bit more so as you might lessen that chance of getting sick....or falling off in some other way. The bottom of the tracker allows you to follow a great list of different nutrients.
Ive come to find it easier to start over every month as if Im just starting for the first time...except I have gained some new skills, more knowledge, and greater confidence. But when I keep pluggin, and pluggin, I tend to lose my direction and get hung up on all the imperfections...instead of making a new plan to get over those hurdles. Not saying that you suffer the same issues, if your lucky Im just rambling. LOL but its food for thought if your path ever leads you to that bridge.

Today I did over 16,000 steps today & I feel great. It's funny hubby used to drive I never have, today we had to go to social security to apply for a new card for him n then we had to stop a few places. We bused it n I suggested walking to the next place funny thing he the one that used to drive didn't think it was a good idea to far I strongly suggested other wise I WIN so we take the walk n what he thought would be a 2 mile walk was just a 1/4 mile walk MY WAY. Then we walked to the next errand. We really enjoyed it & it was an area that we normally wouldn't have walked around. We wind up walking from Cherry Hill to Camden & it didn't take us long at all. I LOVE TO WALK

I love to walke too! I can't wait until it is nice enought to walk or hike outside! I'm getting bored with dvd's. Where do you live? That is so great that you walked so much & enjoyed it! Another thing I like to do, it park way out in the parking lot & walk to the store, don't have worry about hasseling with finding a place that way. Good job!
